Juliet accepted the purse and waited for the captain to look up at her. Victoria would probably be coming with her, and if she wasn't, Juliet would insist on giving back the money. She wasn't one to accept charity.
The captain looked up and turned to Victoria. "How can I help you two ladies?" he asked.
Before Victoria could respond, Juliet said, "I understand you're going to Haven. I'd like to buy passage for the both of us." She showed him the money. "We're perfectly able to pay, so don't worry about that."
"All right," the captain said slowly, looking between the two women. "There's a double berth open if you'd like. I'm Captain Thompson, and I'll collect my payment when we arrive."

"When do we leave?" she asked, keeping her tone calm and even so as not to seem over eager. Not only did she want to help Juliet, but in truth, she really wanted to get off this planet. It was her home, and she loved it, but enough was enough. She wanted to see the 'verse. This would be her first opportunity to see another rock other than her home. She tried not to show too much excitement, but it was pretty well written all over her face.

"We ship out this afternoon," the captain said. "We should arrive at Haven in a few days. If there's anything you need to do around here, I'd suggest you finish it up pretty quick. I can save your berth for you, if you'd like."
"Thank you," Juliet said. She wanted to run back to her room and pick up her belongings before leaving. Traveling on a ship with only one pair of clothes didn't sound at all like a pleasant trip. Turning to Victoria, she said, "I'm going to run back to the inn. I'll meet you back here, all right?"

"Sounds good to me. I got to grab some stuff myself. I'll see you soon." Angel headed off in the same direction, but broke off a bit and split from Juliet entirely to go and grab all her clothes and gear. It took her all of about twenty minutes to gather her stuff and purchase a bit of extra ammunition, then she was headed back to the ship. She would wait patiently when she got there for Juliet to arrive. She was really excited, she was about to get off this rock.

It took longer than Juliet would have hoped to finish her business at the inn. Everything she had fit into two bags, so it didn't take long to gather up what little she had unpacked. Leaving the inn was the difficult part, as the woman in charge was less than willing to let her leave early. In the end, though, she managed to get out and head back to the Sally Ride.
She was one step closer to finding Preston.

She waited patiently for Juliet to get back to the ship. It had not taken Angel long to get all her stuff, and she sat on the ramp with her pack. She had done some real good today, and was proud of herself for it. She was helping someone out again, and this time, it didn't lead to a big shootout. She wondered, drifting off to daydream a bit, a far off look on her face, about traveling in space. It wouldn't be a dream here soon. It was about to happen, but what she really wanted was to find a permanent spot on someone's ship. She doubted this would be it. She was content to help Juliet first.
