Ok, she now had blood replacing what she lost. Now he needed seal the wound so that she wouldn't lose too much more. The cut itself didn't seem to large but then again a head wound didn't need to be. He took the gauze from Ben and began applying some dermal adhesive. It was only a temporary solution until he could apply stitches.
In the mean time he hooked up some monitoring equipment. She was still unconscious but seemed stable for now. They had some basic imaging equipment on board. He could at least get an x-ray of her skull. "Ben, stand back for a minute," George said motioning away so that he didn't get any of the x-ray radiation. He slid the x-ray slab over the top of her head and took the image. He waited a few seconds for it to print and looked at it in the light before putting it back down. He turned to Ben.
"Well, I have good news and bad news," George said to Ben. "As I said, she has a concussion and she's lost a lot of blood. This is not usually a very good combination and I don't know how long it will be IF she regains consciousness. The good news, is that her skull fracture is minor and she won't need major surgery of any kind, which improves her odds. I will need to do some stitching, though." He paused for a second before continuing, Now, if you don't mind my asking, who is she?"

Ben shook for a moment when George said 'if' she regained consciousness. Was there a chance that she wouldn't? Apparently her chances were good, and Ben wasn't one to be pessimistic.
Also, George obviously didn't recognize her and didn't know that she was an Independent veteran just like him. Which was understandable, in the war medics didn't have to go in the command post, those were usually reserved for officers like Ben.
"One of ours." Ben answered. "She worked as a desk-jockey in General Ayers' command post during the war. It was destroyed in the final hours of Serenity. She must've survived somehow."
Ben paused for a moment and took Lindsi's hand in his. It felt comfortably warm. Everything about Lindsi just seemed so soothing.
"You know George, back then, the women on our side avoided me like the plague." Ben continued. "You know how people liked to exaggerate about things. Some of the rumors about me and the rest of the unit were just plain ridiculous, but people believed them nonetheless. Every woman on our side that I talked to turned me down, because of my reputation. But she, she didn't. Truth is, I've been looking for her for quite some time now, and now that I've found her... I..."
Ben paused again and looked at Lindsi. She was in bad shape and he hoped she would pull through. He didn't wait for ten years to find her just to see her die in front of him.
"Just ehm..." Ben said. "Do what you can for her. If anyone can patch her up, it's you George."

"I'll do everything I can," said George. He meant it. He was surprised he didn't recognize someone from the war, it seemed sometimes like he had met every soldier at some point or another. He began preparing to sew up the wound and check her vital signs.
After a few minutes he was done stitching and he applied a bandage to help keep it free from infection. "Well, she's going to live and all we can do now is wait for her to wake up," he added to Ben to be reassuring. He was being tasked with a job that required a great deal of trust and it honored George that Ben trusted him.
ooc: Sorry, for the short post there's not really much left for me to do here

Sidney watched as Jamie flew them passed the Alliance fleet. Everything seemed clear. That is as far as the ship when. They would be long passed the fleet shortly as long as Jamie kept course and there wasn't a hailing call from an alliance cruiser. "keep'er steady Jamie ya doin' good. Fine job fer a first run. Get ready to get us all the way out of here." He encouraged Jamie as he hit the intercom.
"Kalli, this thing is ready for a full run right the drive is all the way up? He said over the com-system to the engine room where he had seen Kalli run off to at the beginning of this whole mess. He remember her doing a lot of work on the ship when he first came on board. She spent a lot of time down there to get it up and running but he didn't know if it was all done.
He flipped the intercom over to get a hold of the med-bay where West and Ben where. "Ben were just about out of here getting ready to have Jamie get us free n' clear. Hows our new passenger?" Sidney questioned the captain. Everything had happened so quick Sidney was just trying to make sure everything was covered on all ends. "Let me know if there is anything we can do to help."

Jamie kept quiet as he flew the ship up and off planet, his nerves almost starting to get to him as they passed the Alliance ships, but he steadied himself, and steadied his hands. A smile crept over his face as the Orlando passed the Alliance ships, and he nodded as Sidney spoke. His first run, slipping past the alliance with them none-the-wiser, carting around a bunch of Independent vets. This just felt .. well, it just felt right.
He leaned over and grabbed the com after Sid was done. "Sidney's right, Kalli, I'm gonna punch it here in a sec and get the girl movin' pretty fast. Get 'er ready, let's get the hell outta here."
(OOC - Likewise sorry for the short post, as George said, not a lot to do right now 'cept fly)

Kalli had been down in the engine room since everything had started. She hadn't much idea of what had happened just that the captain needed them for something. She could smell the smoke that had wafted in to the ship when the cargo bay was opened up and the felt the bump of the ship on the building just moments before.
Everything was fine though they had started moving since then and there wasn't any indication that things had gone wrong, at least that she had been told about yet. The engine seemed to be running fine. The power generator was running but it seemed on the low end of the ships power needs. It wasn't a big deal though it was something she would have plenty of time to figure out later.
She started to give everything a quick check to see how all the systems were running when Sidney's voice came over the intercom. He didn't seem worried but he was asking how ready they were to engage the Firefly Drive. Then came Jamie's voice a moment later. There was a bit of concern in the way he spoke.
It was at that moment that Kalli became worried. Low power levels and he was talking about punching it. She new the ship and engine was fine but if the power levels were low how would the ship handle a full run? would it meet the power needs or would it drain the system?
"Jamie give me a minute before to go for it. I got low power on the generator. I think I can bypass a few things to get more to the drive. What's got us in such a rush? Is everyone alright? she asked trying to keep the frantic sound out of her voice as she rushed through the engine room looking for to do to draw off power for the engine. She looked things over and figured the best way was to cut power from unessential systems on the ship and divert to the engine just to get the Firefly drive going then reroute them back to where they belong.
It wasn't a big rush though as far as she knew they had already pick up the captain for sure if they were moving again and especially if they are talking about taking of out of there. Shouldn't take me long just got to reroute some power then we can be on our way. She stated as she looked over the power grid to find the best way to go about it.

((OOC:: Lindsi is pretty much going to stay out of it until the Homecoming thread. So sorry for the short posts))
Lindsi felt Ben take her hand in his, as it brought her out of her own head briefly, and she squeezed his gently. She heard a bit of his speech on how he had been searching for her. The thought that she had been doing the same for a while crossed her mind before everything got very fuzzy again. However, she seemed to be responding well to all of George's treatments.
Nevertheless, her consciousness was gone again.
