So I'm thinking of making a new character whose sole purpose in existing is to be comedic relief for stuff. He'd always be making jokes and generally being a nice person (though not like Jude, who is sweet all the time). I'm not sure what he'll do or if he'll even be involved with a ship. Maybe he's a Companion. That might be neat.
Russell Brand will be the PB. Russell Brand is pretty enough to be a Companion, right?
Anyway, I'd appreciate some help getting my thoughts together about him. Any ideas?

I don't think a Companion would be good for comic relief. They take things too seriously. All those rituals and stuff... How about a wannabe crime boss who has big dreams but can't get his act together on the count of him being a coward himself? I really don't know. I think the best one for comic relief atm is Jops' character Trevor Xu Rienh. He just wants peace but can't find it because everyone he meets are crooks and magnets for trouble

Lyn...I love Russell Brand. You rock. lol. I like the idea of a companion or what Rade suggested. I could totally see Brand being a wuss who wants to be a tough guy. or...He could be a companion on the Atlas if Ursula leaves for the esteem.

No, Chris, YOU rock.
Anyway, I don't know if EVERY Companion has to be all serious and never have fun. Maybe he (name undecided as well) is sort of like, the Companion form of a black sheep, or he caters to a very exclusive kind of customer that likes the bad boys. Who knows?
Though, it would be interesting to make him like you suggested, Rade. But I think I want to make him braver than he means to be, not vice versa. Like, stupid brave, you know?
Either way, Russell will be retaining his Cockney accent -- I know this is my second (technically third) character with an accent that's not American, but I just couldn't imagine him any other way.
