First Timers

[Drusilla Pardieu]

Dru had decided to sit quietly for awhile, observe their new arrival. While she wasn't suspicious of him per-say, she also didn't know him, of course she didn't know any of the other crew too much either. Jordan's comment did make her smile though. The Mercenary hadn't actually said that exactly, but the pile of guns laying on the side-table did wonders she guessed.

She did notice the changes, even slightly, in Jordan when Jeff mentioned the Alliance. Which didn't really bode well for the mechanic, considering that Dru knew Lars was friendly to the Alliance. She herself had been in the military for a few years, but of course didn't consider herself part of it anymore. When folks had grudges though they tended to go beyond what you currently were like and into who you used to be.

As the conversations went on her attentions shifted to each person. Taking in everything they were saying. At Jeff's mention about reavers Dru glanced at everyone's reaction, while the stories about them were right horrible, she'd never encountered them herself. Her gaze halted when she got to Jordan, her eyes narrowing. She was crying, 'now what brought that on...the reavers?' Dru mused to herself. Her jaw clenched a bit as she got up from the table. Walking over to Jordan, Drusilla held out her hand to the mechanic to help her up. There was no humor in her face, perhaps a very slight concern if one looked long enough at her. Once to her feet Dru led Jordan from the dining area by her elbow without a word and to the cargo-bay.

Speaking to Trace.......

'It a sonic weapon, no projectile, and some what non-lethal, that is for those who don't know how to modify one to max out it's potential.'

Retrieving the weapon he locked the controls and powered it off while he handed it to Trace.

'It comes in handy for punching up people and making a non-lethal point when they aren't listening'

Jeff spooned himsef a bowl of soup and slupped at it heartly enjoying every spoonful.

"Oh, sounds like it might give you a bit of a headache," Said Trace with a nervous laugh,as he gently accepted the weapon, and looked it over. He set it down again and eyed it suspiciously. He was distracted by the somewhat abrupt exit of Dru and Jordan, but he thought he might have some idea of what it was about. "Captain, and well I guess this goes for you too Weston," He said nervous about how to break it to them, "I probably should have told you about this sooner, but well, it slipped my mind." He paused, and then went on. "I don't know all the details about it, but Jordan has some issue with reavers. Not like the normal fear that most of us have, but a genuine hatred. Captain, the reason she was pulling knives on me was cuz i mentioned them, and well, Weston when you said Reaver, she sorta broke down." He paused, unsure of what to say. "I don't know much, just that maybe we should avoid the subject?"

[Lars Engström]

Lars had been confused by the sudden change of dynamics in the room. One minute everything had seemed fine, then Jordan was all but crying, and she had been led out of the room by Dru of all people. Not that he was upset by Dru's sudden change in demeanor, he liked nice Dru more than rowdy and mad Dru, but things were getting very odd indeed. Then Trace had said that Jordan had some issue with reavers. Then he remembered something he had heard about awhile ago, how sometimes not everyone in a reaver attack was killed. "Wuh de tyen, ah" Said Lars, as his mind caught up with reality, and put all that he had just seen together. "Not this." He jumped up from the table and ran towards the cargo bay to find Jordan.

[Jeff Weston]

Jeff sat down his spoon. A silent hatered washed over him as he thought back to his loose words.

'I'm sorry bout that I forget that many don't have the hardening training that I have had.'

Grabbing his bowl he raised it and drain it swallowing what was left of his bowl.

'Excuse me, I ... I'll be outside if you all need me.'

Getting up he gathered his sonic gun and moved out into a hallway finding a corner to make his own. Unlocking it he low waved a micro back-feed pulse to recharge the cell. It would take but a few minutes enough time to have a good think.

[Trace Kennet]

Trace slumped in his chair. In less than a minute, he had watched everyone else in the room leave in some sort of emotional state, only weston had contained his. Trace walked over and retrieved some soup, before returning to the table and sitting again. He played with it, his appetite vanishing. He couldn't hear anything, other than the humm of the ships internal workings. Well, he thought, this is just a wonderful meal isn't it...

[Lars Engström]

Lars walked slowly into the common area, lost in thought.He noticed Trace, but said nothing. He merely made his way to the couch and tumbled onto it. He was lost in thought. He merely remained silent. and tried to understand what had just happened. He could have kicked himself. He shouldn't have acted like that and he knew it. All he could do now was wait for things to sort out a little, then he would try to mend the fence.

[Jeff Weston]

His sonic weapon beeped notifying him that the charging was done. Standing up he moved back to the common area where he found the captian and the pilot.

'I should have stayed quiet. My life has always made it hard for all around me. I'll gather my gear and find a room. Call me when your ready to meet the pirates.'

Jeff sighed as he turned to leave.

[Lars Engström]

"Weston, wait." said Lars, the mans words had brought him back to reality. "Trace, finish up your soup quick, and get up to the cockpit. We have a job to do." He turned back to Weston. "I don't know what you are used to doing, but whatever it is, as long as you know what you are doing then I have no problem with it. I am going to the cockpit with Trace, so if you see Dru tell her I'd like her up there too."
He headed off to the cockpit, and hoped that this would not go as badly as the meal.

[Trace Kennet]

Trace head the Captains words and jumped up, he had finished his soup awhile ago, now he had been day dreaming. He left his bowl over on the table and hurried up to the cockpit. sliding into the seat, he was already getting prepped for takeoff when the captain came in. "Sorry, captain hold on just a minute." He needed to find Jordan, not knowing where she was, he got on the intercom and checked the engine room first. "Jordan, You there?"

Hearing Lars, he turned his head and nodded. He then headed to the cargo bay to his gear and get things settled. His last crew may have had problems yet atleast they were able to get together when the time was right.

[Jordan Maxwell]

Jordan hit her intercom switch as she went around the engine room getting ready to start it up. "What's up butter cup? We are ready for start on your mark." She said in a joking voice, Jordan was for the most part, acting normal again.
