Smuggler's Ally, New Cannan: January 24th 2523
The Trnity had made its landing on New Cannan and contacted one Mr. Dover. Mr. Dover had his staff at the warehouse waiting for the Trinity crews arrival. He had more important business to attend to. He was meeting with a companion so he had left. Rick, his second in command in charge of dealing with the deliver.
Rick and six others were standing around the warehouse impatiently anticipating their arrival. "Whats taking them so gor'ram long Rick, they are supposed to be here by now." one of the men asked. "What does it matter as long as the drop is made. I could care less as long as Mr. Dover gets what he is after."
"Why are we even taking this shipment anyway. Nothing in it is going to make us any money." Rick just renturned the comment with a glare. "Just be ready and shut the hell up." As they spoke the companions shuttle showed up and landed behind the back of the place. That is the part they had been waiting for, now their job could go ahead. Surely any minute now the Trinity crew would be showing up with the cargo.

The ship had landed not long before on New Cannan and Sidney had taken a moment to let the crew know the final details of the plan. They were to keep the people at the wearhouse distracted as long as they could so that Cadan and Tari could get in and get the file. Kalli would have their leader distracted as well. They would make the drop but be ready for anything if things went wrong they were most likely out numbered and would have to fall back yet still provide as much cover for Tari and Cadan.
They had set out with the supplies to the wearhouse just a bit before Kalli set out in the shuttle. Tari and Cadan had split of to do there part. How exactly they got in, well that was up to them, Sidney trusted Tari had a way to make it happen.
Just as they were walking up to the wearhouse SIdney noticed Kalli's shuttle land behind the place. It was game time, everything was in place. He looked the crew over. "Everyone ready?" He asked them all as they made the last bit of the walk.

"Yeah, how far are we willing to go to buy time for the others?" Roger asked. "And by that I mean are we willing to shoot first if they start leaving to go catch the others?"
Knowing the rules of engagement could mean the difference between a mission that ended in some dead enemies but the objective secured and a mission that end with dead friends and nothing to show for it. Of course walking in and out without shooting at all would be best, it was however far from certain that things would play out that way.
Roger was ready as a one man arsenal if needed, carrying more heat than he even had on Persephone. His standard pistol was holstered by his left shoulder with a twin now on the other side. He had a compact pistol on his lower-back and a sub-compact in his boot. Moving to heavier weaponry, he had a sawed-off shotgun attached to swivel and fire directly from his left hip and on his right rested a submachinegun crammed into a custom oversize thigh holster. His duster hid the true extent of his weaponry from the casual observer. Yes, they'd be having no trouble having fire superiority so long as the enemy had nothing the size of a light machinegun.

Just before they arrived Roger spoke up and Sidney was quick to reply. "Any sign of trouble I have no problem with shooting our way through it. Everyone goes in, everyone comes out, got it." Sidney was straight to the point they didn't have time to mess around.
The walked up the the door of the place and there were seven people waiting to greet them. "Evening gentlemen. We have your cargo for you." Sidney dropped the cargo he was carrying. The rest of the cargo had been pulled along by the mule and in others hands.
None of the men at the door looked to be armed, at least not carrying the weapons in hand. several did have holstered pistols and such. "Everything is here if you would like to check it out. Then we can get to the issue of payment." Sidney looked in to the wearhouse, he didn't see Tari or Cadan, a good sign really if he could see them so could the goons that were there.

THe crew had arrived and met the wearhouse staff. They would make the trade quick and then get out them out of there so they could take the companion. "Good to see you finally made it, your late so we will make this quick." Rick said as he waved the rest of his men over to come off load the supplies.
They quickly moved in and began off loading things setting them just at the door of the wearhouse. Up above on the catwalk one of the men watched as they began the interaction but it didn't take long till he backed off from watching and went back to partolling the wearhouse.
"No need to discuss paymnt. Got it all here plus a bit of a bonus." Rick replied to sidneys last statement. He handed the payment over to him and returned to off laoding fter a few minutes everything was off the mules. "I wish we had time to stay and chat but the boss wants us back to work right away. Best of luck to you out there fellas."
The rest of Ricks men were gathering up the supplies and moving them inside the door. Rick turned to walk away and was caught off guard by a loud bang followed by another. In a swift turn he pulled his gun and pointed it toward the trinity crew. "What the hell is this?" He said as he backed up to get behind the cover of the side of the door. The rest of his men began to do the same.
He heard more shot fire off inside nd before he could react one of the other men began to shoot the battle was on. Rick took aim at one of the trinity crew and squeezed off a round before disapearing back in to the building. He looked around inside and saw one of the men on the inside laying on the floor dead. They had attacked them from behind as well.

The meet and greet was going well. The cargo was transferred and Sidney had received payment. Roger only hoped things were going as smooth for the rest of the crew. That worry was soon answered in the negative as the distinct sound of gunfire came from inside the warehouse. No use playing dumb at this point and it was good that Roger had asked about their rules of engagement beforehand.
As soon as he heard the first shot, Roger began to move into action. Adrenaline flooded through his system and time seemed to slow as he reached for his heaviest weapons. By the time of the second shot and their opponents reacting in earnest, Roger was ready to fire. Without having to unholster, he had swiveled the shotgun on his hip, pointing it to the nearest enemy and firing two blasts of 00 buck right for center mass.
Meanwhile his right hand already had the submachinegun free of its holster and ready for use. The gunhand sprayed lead at the opposing group, catching anyone out in the open and keeping the others pinned behind cover. It wasn't an efficient use of ammunition but it would serve its purpose of buying time for the rest of the Trinity crew to react.
With two weapons already empty, Roger's legs instinctively gave out causing him to drop immediately to the ground and out of the certain returning barrage of fire. From there he rolled behind solid cover in order to reload and begin more precision work of focusing fire and picking off enemies.

Stay back and guard the ship, that was sensible, right? Meilin hadn't gone with the others to the warehouse, they had the mule for hauling and she wouldn't be much good in a firefight. So she stayed on the ship, even when Sakura ran to assist the others. Tari might have been stable and sleeping peacefully, but she still didn't want to leave her alone.
Meilin had borrowed a rifle, she wasn't sure who it belonged to, just so she wasn't standing there with a kitchen knife if any trouble did make it all the way to the ship. Meilin hadn't ever shot a rifle before, but she'd seen her mother threaten people off their property with one before. At least she knew enough to see the the rifle was loaded, the safety was off, and she had an idea of how to aim.
She took a position just inside the cargo bay, and used the scope to watch the direction of the warehouse. If it came right down to it, Meilin was sure she could shoot someone. Even if the very thought of it made her uncomfortable. There was only one way to find out and hopefully she wouldn't have to come to that point today.

Like everyone else Sidney had thought everything was going fine till the rounds started to fly inside the building. as soon as they did he pulled his revolver and raised it to take aim. He squeezed the trigger and let the first round fly. As he did Rick had done the same taking aim at him. Sidney could feel the sting in his side. It had only grazed him but would leave it's lasting mark. Sidney didn't move instead he let three more round fly down range toward the men who were seeking cover at the door to the building. He could hear Rogers rifle providing cover fire by this one and Sidney walked forward getting next to the mule where he would have the option of taking cover. One of the peoples heads raised out from behind the cargo they had just dropped and Sidney let slip two more rounds, then dropped behind the mule to reload. He could hear more bursts of fire now coming from the wearhouse. They were in for a fight at this point. That is when he saw the shuttle carening over head away from the fight, it was heading the wrong way, away from the Trinity. "Cover and fall back. get to the Trinity." His focus had shifted. They needed to find a way to egress from the fight and find that shuttle. It would take a bit of effort for them to fall back from this fight though.

The shots began to ring out from what seemed like all directions. four of the seven men had already been dropped by the two but Rick had made sure to pack a surprise for any chance issue with the crew. He had expected that trouble might come of the situation and had put another teem of seven men in the building ajacent to the wearhouse.
From the upper floor of the place bullets began to rain down on the Trinity crew offering them little to no cover at this point. In clear view to Sidney he would be able to see a man taking aim at Roger's position but with the others from the wearhouse laying down rounds right over Sidneys head he wouldn't be able to get an easy shot off.
The Trinity's crew was stuck in a position that would require them to withdraw if they wanted to walk away from the situation. At this point Rick made his way to the back of the wearhouse to where the shuttle took of and then made his way down the Ally that Tari and Cadan had taken not long ago, unknowingly headed strat toward the Trinity and directly in the path of Layla and Cadan.

Layla and Cadan were running, carefully but still running. Heading to the drop spot where Sid, James, and the others were. Layla was a mix of worried and angry; worried about the crew and angry that things had turned for the worst. She had both of her pistols drawn and ready, so far they hadn't encountered anyone yet. They could hear the gunfire off in the distance though.
Suddenly a man came around the corner, one she didn't recognize. Layla slowed her pace as she stared at him, waiting to see if he was on the wrong side of her anger. As the distance between them closed he began to pull a gun, Layla didn't hesitate, didn't think. She raised both of her pistols and fired off several shots into the man. Keeping her guns ready in case there were others behind him. James had taught her well, very well.
Once it was clear that the man had been alone Layla picked up her pace yet again. She'd only assumed that Cadan was with her the entire time, her concern at the moment was getting to her brother and the other crew. As they moved she worked on dropping the near-empty clips from her pistols and reloaded them.
They were finally close enough, Layla could hear and see the men on the upper floors keeping their gunfire aimed in one direction. It had to be where the crew was. She waited until they were close enough to provide some cover before she took to firing her guns. Getting behind some crates Layla rained into the men on the upper floor, hopefully providing enough opportunity for the crew to make a move.

Cadan ran along side Layla the whole way his heart pumping as if it was going to come out of his chest he had been around when gun shots where fired before but that always left him running the opposite direction even if they weren't ment for him. He was not a fighter and what had happened earlier was just a lucky shot.
When the other mand turned down the ally they were in he figured it was someone doing exactly what he would normally have done, run for somewhere safer. THen he pulled a gun, Cadan had the shotgun already up and ready but he hesitated and before he could pull the trigger Layla had already finished the job. He paused for a moment as she kep running. 'What just happened' He thought to himself before he rushed to catch back up as they turned the corner he could see people all over and hear gunshots comming from everywhere.
He kept running as Layla stopped to take shots at the men on the roof. Cadan instead ran in to where he saw the crew and slide in behind the mule with Sidney. "We gotta get the bloody hell aahhht of 'ere." He said to him as he scanned the scene and saw Roger on the ground just a little bit from them. He kept his head low and ran to Rogers side worried he might be hurt, pumping rounds off the whole way there in the direction of the wearhouse. Not realizing it but one of the blast from the shotgun actually hit one more of the men leaving only one now left at the wearhouse. "Ya alwigh', lets get ya aahhht of 'ere."

Things turned from bad to worse as fire erupted from a rooftop on their exposed flank. Luckily his suppressive fire combined with Sidney's precision fire had already devastated those targets on ground level by the warehouse. Instinctively, Roger rolled around the other side of his cover now to be marginally protected from the roof but exposed to the remaining hostiles on the ground.
Not that Roger felt like they needed saving but Layla and Cadan showed up followed by Sakura turning the tide back in the favor of the Trinity. "Yeah, I'm working on that." Roger replied to Cadan as he took aim and dropped the last warehouse guard. The assessment that an ambush/double cross was not a great place to be was blatantly obvious but it was still good to see the duke's man actually brave enemy fire to try and help. It nearly covered up the fact that he had ratted them out to the feds earlier... nearly.
Though Cadan was being brave and reckless now, he was still thinking in terms of fleeing and saving himself. Only now 'himself' included the rest of the crew. Roger however wasn't about to go running with his tail between his legs. He would of course like to take out all those guys on the roof but that objective was a bit out of reach. If they were going to pull out then it would be orderly and Roger would be covering them as they went.

Sidney had finsihed reloading when Cadan showed up. His evaluation of the situation an obvious one. Sidney watched as Cadan ran out through the thick of battle, a sight he hadn't expected from the self serving young thief. He gave no more then a grunt in reply to Cadan's suggestion. Before moving to jion Cadan and Roger, Sidney remained under cover of the mule and pulled a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up. After a few quick drags he pulled a second pistol from the holster at his bag then stood up. Slowly he walked over to the other two while shooting to the roof top. Another one of the targets fell from the roof there were mearly 6 remaining up there now. As he reached to them he lowerd down to the cover they were behind and continued to shot. "Wheres Tari!" He belted at Cadan. He had already assumed it would be bad new.

Layla fired off all her clips from her pistols, unsure if she actually hit anyone but at least it served as a distraction. She'd had to duck down a couple times to avoid a return of fire from the gunmen. That time gave her the chance to reload, putting another set of clips into her pistols before beginning again.
Cadan had run over to the crew as she had begun to fire at the rooftop, they needed to hurry up. She only had one more set of clips after the ones she'd just reloaded with. She heard Sidney yelling at Cadan about Tari, taking the initiative she yelled in return at him. "She's on the Trinity in the infirmary! Can't we do the chatting thing later when we're not being shot at Sid?"
As she finished the last few words Layla was back to returning fire at the men on the rooftop, finally making a clear kill as one of them plummeted down. Exciting day it had turned out to be.
