'an' a voice murmured through the darkness. Amaia let out a groan. Sang, you...wake up
Amaia forced her eyes open, only to be greeted by daylight and Miller standing over her, himself wounded. Her senses slowly came back, and the first thing she was greeted by was an incredibly painful headache, and the sharp sting of what Amaia could only assume was a broken nose.
"Miller, I..." She reached up and felt the blood on her face and in her hair. She growled in anger. "That no-good gorram flyboy, I ought to..."
She threw herself up and reached for her gun, but her body protested, throwing her brain into a loopy lightheadedness and making her nearly fall. She grabbed onto Miller for support.
"That boy had better pray, because once I'm good enough to walk, I'm beating him to an inch of his life, mark my words." She pulled herself up with Miller's help. "Is the bastard loaded on the skiff?"
As she looked at Miller, she realized no answer needed to be given. She sighed and walked back to the skiff after picking up her gun and bag. She saw the girl in the back of the skiff and smiled. "At least there's this, the Captain should be rather happy at the sight of the girl."
She hopped in the back of the skiff, yielding the driver seat to Miller. "The second we find out which boat that pilot was from, we hunt it down," Amaia said. "This isn't over." She looked down at Arabella and grinned rather slyly. "And I do believe we have an ace in the hole, if her crew gives a damn at all about her."
