[ooc] I don't know where the Trinity is currently, but I see that it landed on Persephone. I'm going to make this board on the ship just in case, but I think it'd be best if Dani met James on Persephone. It's sort of a crossroads for travelers, so it would make the most sense. BTW, James is who runs into her. =] If that's cool. Makes for an entrance, ha.
It had been a few weeks since Dani had left Ariel for the first time in her life. Finding transport on Ariel was easy, but finding a job as a pilot was not. The planet was too organized, too structured for a ragtag ship searching for crew to land on. She had heard Persephone would be a good place to find jobs, so she decided to head there.
Saying good-bye to her sister had been hard. Becks had cried. Dani had not. Dani never cried, but she certainly had felt a sense of loss as she got on the ship that would take her away from the only home she'd ever known and the only person she'd ever cared about. Her parents were not even in the back of her mind; she didn't care to see them or say good-bye. They'd never approve of where she was going or what she planned to do, anyway.
Taking off and leaving atmo for the first time while she was in training had been the most exciting thing Dani had ever experienced, and the adrenaline that pumped through her veins had made her feel the happiest she'd ever been. It confirmed that she was made for this life.
She shamelessly begged the pilot of the transport ship to let her drive, and he relented. He let her slip in some hours flying in the black whenever the captain wasn't around, and let her be his co-pilot when he was. It helped pass the time on the trip to Persephone.
Persephone. The docks were unlike anything she'd ever seen. It was chaotic and crowded, people of all backgrounds and cultures teeming around her. Someone jostled her accidentally and her bag fell off her shoulder. She paused to pick it up and the man who'd run into her stopped as well. "Sorry," she said, even though it was simply the bustle of the crowd that had caused the two to run into each other.
