New Alliance Ship

Here we shall commence discussion on the yet to be named new alliance vessel that will be captain'ed by the beloved Ethan Pike ^_^

Here are some of my thoughts:

The ship (thinking about calling it the Phoenix... not definite as yet, suggestions welcome!) is a small ship, pretty small crew.

It's essentially a ship for Alliance mavericks, people who are skilled, useful to the Alliance, but not just a mindless drone. So people who don't exactly fit in with the Alliance but are somehow related to them are the ideal type.

Mercenaries/drifters/unsure are also welcome, as long as they have some reason for being aboard ( i.e., being blackmailed by the alliance or some such thing.)

Ethan's whole thing is this: he's an exceptional captain, but insubordinate in the extreme. he doesn't like taking orders from people, and won't follow any order he thinks is wrong. On the other hand, he's still loyal to the Alliance. He's been court-martialed 4 times by the Alliance brass for insubordination and such, and has been assigned this ship so that he can do his own thing without much supervision.

The Alliance is figuring that they can send this little boat out and have them do missions that a bigger ship couldn't do - track smugglers, investigate disappearances, and other stuff.

If I may put in a suggestion of ship class: the Mantis class;

-At least 1 shuttle
-10 quarters

I was also thinking maybe we could have a chance for the new Alliance ship to dock at the Esteem for repairs or whatever it would give a chance for Ethan Pike to be back on board it for a short visit and also allow for that nsubordinate stuff to happen with Admiral Tigh. It is of course up to you guys but could be of interest.

That sounds great! IIRC, we were talking about having the new ship's first mission be to investigate the Carnivale - maybe Admiral Tigh is the one to give that assignment to Ethan and co? That would be an interesting thread.

Yeah that sounds like a great plan. I am sure it would make an interesting thread and it would give a chance for the crew of the Esteem to have a bit more to do as well.

Okay, folks, I am having terrible difficulties with choosing a name. I thought up Phoenix as a possibility, and Erik threw in Hydra, and now I am stuck between the two.

Thoughts? Any other suggestions that you can think of just to make me more indecisive? xD

Hey, I may be doing something wrong here - if so, I'm sorry. But, on the assumption that I'm not, you got any use for a pilot who's desperate for a boat, any boat gonig anywhere?

Hey there! No, you aren't doing anything wrong.

Unfortunately we just picked up a pilot for the Phoenix, but we do have an opening for a mechanic - I read your app, and it looks like Sunil has some understanding of ship mechanics, yeah? If you want to have him aboard as mechanic, that would work fine. ^.^

Does the Trinity have a pilot I don't know about? Otherwise that might be a good place to look for work.
