[After Dinner - The Infirmary]
Sid had asked to see her after dinner, in the infirmary of all places. It was odd, and Tari was feeling a little nervous. She was sitting on the medical bed letting her feet swing around in circles. The light from the gemmed heels gleamed and shined. Tari let out an exasperated breath, she wished Sidney would hurry this along.
After a few more moments with no Sid showing up the thief hopped down from the table and began to pace. Her inability to sit still for long showing through. She couldn't even begin to guess what he could want, she hadn't stolen anything from the ship or it's crew. Maybe he was going to say something about her spending time around Art? Tari rolled her eyes, what could that matter really?
A thought struck her and her pacing stopped suddenly. What if that old man from Osiris had gotten a warrant out on her and Sid came across it on the Cortex? How could he have gotten her picture though? No that couldn't be it..could it?

Sidney hadn't take long to get down to the infirmary. Going in on the other hand was a different story. Tari didn't know what he had called her down there for so he figured it best to let her sweat a bit. It would soften her up a bit. After she paced for a while he decided it was time to go have a little chat.
Sidney walked in to the infirmary stopping in he middle of the doorway for a minute. He face screamed of displeasure, then he walked in the rest of the way and shut the door behind him. He really didn't have an issue with her but he wanted to make sure she would be willing to work with him here. "Ms. Gasha, I've got a few questions for you. I'll be straight forward with it. You weren't on Osiris to visit your grandfather were you?" He inquired as he took a few steps closer.
He patted his hand on the examination table for her to take a seat then paused again. "You aren't exactly what you make yourself out to be." His look got more stern. "Regardless of what you may have done back there on Osiris we could use your skills here in the future. We have a job coming that your skill set could be very useful. If your interested feel free to stay if not I am sure the Feds on Bellerophon wouldn't mind having a chat with you."
he himself took a seat on the doctors stool next to the bed and awaited her responce. He hadn't left her with much choice infact the next place they would be stopping there would be no way for her to run.

Sid came in, finally. He didn't look happy, he looked very unhappy in fact. She wouldn't let the worry show on her face though. Tari watched him closely as he spoke and moved closer to her. When he patted his hand on the table she raised a brow, he stance changed. Her weight shifted to one side and she crossed her arms on her chest. She would stay standing thank you very much.
Tari took in his words and considered carefully how to proceed, this was delicate. Should she just come out with it all? Nah. Her look changed, she smiled softly, "You got me. The old man wasn't my grandfather Sidney. Good eye." She dropped her arms and leaned against the cabinet counter. "I'm not too sure what you mean by 'skills' though Sid, afraid you might be barking up the wrong tree there."
Her gaze went to the floor before going back up to look the man in the eyes, "I'm sure they wouldn't mind in the least, pretty girl like me. That'd be the end of it, despite what you seem to be thinking there aren't any warrants or anything on me."
Curiosity got the best of her as usual, "What is this job you're talking about though? You've peaked my interest"

She had proven herself one more then willing to fight him on it but that wasn't going to be enough to stop him. He had her stuck in a position where she would be forced to work with him. And if he couldn't convince her the Duke would be able to make it happen no problem. He had plenty of feds under his control. Not to mention there was the slew of stolen goods in her room.
Lucky for him she seemed a bit more willing to work with him so it would be easy to change directions and see what she would be willing to do. "There is no need for the stories but lets just pretend for a moment you weren't lieing to me on my ship." He told her with an unhappy look on his face. She was lieing to him and that wasn't something he cared for but he had no room to attack someone to much over lies as he carries his far share as well.
"We have a job coming up here soon one that needs a delicate touch when it come to removing property with out permission." He avoided using the word stealing as he figured that might be a word she prefers not to use. "I belive you may have a bit of expertise in this feild and I am sure the contents of your quarters would be more then enough for any fed to agree with me. Me on the other hand I wouldn't think of intruding on your quarters or business." A small smirk came across his face as the interesting wording he had used. It wasn't to bad if he say so himself. The talking thing might just be something he could handle after all.

Tari sighed and rolled her eyes, he was obviously not going to fall for her game. Sometimes the player just had a bad night, this seemed to be hers. She continued to lean against the counter, unsure of how things would end up for her this time. Perhaps she'll regret not getting off at Newhall. The thief ignored his comments about lieing to him on his ship, well not that it was his ship really. It was James'.
She stayed quiet and simply listened to Sidney talk, explaining a little bit about the upcoming job. A grin crossed her lips once he finished, her look mischievous. Yep time to put the cards on the table, better that than possible jail time. "Well, this job sounds..interesting Sidney and I do have quite a delicate touch." Tari assumed she didn't need to come out and say what he already knew about her.
The woman hopped on top of the counter-top now, getting a bit comfortable. "So Sidney, now that my secret is obviously out in the open. What will you do with it?" She didn't really want the entire crew to know what she was, they wouldn't put any trust in her then. Despite the fact that she'd never steal from them, it wouldn't matter. She was a thief, a con-artist, that was all folks cared about; not who she was as a person. "I'm rather surprised actually that this particular topic hadn't come up before now, but I assure you that I don't steal from people I fly with..if my word means anything to you."

Sidney was glad that she finally gave it. It didn't matter that she didn't out right say it he didn't need an outright victory over her here in the proverbial tug of war they were having. No all that mattered is that she realized when push came to shove on the ship that she feel in line behind his command until Jame returned. "I'm glad your willing to work with me here Tari. You don't have to worry about the rest of the crew none of them seem to know anything and I don't intend to be how they find out."
He stood up and walked over near her taking a seat on the counter next to her. This was one of those few moments that Sidney shows in his wierd way that he is human too. not making eye contact he began to talk again. "Look Tari we all have skeletons in our closet that we want to keep to our selves. I have spend a life time putting skeletons in the closet, including well... a few time putting non-metaphorical skeletons." Sidney was rubbing his hands as he talked as if he was wiping them off. it was almost as if he could see blood on them.
They had spent many night covered in blood in his past. he wasn't the same man back then he had no remorse then. Now though he wanted to belive he was a good man. "The war was hard and the years to follow were even worse. We all made choices we don't want others to know..... Your secret is safe. When we get to Bellerophon I will let you know exactly what you can do for the crew on this job. Sound fair?"

Tari watched Sid with a mix of worry and impatience as she waited to see what he would say. Would he out her to the crew? Thankfully he said he wouldn't, she was relieved and the worry left her face. It was replaced with her eyes widening just a bit as he got up and came towards her. The thief relaxed when he sat himself on the counter next to her.
"My extracurricular activities aren't skeletons Sid, I rather enjoy the thrill of it all. Not to mention the rewards when things pan out." How to word what else was on her mind..she wasn't used to talking to anyone very openly, but she felt as though she could with Sidney. Her voice hesitated a little, "I..I just feel like I'm starting to get along here you know? I've never stuck with a ship or other folks for that matter for very long. I don't want everyone to treat me differently because of things I do when I'm not on the ship.."
Tari let out a sigh, she'd never been one to let herself get too fond of people. When she joined the Trinity though she found herself swaying from her usual way of doing things. 'Damn you Art.' Yeah she'd like to blame him, but really it was her. She'd just changed how she lives her life, and this ship just happened to be the key to making that happen. "Thank you Sid." Her gratitude was genuine and with the end of his words she grinned, that mischievous look on her again. "I look forward to it."
