With the new set-up of the forums, we've divided up all of the categories, this opens up the freedom to add new planets to the various systems. Alot of the planets on our map may or may not have a pre-defined description, so the staff would like to take this opportunity and give some creation fun to our members! Here's the details! - The planet names are already set so they are not to be changed
- Post a reply here and claim a maximum of 3 planets that you'd like to work on (We may raise this later depending on the amount of response we get)
- When putting together your planets keep our 'verse in mind, don't make them unbelievable please, we may ask that something be changed if we feel it's needed
- There is a creation guide in one of the RPG books; "Big Damn Heroes Handbook" approximately page 137 - You should be able to see a copy of the pdf online; www.scribd.com/doc/79036119/Serenity-Big-Damn-Heroes-Handbook
- Be creative! Feel free to mention specific cities or popular establishments, any underground dealings that the world may be known for...ect (Basically things we could turn into a sub-forum for the planet or points of interest that would prompt people to post)
- Once you feel that your planet is complete post it in this topic, make sure you put the planet's name above your description
Here's the list of worlds we're looking to add: Blue Sun:Highgate [Claimed by Roark]Fury [Claimed by Jove]Meridian Muir Deadwood [Claimed by Roark]New Cannan [Claimed by Sid & Completed]Red Sun:Moab Aesir [Claimed by Roark]Harvest [Claimed by Sid]Triumph [Claimed by Mikiel]Lazarus [Claimed by Lars Engström]Georgia:Aphrodite [Claimed by Kyla]Elphame Ithaca [Claimed by Jove]Meadow Boros [Claimed by Jove]Prophet Three Hills Kalisasa:Delphi [Claimed by Kyla]Aberdeen Zephyr Zeus [Claimed by Mikiel]Constance Glacier Vishnu White Sun:Gonghe Liann Jiun Valentine Pelorum [Claimed by Kyla]Rubicon

New Canaan Known as a "sleeper" in terraforming circles, New Canaan has been in Stage 7 of the Dokia Planetary Engineering Scale for decades longer then projected. Despite early success in compression and sea level stabilization, there remains a remarkable amount of geological change and atmospheric upheaval. As a result, New Canaan remains decades away from supporting full colonization. A large equatorial basin is successfully terraformed, although it is still subject to massive and violent acid-rain storms. This area houses the only active settlements on New Canaan. The Capital, Baal, contains most of the of the planets population. The Alliance has appointed a regional governor and no longer maintains a regular presence. The Planetary monitoring station is now fully automated, transmitting updates to the Planetary Engineering Burreau. The planet's moons were terraformed successfully and on schedule. Today they serve as the mining colonies, providing raw materials for the assembly of additional terraforming infrastructure for new Canaan. New Cannan after the signal fell even further out of the hands of the Alliance and more and more in tot eh hands of former brown coats and smugglers. Planet specs System; Blue Sun Terraforming: Ongoing Mass: 3.71 x 10^21 tonnes Mean Diameter: 10,171 km Atmosphere: N2/O2/CO2/H2O/NH3 population: 298,000 Restrictions: Although techniclly restricted, New Canaan Lacks full Alliance enforcement support. Proper clearances are still advised. Moons Ugarit Mass: 4.69 x 10^18 tonnes population: 46,000 Restrictions: Open Ugarit was new Canaan's first terraforming success. in addition to housing several small ore and gemstone mines, the moon is also used as the retreat by new Canaan's governor. Lilac Mass: 85.08 x 10^19 tonnes population: 2,750 restrictions: Open Lilac's single mining town provides basic raw material for new Canaan's terraforming. After the signal it became the place that housed the little bit of Alliance government in New Cannan's planetary system. Additional information There are 3 cities that fall in the terraformed region: Baal - the capital and larges city on the planet making up most of the population Ransom - the northern most city and the one that sits closest to the edge of the terraformed area Nineveh - the southern most city that cits along the edge of the ocean in addition to the 3 cities in the terraformed region there is also one dock: Bishop Docks - sits along the souther coast of the terraformed area directly between Nineveh and Baal it can be assumed that Baal also has it's own docks in the city but not to the scale of Bishop docks. The rest of the planet looks black on covered with volcanic activity outside of the terraformed area there is little to be seen then different volcano's and other hazardous ways to meet your demise. The terraformed area is only about 1/20 of the planets surface with about half of the planet being covered in ocean suggesting temperatures are not to high due to the volcanic activity. Though the planet is on the rim it is always best to let the people there know that you are coming as there is an abundance of Independence there and there is a stock pile of Antiaircraft cannons left over from the war. The port authority master's office for the planet and moons is located on Lilac. Trade information on the planet is as follows: It is a good place to sell the following: Blue sun cargo 9average price) food and grain General stock heavy machinery (average price) medical supplies (good price) weapons specialized electronics (good price) terraforming equipment (good price) it is a good place to buy: Raw materials - general (average price) reaw materials - medical (good price) Places of Interest: The Maiden's MercyThe Maiden's Mercy is an El Dorado-Class ship that can be found either in Orbit or flying in the atmosphere of New Cannan. It acts as a high class auction house on the rim. It auctions everything from earth-that-was artifacts to human slaves. When it is selling illegal goods it is usually found in the skys of the planet above the wastes instead of in orbit. It is hard to secure permission to come aboard the ship and it has a good sized security detail that makes it hard for unwelcome guest to board the ship. Smugglers AllySmuggling is considered illegal on the planet as far as the locals will tell you and by what the alliance belives. In actually smuggling is a main trade of the planet. Though not to much needs to be smuggled in to the planet many smugglers use the planet as a storage area and a place to lay low here. Due to the small area of the planet being terraformed it has proven to be a great place to touch down in the wastes to avoid notice. Though not officially name Smugglers Ally it has become know to insiders as this and is one of the best places to find contraband goods and contacts for smuggling.

LAZARUS LAZARUS:Size: Ice Giant Biome: Taiga/ Frozen Tundra Use: Mining/ Prison work camp Moons: 3 After terraforming had ceased, settlers began to arrive, including a young Geologist by the name of Skiff Rogers. Lazarus fascinated Rogers from the moment he set foot on Bella Dona. He saw the Ice planet as a treasure trove of exploration and geological discovery. He immediately began attempting to secure equipment and transportation so he could pursue his desire to embark on a geological expedition of Lazarus. When Lazarus had been listed as barren and uninhabitable, the Alliance had declared it, “Off limits to all persons.” Rogers wouldn’t allow the edicts to faze him. His father had been a wealthy rancher on White Fall, but he died shortly after Skiff left home, leaving the young Rogers a small fortune. Using this money, and his knack for persuading others, Skiff began to plan. He purchased an old transport, and began fitting it out as an exploratory vehicle. It didn’t take him too long, as he had a decent understanding of what he wanted and how to do it. When all his preparations were complete, he set off to Lazarus, and that was that. Although he was not a pilot, he was lucky, and his trip proved uneventful. When he arrived on Lazarus, what he saw amazed him All around were frozen pillars, great cathedrals made from frozen gasses, he was speechless. Further exploration revealed that not only did this planet poses natural beauty, it also was full to the brim with resources. Gasses, elements, minerals, it was all here, and Skiff had found it. He headed back, giddy with his success, and found the Alliance waiting for him. One of his friends had sold him out, and he was taken into custody. As soon as the alliance found out what this planet really was, they were quick to act. Almost immediately they established a base on Bella Dona, and they began building a massive mining facility on Lazarus. They had no issue finding workers to man their facilities. Prisoners were transferred from prisons all throughout the ‘Verse, and put into the service of the mining operation, as an alternative to sitting in a cell. MOONS LAZARUS II: Size: Large Moon Biome: Aquatic/ Mountain Type: Mining/ Semi agricultural Lazarus II was a rock, and although it had plentiful supplies of water, due to its many oceans, massive mountains and rocky planes dominated all the hard land. Overall about 5% of the planet was suitable for farming. This already meager amount of farmable land was used to provide as much agricultural output as was possible. This lack of land meant that traditional cities were out of the question. As a result, Lazarus II is dotted by many small communes that hug the slopes of its mountain ranges. Using stories of cities from Earth-That-Was, the population of Lazarus II was able to build cities that extended out into the oceans and lakes. Many forms of exotic alpine and marine life also exist on Lazarus II, providing a source of both food and income for those who live there. Mining is fairly common throughout the mountain ranges, although it is not associated with any establishment. The many caves and tunnel systems provide a perfect hideaway for those who would seek to avoid trouble with the law. There are many opportunities to be had as far as work is concerned, if you know where to go, and who to talk to. BELLA DONA:Size: Large Moon Biome: Grassland/ Forest Type: Military/ Refueling* Bella Dona seemed to be the perfect terraforming success story when it was created. All initial results showed no issues with atmo composition, temperature or any other problems, but that changed in the blink of an eye. Almost as soon as settlers began arriving, they noticed some interesting phenomenon. All around on the moon, there was a humming, no one knows what causes it, but the planet has a natural harmonic. It is an attractive feature for many scientists. Also, and much to the alarm of the settlers, rain on the planet proved to be extremely hot. The grasslands are not effected by this, but crops that are planted artificially are no match for the interesting weather. There is a large Alliance military complex on this moon, which supplies any support needed for the mining complex on Lazarus proper. Although this is a seemingly massive alliance stronghold, the personnel stationed here seem to find few reasons to pay any attention to the other planets in the system. For whatever reason, the alliance is only interested in Bella Dona. *Refueling limited to Alliance Vessels, without special permission. NEW PARIS:Size: Large Moon Biome: Jungle/ Volcanic Type: Estate/ Research New Paris truly was the perfect success story for terraformers. It was a plain, unremarkable volcanic planet, but when it was terraformed, it almost transformed into utopia. Jungles sprang up, and rain forests began to grow around the volcanoes. This beauty was not lost on the rich citizens of the alliance. They sprang at the planet, and began building expansive tropical estates. The high class atmosphere of New Paris is often a turnoff to those looking for work. It is similar to Bellerophon, in that the estates that dot it’s surface are totally independent of one another. Those who live there have either the money to provide everything they need, or they work for someone else who does. New Paris has always been almost too perfect. The colors are unnaturally bright, and everything looks almost too good. Estates are self sufficient, and well guarded, similar to other such establishments. Volcanic activity is rare, but can be interesting. Estates on the planet are all located at a safe distance from a volcano. The interesting color, and unnatural vibrance of the moon, coupled with the volcanoes, has brought a small research company to New Paris. The New Paris Research Cooperative, (NPRC) has it’s home on the moon, where it conducts studies of many of the natural wonders that this moon possesses. If New Paris has any flaws, it is that the people who live there care little or nothing about the outside, they are content with New Paris.

Harvest System:Red Sun Terraforming Ended: 2251 (99.6% successful) Mass: 12.20x10^21 tonnes Mean Diameter:17,984km Atmosphere: N2/O2/CO2/H2O Population: 8.4 million Status: Unrestricted // Harvest offers unrestricted and largely unlogged travel to and from all major settlements. As the name suggest, Harvest's major industry is the production of grains and other agricultural products. The demand for Harvest's exports rose sharply after 2480's multi-world blight. The planet became an even more important supplier after Hera's food output was severely curtailed during the War of Unification. An experimental terraforming technique was partially responsible for Harvest's remarkable fertility. A side effect of the method was an unstable sterile rift along Harvest equator known today as "Demon's Cradle." The area is still under intense scientific study in hopes of replicating the technique elsewhere without the geological upheaval. Harvest enjoys a second lucrative export in the form of exotic gases extracted from the planets polar ice. Increased trade sparked the search for other marketable resources, and in 2490 the components of an exceptionally strong industrial ceramic were found on Harvest primary moon, Higgin's moon. After the signal was sent out and the Alliance started to fracture, many disillusioned citizens of the alliance moved out from the core to Harvest to resettle. It become one of the most popular places due to the face that one could be self sustaning on the planet, be outside of total Alliance control, yet still have close proximity to the Core over all. This massive population boom over the last several years has come with growing pains for the people of the planet. Befor unification Harvest was an Independent planet but managed to intagrate in to the Alliance fairly well as it was good for business and didn't have to deal with tipical Alliance citizens to much. Now though there are many more people who look to get their cut of the profits from the planets farms and the fight over culteral norms. The population has spike to over four times what it was before the signal. The moons of Harvest Farraday Mass: 1.65X10^20 tonnes Population:550,000 Status: Restricted // Access to Farraday is mostly restricted though requests can be made to gain access.[/center] A standard unterraformed moon, Farraday is home to several small mining outposts and a mid-sized observatory. Weapons manufacturer Vanhaus, Inc, Red sun Corp. and Rider Manufacturing all rent portions of the moon and limit access to these areas. For those seeking access to the moon the mining outpost or observitory is the best option for gaining access. Higgins' Moon Mass: 4.65X10^20 Population:840,000 Status:Unrestricted // Access to Higgins' Moon is easy to gain and for the most part not strickly track though Odell Higgins' workforce usually reports ships that have landed on the moon. Magistrate Odell Higgins exercises almost total control over this eponymous moon. The sole export is cultivated industrial ceramic. Additional information The planet is covered in famrs on nearly every island and contanent making it the 'Bread Basket of the Verse' It has many citys through out it with the capital being Ostermann. Its southern contanant being covered in ice that provides the place with its major gas exports. In recent years it has seen a high level of alliance traffic from Bernadette in an effort to settle the planet. The centeral government has begun to take a higher interes in the planet due to its fast rate of growth even though it is still limited on total population. There are rumors on the planet from its long time independent residence that it is an effort to take it as a center for Alliance control for future reexpansion of the alliance. This has lead to alot of tension between the two factions on the planet. Trade information on the planet is as follows: It is a good place to sell the following: Blue Sun Cargo (average price) Genral Stock (Good Price) Heavy Machinery (Average price) Medical Supplies (Exceptional Price) Textiles (Average Price) Weapons (Exceptional Price) it is a good place to buy: Alliance Cargo (Good Price) Food and Grain (Exceptional Price) Raw Materials - General (Good Price) Raw Materials - Medical (Exceptional Price) Points of Interest Ostermann is the Capital of the planet, though the planet is considered by the alliance to still be a part of its tarratory it has lost a great deal of control here and as such a planetary government has formed that is not attached to the Aliiance. Though with the major influx of alliance settlers looking to leave the core it has given rise to a government for the Alliance again as well. Many of the settlers look to be out of complete alliance control they still consider themselfs to be part of it. Ostermann used to be a city of only about 500,000 before the uprising it has grown to almost 2 million with all the settlers. This has caused to to have a great deal of tention here. Deomon's Cradle Is a wide and deep canyon that runs nearly the full length of the largest contanant of the planet. It would be comparable in length to that of the enterty of Europe on Earth-That-Was. It is a restricted area but not enforced by any party. along it's norther side near the east end of the canyon is an out cropping that holds the a single tree out in the middle of the canyon. The tree is known as 'The Blessing Tree' It has become a faored tourist destination and frequented by the buddist population of the Verse though the significants to them is nor really know.
