Dru watched Lars mull over what she had said, knowing that he wouldn't be on board with her plan first. She knew his mind was set when he had first said he wanted to try and reason with them. You don't reason with men like that. Just like you couldn't reason with Drusilla if she were on a job to come kill you. It was just how the 'verse worked.
"I understand you, I just don't agree with you. Perhaps you don't understand me, but after you get a few incidents under your belt I think it'll be easier to see why I am the way I am." Of course she had grown up into who she was, but events that happened to you always had an impact. Helped you shape and change, even minorly. Like Jordan for example, who now because of Drusilla, had fired a gun and seemingly enjoyed it.
Speaking of Jordan, she spoke a definite concern about the situation, there was only one response to her question though, "Probably." Looking at the mechanic Dru sort of felt bad that this was the first job she was going to be part of. Talk about baptizing by fire.

"Don't you fret about the other ship Jordan. We'll figure something out." He was tempted to say more to comfort her, but he held his tongue. "Do you have any thoughts on how we might go about avoiding them Dru? Our best shot is to keep out of sight while we can, and take them by surprise when we have to. I don't want them knowing where we are before they absolutely have to. Maybe Trace and Jordan can work out a way to bounce our signal off a couple com satellites, so as to keep 'em busy as long as possible." He went quiet as he thought, trying to find ways to avoid the pirates detection. "By the way Jordan, I think the coffee is done."
