Thomas listened to the jest and a nother shot. The count was about right for Ma's gang. She always traveled with 15 hired guns and/or her boys. So with the four dead she had 11 left to go. They had to reduce the numbers fast to get Ma to rethink her day's plan. As Angel finished the shot she asked how many he had. He tried to take a quick count but they kept running back and forth in front of the tunnel.
Can't tell they won't hold still long enough to count.
Just then Ma hallered for Bubba. Garret knew on of the three Bubba's on her crew but that one like explosives more than his left hand which was missing two fingers from a predetonation. That one stood up near the back of the group. He had a back pack strapped on and came running forward slowly. Ma hollered again for him to get it up there just as he to aim two others rose in the same line of sight.
Yes Ma! What U'ins' wants?
The sound of Garret's gun boomed from the tunnel and the three men jurked backward as if they had strings. Ma started cussing again about how stupid they were. Garret remembered one of the two new faces as Bubba Jay, one of the mixers and cookers fro their home made chems. The other must have been the third Bubba.
Three Bubba's with one shot.
We have eight left. Watch yourself they'll try some thing stupid now.
Garret could always count on the Collins doing some thing even more stupid when they were loosing numbers.

"More stupid than attacking a...." she bit her question off as she heard a slight commotion near the downed vehicle. She smiled as she noticed a couple of men trying to fix the vehicle, more likely though, trying to get that gun operational again. She took three shots, all three aimed at the gas tank, where she had blown off the cap earlier. All three shots rang true and the vehicle exploded in flames, burning the two men alive. She took two shots to drop them, so they wouldn't try running towards the ship. The gun was in plain sight on the ground now, and with a smile, hopefully this idea would work, Angel fired off a barrage of bullets at the gun's turn crank. Her hope was that the bullets would get stuck in the crevice and keep the crank from being able to turn. She was luckier than she thought, as the bullet storm knocked the crank totally off the gun. "Big gun won't be a problem now!"" she shouted as she reloaded her weapons again. "How's it going down there," she asked quickly. She was no soldier, but she knew the key to combat in groups was communicating.

Thomas waited and listened as he heard from the bridge quickening shots. The echoing thud of the gun truck going up was music to his ears because it meant their only option now was to rush the only entrance the other was buried under a few feet of dirt and rock. Yet the idea of them digging through made him a bit mad.
He looked hard out the narrow tunnel and counted six other people besides Ma. The boys must still be down and hurtin'. Pulling his long shot up he aimed it for the front crate. It was an old empty wooden crate. A single blast and the gun hand hiding behind it was flipped backwards. Five left and then the clean up will begin, Garret hallered back up to the bridge.....
Another one down Five to go, if you can get a head count then we'll be more on the fair and square.
Thomas didn't like the next stage of the combat and that was getting outside and clearing them off the entrance. Clearing the bridge area was the first step on the plan. The second was gettin' to the top of the ship without being seen which during the day was going to be impossible. Yet thankfully for them dusk was coming and the shadowed areas of the buried ship made for perfect cover.

"I don't see anyone else up front!" she shouted. She rushed down to the tunnel and knelt down behind Thomas. "What next?" she half asked, hoping against all hope that the battle was almost over. She was extremely uncomfortable, this battle was going on longer than any she had ever been in, and again, she didn't like killing people. Still, she knew she had no choice. She waited for Thomas to make the next move, silently praying to a God she wasn't even sure she believed in that they didn't have to go out there.

This was good for Garret that it was clear off the nose of the ship. Pulling a piece of rope that led to the hatch activated a pressure plate at the entrance from the tunnel to the ship. Getting up and as quietly as he could moved to the bridge. The further from the hatch the more noise he could make. NOt making any noise now might get him shot by his friend on the bridge. Knocking on the bridges hatch Garret made his pressance known.
I need you at the tunnel station. It's rigged to take one person while I'm away so don't go near or wait to long. I'm going topside I know it better up there than anyone else. When you hear my first shot start your thinning and pinning. I'll make them jump from cover If I can. .... Oh and if you haven't figured it out yet ..... the reason for my sticking it out here, my job has shifted from a tinman to a bounty hunter. Don't worry I go after those I feel deserve to be hunted. Don't forget.... thin and pin.
Garret pushed a button and a half portion of the ship's view port shielding opened a bit. Sliding through with his guns Garret hugged tight to the shielding.
The sun was setting so with the sun to his back he moved slowly to the crows nest he built out of small boulders and blast plating. The going was slow but worth it to get the optimum kill box. He could see rest of the group licking their wounds so to speak. Getting into the nest he checked again his surroundings. None around so he set to picking out who he was going to mark first.

She moved to the tunnel station quickly and nodded as Thomas finished what he was saying. "So what you're saying is you know what you're doing?" she said with a smirk, but didn't expect any kind of reply from the man. She surprised herself with the remark too. She was trying to keep herself calm, and humor seemed to be the way to go. She checked her ammo again, deciding to make a quick stop in the room Thomas pointed out before to grab more, then quickly got back to her post and waited to hear Thomas take his first shot. Sweat began beading up on her forehead. She was admittedly scared, and ridiculously uncomfortable. His statement of being a bounty hunter didn't help put her at ease. She knew she hadn't done anything wrong, but she still felt a little uneasy.

The more than obvious target was Ma herself, standing away from the mouth with no signs of going near the entrance. Picking her right shoulder he aimed for her. Then there was a bit of movement on the oppeset side of the tunnel mouth. They had brought with them another heavy gun and was getting it set to drop in front of the tunnel to spray down the tunnel. He knew a choice had to be made. Ma was going to be the prime target then the heavy gunners.
Setting a hand full of shells out to breach and load as quickly as possible. The first shot at Ma was a hit. She spun and went down. Next swinging to the heavy gunners, aiming he saw they switched their target to him and his nest. All he had was one shot before they opened up on him. Aiming for the gun's mag box he fired. The bullet hit and made a great deal of damage as it shreaded upon passing through.
That did not stop them from opening up on the nest. Ducking down he waited them out. Finally the gun went silent as they hit the section of the clip line that was damaged. Pulling back up he aimed and fired hitting the one firing upon him. The gun spun with the dead man still clinging too it. The other one was trying to get the clip line realigned but he could not find any portion of it that was still good finally he ran for cover dodging the fire from his own crew heading to the crate cover in front of the tunnel.
He smiled as he hit the crate next to the man making both him and the one hidding behind it jump up. Boid could see some more but they were retreating. As they ran away he lined two up and fired. One was hit in his hip and the other the left leg. With this shot it left them three left still willing to fight. He hoped that Angel was still on her game he set them up for her to knock them down.

Angel winced as she heard the gunfire start rattling off. She waited patiently, until she heard the gunfire stop, and quickly, silently counted three seconds. After three, she rushed out the tunnel, firing shots from her gun, hitting the three remaining thugs, one in the forehead, one in the heart, and the last one in the right knee. She spun quickly as she heard another shot go off. A bullet grazed Angel's right leg as she spun, and she screamed out. She dove to her left and tucked into a roll. Coming up to her feet she ran around the big gun and slid downwards and around the back of Ma. The older woman tried to turn on Angel, but Angel was just a bit too quick. She smacked the gun from Ma's hand and pointed the barrel of her left hand gun to Ma's forehead. "Kinda doubt you're fast enough," she smirked. Ma gave her a dirty, evil look. Keeping her gun trained right at Ma's head, Angel looked up and around, searching for Thomas. "Thomas!" Angel shouted. "Got her! Your call what to do!"

Watch Angel go to work at the remaining ones was nice to see. Well nice in the sense to see how others did their job.....(blush). Just as he rose a shot rang out and then he saw Ma trying to roll away with a gun in her left hand. Jumpining over the debrie that was his cover he slid down the mound. No more than he hit the ground than Angel wazs on her and had her subduded.
Hang on to her I'll get the tin here to haul them to the pokey and our money to the bank.
Garret turned down the tunnel stopping short to the tunnel's end and undid the trap from his end. Getting to the gun room he grabbed a com and called to the locals. The first thing was a howl of the sherif cursing him out for all the noise, then after a few more curses he agreed to make his way down to the ship.
Garret turn out of the room and down the tunnel. Walking back up to Angel he lowered his gun to point at Ma and said,.....
The law is comin' they'll be here in a few. You'll want to get that looked at. Don't worry me and Ma gots some talkin' befores they gits here.
Looking down at Ma Garret smiled not one of a happy man or with an evil intent but one so cold that ice shivered.

"Yep. I'll have to see to it," Angel said, looking down at her wound. So this was the infamous Ma Collins. Angel was relieved that her and Thomas had made it out alive, and even more so when he said that the law was on the way. "I'm not worried about the money here, Thomas. I just wanna be clear of this." She went back inside the ship, before he had a the chance to say anything, looking for a cloth or something to wrap around the wound.

(OCC-Thinking 'final postings?' not sure though.)
Garret looked up as the noise of a couple of wagons came 'round the street corner. In the lead was the Aliance officer looking as bad and dragged out as the rest of the inhabitants of Whitefall.
Garret.... you made a mess of my town again. But ... , thankfully you took down the Collins gang with this noise. Once we count and get face matches then you'll get your pay.
The officer and his men dragged up the dead and the local doctor looked in on those wounded Ma included.
Charles Teegs, the Aliance officer, handed over a bag to Garret. Nodded and went back to his horse and followed after his men and the corpus wagons. Turning Thomas walked back down the tunnel in to the ship where he found Angel in the rundown med suite.
Here let me give ya a hand doing the bandaging yourself is more comber some than it truly is.
Garret tried not to think about himself touching another woman's leg. He simply focused on the blood and getting the gauze straight. Once finished he stood and coughed and turned going over to the medicine cabinet and removed a bottle from it. Tilting it back he took a few swallows of his own shine he had made just weeks ago. Handing the bottle over the vapors from the shine wafted in the air and could curl your eye lashes.

(OOC- yeah, probably so. it's been a fun one. I'll look forward to rping with you again soon)
Angel saw that she was making more of a mess than was necessary, so when Thomas came in and offered his help, she didn't resist. She noticed his slight reluctance to touch her leg, but kept it to herself. She held up her hand as he offered her the bottle. "No thanks. But I appreciate it." she politely said. The smell of that stuff alone curdled her stomach. "So the law came and took them all off?" she asked quickly, changing the subject, all the while looking down at the cut in her jeans and the blood that had soaked them from her leg wound. Her face scrunched up, this was her favorite pair of jeans. She guessed it was better than having the wound worsened somehow. "So where do we go from here? Friends?" she said as she extended her hand to shake his, wondering if this time he would react differently.
