Layla hated feeling this way, she felt weak. This was supposed to be a nice evening out with Cadan, and now she was upset and crying over things she couldn't change. Despite it all this man had not just up and left her behind. There was something to be thankful for. She took a deep breath, then another, and another. Trying to put the turmoil aside and focus on what was in front of her.
Cadan had broken the silence first, again saying the sweet things he always did to her. She smiled. Slowly Layla let herself relax, leaning back into the arms of her Romeo. The tears were subsiding as she continued to talk herself down. "Thank you." She managed to say to him, her voice still a whisper.
It was another few minutes of silence before he spoke again, asking about her resolution for the new year. How she wished the past could be forgotten or changed. That wasn't realistic though. Layla thought for a moment, then she smiled again. "I want to run away and be with you Cadan. I love you." She kissed him on the cheek and pressed her head close to his. "What's yours?"

Cadan was extatic that he finally got her talking and comfortable, at least to some extent. And her words were like music to him. She would run away with him still, even after all they had said to each other. He would run away with her to the ends of the verse, to Miranda itself if that is what she wanted.
for a second he stopped to think of what he would want. He again wrapped his arms around her and looked up to the fireworks that were becoming more and more intense as the show went on. A smile slide over his face as he thought of what he would resolve to do. "I've got in narrowed daahhn ter two things. the first and lesser of the two, I wanna go aahht and change the verse." The smile presisted as he spoke. Before going on to the next part he kissed her on the cheek.
"Second and by far more important. I wanna sha ya 'a 'appy we can be, when we 're free from everythin' that 'olds us back." Again he looked back up to the fireworks and watched for a while. "Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love." He then leaned around her so he could look her in the eye. He could still see the water in her eyes even though they had stopped at this point he could still see the trails down her cheeks. "I love you too." Even in her worse moments he couldn't help but see how beautiful she was.

It was going to take Layla awhile to feel normal again, Cadan new her ugly truth, it would take some time for her to adjust to that fact. She worried that after tonight she wouldn't see him again and he was just playing it off as okay for right now. Layla took her attention back to the fireworks that were still going off. They were beautiful.
She smiled as Cadan shared his own resolution for the year, he had a way with words. Which made sense because of his love of Shakespeare. When he leaned closer to her she nervously started wiping her face, she'd been crying. Though she didn't wear too much makeup the urge still hit her as he looked at her. Layla tried to smile, it was only a slight smile. "You and your charming words." Then she kissed him.
There was some talking as they continued to watch the show, before her stomach reminded her she hadn't eaten. "I completely forgot we had food too." Layla sat up and pulled the basket closer to them so they could both just snack while continuing to be close and watching the show.
