Wearing her protective goggle's and hearing protection securely fastened, Jules pulled out her sidearm. It was standard officer's issue for the Alliance Military, the best gun available in Jules' opinion it was light and it had never failed her in the few gunfights she had been in. Loading her pistol up she hit the button at the side of her booth "Let's rock and roll" she said to herself smiling. Jules had always felt at home at the shooting range, she just felt calm and relaxed. Once the target was far enough back she hit the button again and took aim before firing.

Kylie laid down on the long range, sharpening some of her sniper skills. She was in the Academy's shooting team, and she was offered to go to sniper school in her early Alliance days, but thanked for the honor. She was only after getting through her service time back then, and wouldn't even dream about being a black-ops operative.
But of course, fate had something else in mind, so now she found herself behind an M24 sniper rifle, wearing goggles and earmuffs.
She concentrated on the target, and aimed her rifle a bit above the bullseye. She took a few controlled breaths before gently squeezing the trigger.
A muzzleflash came from the barrel of the rifle, and Kylie was hit by a gentle recoil. The bullet went straight through the bullseye.
She repeated this a couple of times, with one bullet after the next going through the bullseye, until the rifle was out of ammo. After that she came out from behind the scope of the rifle and looked at the target in the distance. She stood up and went to the control panel to get the target closer.
Once it was the target was there, she looked at it, somewhat with pride.
"Gosh." Kylie said to herself. "Guess I still got it..."

Her shooting came to a conclusion so she grabbed another magazine from the pouch hanging around her waist. She ejected the empty mag letting it hit the ground. With a little force she popped the new mag in the rear of the gun, using the heel of her palm, while depressing the side release. With her gun reloaded, she felt on fire ready to go at it again. It was a process she had done so many times before and she continued to freshen up on due to the reaver attacks. Jules pressed the control panel and hit a button to bring the panel closer. Every single shot was a head shot, hooking her earmuffs around her neck and resting her goggle's on her head. Jules walked out of the booth and sparked up a cigar. She saw Kylie's target and wasn't at all surprised you only survived against reaver's if you can shoot or down to damn good luck and Kylie had both. "Good shooting, girl" Jules said before taking a pull "Want one?" Jules ofered holding the box out.

As Kylie admired her own shooting, she was approached by Major Hale, who complimented her on her shooting.
When she offered her a cigar, Kylie made a refusing gesture. She didn't smoke, although drinking was another pair of sleeves.
"No thank you." Kylie refused politely. "Those things'll kill you. Don't you watch the Cortex?"
Taking off her earmuffs and goggles, she put the safety on the empty M24, just in case. She decided to take a break from shooting as her hands were still tingling from all the practice she did.
"Can't believe you've been on the crew all this time." Kylie said. "I'm surprised I never ran into you before."

Simply shrugging her shoulders at the comment about the cortex as if to say, who watch's it anymore. Most of what the cortex fed the 'Verse was pure and utter bull. Jules hadn't taken notice of it in a long, long time. Slipping the box of cigars back into her pocket the Major, took one long drag before taking down the smoke. This was not advised but it was better than unleashing it into the Lieutenant's face. "Tell me about it, LT" Jules responded with a smile "Juliet Hale, my friends call me Jules" Julet introduced herself formally, emphasizing the 'my friends call me Jules'. The young LT had more right than anyone to be considered Juliet's friend, she had saved the lives of the entire crew. Pike had promised her a promotion that was yet to come, hopefully Borden would give her the recognition she deserved.
