[January 20th, 2523]
Sibil and her team were still busy pretty much twenty-four seven. They were finally approved for additional security forces, one group of which were to arrive today. Though the chief of security wasn't too comfortable with this decision. There must be some shortage of available forces because the Alliance was sending them a group of mercenaries, called White Arrow, in addition to what would be following over the next weeks.
The security team had been changed up, there was now two officers to a quarter now. Sibil's room-ate became Adamala Secore, the ensign she first met when she joined the Esteem.
She was worried a little about these men, how well they would fall under her command and all. Sibil waited at the shuttle bay for them to arrive, a small group of her officers accompanied her. Just in case of course, and she was the chief of security. Best to not chance her meeting a bunch of mercs alone.
A middle man of sorts had been decided upon to be the go-between for the security team and the mercenaries. Drevin Bendis.

Drevin waited in his seat for the shuttle to dock with the Esteem. He already knew that him and his squad was providing protection for the cruiser, although security from what he hadn't been told.
Drevin smiled and thought to himself, "Ruttin' Feddies. Even after the Miranda incident they haven't figured out how to tell folks important information."
The shuttle bumped slightly and Drevin heard a hiss as the docking tunnel from the shuttle to the cruiser was put into place. Drevin had been assigned as the "middle man" between the head of security on board the Esteem and his squad leader, so he was the first one off the shuttle.
He stepped out of the tunnel into the shuttle bay to find a group of officers along with who Drevin presumed to be the chief of security.
Ignoring the officers, Drevin strode up to the chief and said, "Hey there. I'm Drevin Bendis, an' you would be...?"

Finally the shuttle was docking, though they hadn't been waiting long, there was alot on the Lieutenant Commander's plate right now. The first man out of the shuttle would either be the head of the White Arrow squad or her point of contact.
The man who exited first made his way directly toward her, she had slightly expected him to be surprised about her. Sibil was young and female - not the usual run of the mill chiefs of security. He didn't seem bothered at all by it though, which was good for them getting along. At least a little.
Sibil held her hand out to the man when he introduced himself, no salute needed since he wasn't military - "Lieutenant Commander Sibil Tucker Mister Bendis, nice to meet you."
This wasn't intended to be an extraordinarily long meeting, just your standard establish chain of command and what's expected of his team. Sibil held out her arm inviting Drevin to walk with her, "I don't expect to keep you very long as there's alot for my team and I to be doing. There's a small meeting room down the hall a bit though and we can talk there, if that's alright with you." She gave him a slight smile, unused to having interaction with those not part of the military.

Drevin smiled, trying to be as friendly as he could out of politeness. He shook her hand and said, "Same to you, Miss Tucker."
Drevin looked behind him to see the rest of his squad unloading themselves and their equipment from the shuttle. The squad leader dumped down his crate of personal effects then wandered over to Drevin.
Drevin greeted him with a nod and said, "Commander Tucker, this is Warden Cravski, Warden bein' his rank, Cravski his name."
Cravski nodded to Turner then started talking in his broad Russian accent to Drevin, "Listen Drevin, I will unload your things from the shuttle, you don't need to worry about it. But I will need to speak to the commander and you in private."
Drevin nodded and said, "Well, the commander here has very kindly offered to meet us in a meetin' room down the hall. Please commander, lead the way."

Well the man seemed nice enough so far, proper greeting and all. Perhaps this would work out better than she expected. After the initial introduction Sibil noted another man from the group approaching them, who turned out to be the leader. One Warden Cravski, a russian man from his name and the accent he spoke with. Sibil smiled and nodded in greeting as Drevin introduced her to the man. She did sigh a little inside when he called her commander, he was only half correct, and that one word missing in her rank would probably ruffle some feathers.
"of course warden, if the two of you will follow me." she led the way down the hall, only taking ensign Secore with her. She was trying to give her partner as much exposure to learning as she could. Adamala would apparently need to stay outside the room though for this part. Sibil wasn't worried about it though, this was her ship, folks would be a bit lacking in the smarts to attack her here.
Sibil held the door open and let the two men enter first, giving the signal to Secore to stay outside for the time being. "first off gentlemen it will probably be best to address me as Sibil or just Tucker, I don't think that the actual officers who are commanders would appreciate hearing you and your men addressing me that way. Though a promotion in rank is what I'm aiming for eventually." she grinned. With any luck she might get said promotion before this tour ended. Any promotion after this probably wouldn't be happening. Having Tigh as a commanding officer had been a stroke of luck for her carreer.

Drevin and Cravski followed the security chief into the room and smiled at each other at her statement.
"I'd be glad to, Miss Sibil." Replied Drevin, "Although where I come from I was taught to always address someone that is my superior with a title, so what I'm wonderin' is if you would tell me which one you would prefer, Miss or something else entirely."
Cravski then said, "It is the same for me. I have always been taught to use a title with anyone who is superior or a woman, so with you it is a rule that applies twice."
Drevin cut in and said, "In fact, why don't you tell us later. Right now, me and Cravski need to know as to what type of armament the ship has in it's armouries due to the fact that we didn't bring any of our own ammo or weapons, only the stuff we would need to put in our quarters." Cravski nudged him. "And we would need to know what the policy for alcohol consumption on board is.

Sibil nodded her head as both men responded to her comments. She was about to respond but Drevin cut in and instead rather have had questions to be answered. She smiled slightly as the questions were given.
"As far as our armory, we've got pretty much anything and everything. You're free to sign-out just about anything you like, weapons that could pierce the hull, while few; must be approved by the Admiral.' The chief of security moved to lean against a large desk in the front of the room and smiled. 'Alcohol consumption is allowed, so long as you aren't on duty. Unfortunately with all of the work, there is little time off to be had until the rest of our secondary security forces arrive. I've been running nineteen hour days myself since the beginning of the month when we got our orders."
It had been a long month, and it wasn't even over yet. Their additional forces were coming at random rather than all at once. "Crew quarters are doubled up at the moment, but if you have a problem sharing rooms you can always see if the Admiral will allow you to use some of the passenger quarters. Since your group isn't in the military, you might get lucky." Sibil grinned. They hadn't picked up very many officers in the way of passengers anyway so their chances were quite good in reality.
"In regards to titles and such, you can call me 'Miss' that's fine. If you're looking for something more formal you can use my full rank, Lieutenant Commander. I would avoid cutting it short to just Commander though, as I said it would probably not sit well with those that actually have that rank."

Drevin smiled. "Of course, Miss Sibil. The quarters should be no problem. We've just spent the last 2 weeks on a shuttle where we were sharin' rooms with 5 guys at once, so they'll all be glad with only having one other guy in the room with them. I'll see if the more senior members can passenger quarters, though. Those guys were always complaining about sleeping with grunts, including the Warden here."
Cravski nodded and said, "Miss Sibil, me and my friend here must be going to tell the men about our arrangements. Thank you, by the way. We haven't had work for almost 2 months, so this will be good for the men, and for us."
They both left the room and headed back towards the cargo bay. Once they were sure they were out of earshot of Sibil, Cravski quietly whispered to Drevin, "When do we make our move?"
Drevin whispered back, "We wait until they trust us and let us settle in a bit, then we make our move."

Tigh had been going about his daily routines, his paper work was caught up and the ship was in order, any new orders had been passed down and he had gotten word of the new security showing up on the ship. It wasn't exactly what he had wanted but it would work for now till more alliance security showed up.
He had been maknig his rounds checking in with the section chiefs and he still needed to get ahold of Sibil before reporting in to central command about their current progress. Lucky for him he knew exactly where to find her and it seemed his timing was perfect. Their new guest had just stepped out of the room and walked away.
Tigh walked up to Sibil. "Whats the status of the security department Lieutenant Commander, and what can you tell me about our guests?" He had been asking her nearly every day how things were gonig with the department and the efforts on the ground but to be honest this time his focus was on the new guests. He didn't like the ide of non-Alliance security on his ship.

Sibil nodded at Drevin's response. Even she was bunking with another person now, she wasn't exempt from things like that. At least she didn't want to be. Perhaps it was a bit odd for the Chief of Security to do the same thing she expected her own people to do, but it was how she liked it. The Admiral didn't speak ill about her actions or decisions either.
The meeting went shorter than expected, but they did have a shuttle to unload. They could continue the discussion later that day. "Of course Warden. We can continue the meeting later once you and your men are settled. We have a schedule to work out along with duties. Just so we are clear though, in case anyone neglected to tell you in your negotiations on your contract. This is my security team Warden, I am in charge of things on the Esteem. That includes you and your men."
Sibil sighed after the two men left, she wasn't sure how this was all going to work out. That's the problem with mercenaries, things tended to not go as planned. The Lieutenant Commander much preferred to have things planned out and such, protocol and procedures.
She looked up as Tigh entered the room, she smiled slightly and stood straight up; giving him a salute before leaning against the desk again. Sibil was finally starting to be a little more relaxed around the Admiral, it was hard not to be considering all of their interaction. They spoke very often, especially since he still had not chosen a first mate yet.
Part of her wanted that position, but then again it was alot more work than she was already doing. She was getting along okay with things as they were but she'd been working nineteen hour days every day to get everything done. Again doing things that she expected of her team herself as well. Her entire security force needed some time off, she hoped that their additional forces would arrive quicker so at least they could rest some. Sibil wasn't going to be able to though, once more officers arrived she would be just as busy. She needed a second to herself, someone to help her with things, but none of her officers were trained enough for such responsibility. Though she was hopeful that eventually Adamala would be well versed enough, or perhaps someone from the additional forces.
"Tired as hell Admiral, just like every other day you ask." She grinned a little at him, he knew how hard they were working. With the thought of their guests she sighed again, "Hard to say, I don't trust them though Sir to be honest. I'm a bit shocked that the Alliance would hire mercenaries to pull security on my ship...err your ship I mean. Sorry." 'Way to put your foot in your mouth Sibil', she mused to herself as she ran her hand through her hair. She did think of the ship as hers though, she was in charge of keeping it safe.

Tigh and Sibil were starting to be pretty comfortable with each other, it was to be expected with how much they interact. He checked in with her everyday and probibly spent more time with here then any of his other chiefs. The reason for that of course was two fold, she was his busiest chief and the one he liked the one. She showed the most potential. In fact in his seach to find someone to be his first mate she was standing out as his best candidate
TIgh smiled at her comments about being tired and that this was her ship. She was quick to correct herself and say it was his ship but to be honest he saw no issue with her calling it her ship. THis ship was all of theirs and he would expect her to feel like it was hers. It ment she was deticated to it, felt like it was her responcability. Tigh figured he would have a bot of fun with her, he understood the hours she was going through they were the same for him.
"Your ship huh, Lieutenant Commander. Maybe I should let you run things then and I'll worry about the security department for a day." His voice was very apparent that he was joking with her and that he had no ill will. Maybe before he would have played it up a bit and acted like he was serious but he liked sibil and she was starting to catch on to when he was messing with her. "Admiral for a day what do you say?"
Tigh walked over and leaned on one of the file cabnets in the room. "I agree though you got to be careful with the undisaplined mercenaries. Word is though we are getting some more uniformed security as well soon. I'll leave it to your discression to decide if you want to keep them on after that or not." He put a lot of trust in her with this choice but it was her people and she would know what was best for them.

Sibil had done it now, saying it was her ship and all. Her eyes widened at his joke, she laughed, couldn't help it. He was crazy! Putting her in charge of the ship? "With all due respect Admiral, I'm likely to crash and kill us all!" Her voice was obviously joking, but really the thought scared her. Sure she could deal with being in charge of about one hundred officers just fine, the additional forces they were due was going to push her limits as it was. To be in charge of the entire Esteem? That thought was a little overwhelming.
She nodded at his words about the mercenaries. It was definitely a group to keep an eye on. "Word doesn't do us any good, we need the officers." Sibil sighed softly thinking about how hard her people were having to work as of late. "It's hard to wrap my mind around whoever's decision it was to assign us the entire planet of Persephone with only one hundred security personnel; how that sounded like a good idea.." She looked at Tigh, her eyes showed confusion. It was something she thought about off and on, even had talked about it with her partner, Adamala.
"As far as the mercenaries go Admiral, I was thinking about keeping them confined to security for the Esteem. We could set up another shuttle or two for inspections, and they wouldn't have any impact on citizens that way." Perhaps over time if they proved themselves they could do other things for them. For now they needed to be kept on a short leash and a constant eye on them.
"I'd like to see about putting a couple of my men with them for their shifts, to keep an eye on them. Right now I don't see any reason not to keep them aboard down the road, we can use all the help we can get."

Tigh was amused by Sibil's thoughts that she would crash and kill them all. He had faith in her that she wouldn't plus when he did make her take charge for a day he would make sure the flight crew didn't allow her near the controls. "Guess there is only one way to find out right?" He mused as he thought the concept over a bit.
Tigh lifted himself back up from his lean agains the cabinet and walked toward the door. "I think thats a good plan Lieutenant Commander. We'll have an easier time keeping an eye on them for now if they are kept here on the ship. As far as putting some of your men in with them, that will of course be at your discression as long as we manage to keep on top of all our tasks." She had a lot on her plate and he knew that. He honestly wished there was more he could do to help but he himself was swamped as well. The good thing for her is she still got out and had time to see the action.
Everyday for him was check the report of all departments, bout 50 pages to read first thing in the morning, file it all then report the previous days events to Centeral command. Then it was off to deal with bridge duty followed by checking in with all his section chiefs. Not to mention anything else that could come up, and there always was something. It made for one hell of a day and eventually he would need a first mate to assist with it all. "You know I am serious about testing you on running the ship some day right?" He said as he opened the door for her to follow him out.

Sibil's amusement faded slightly at Tigh's words, he sounded like he was actually considering it. The man must be crazy. She only shook her head and smiled as he began to move toward the door, which caused her to move as well. She was glad he approved of her plans for the group White Arrow. "Of course Admiral." Her voice was one of reassurance. She only had plans to put maybe two of her men with the mercenaries. It wouldn't change anything as far as their tasks.
In fact it would add to them, Sibil would need to get with Lieutenant Owen and Lieutenant Commander Cavina about getting a new shuttle set up. They would be able to have at least one more, if not two.
Sibil stopped in her tracks as Tigh opened the door, holy hell what had she gotten herself into. There was nervousness and excitement all at once going through her mind. On one hand it would be a great test of her abilities and possibly show that she could someday actually become an Admiral. Unless she royally failed, which was on the other hand, the fear of failure. Despite her inner turmoil about the situation she replied mostly confident, "I look forward to the challenge Admiral." Though he would know her well enough by now that the nervousness was present in her voice but she wouldn't seriously express it.
As the two of them made their way into the hallway and began walking, Sibil made motion for Adamala to follow. Though all she had to do now was give the girl a look and she knew. She had explained to Ensign Secore that she was to learn all she could so that perhaps the girl could advance her career. Sibil had high hopes for her, especially since at the moment she could use the help. Few of her officers had shown the promise that Adamala had, despite the first few days on board.

Tigh could sence there was a bit of worry in Sibil's voice about the challange he was goig to present her with. It was a good thing though anone who went in to the command of a ship and wasn't worried about doing it was destine to fail. It is a hard job and something always goest wrong time time to time. He was confedent she would do fine at it thought. She would have her issues but for him there is not a day that goes by that he doesn't question some choice he had that day.
he began to walk down the hall heading toward the cargo bay. It was time to get a look at the White Arrow crew that had shown up to assist them. "How about you introduce me to our new friend Lieutenant Commander." He wanted to see if he could feel them out a bit. See what they were like and if they would manage as a good fir to the Esteem.
