Sidney seemed a little sad at Lindsi's statement. There was some truth behind it. Ben wasn't likely to stop fighting for anything or anyone, just like him. Sidney and Ben were of the same breed. They were born fighters and they would die fighters. Sidney knew his luck would run out one day and it wouldn't be old age that takes him in to the darkness, but he didn't want Lindsi to think on those lines for either him or Ben.
He gave her another smile. Though not as real as the ones before, he didn't want her to figure out his real thoughts. 'There isn't much that could stop me from fighting that is true. Though I must admit there were a few times you were able to pull my mind off of it for a while.' There was some truth behind his confession. He had spent his life fighting and though he had never thought to stop all together there were times he had forgotten about it when he was distrated with Lindsi.
Ben was rough and tumble but in the right situation and perfect reasons he truly believed Ben would give it up. 'Maybe Ben wouldn't care it there was a puppy on board, we could use a loyal' He paused a second, he had almost signed a loyal companion but figured that wasn't the right word to use right now with the situation at hand and all. 'A loyal dog on board.'
He leaned down toward her and brushed her hair from her forehead and let his fingers run the length of her hair. Then he gave her a kiss on the forehead. She was a very special person and Ben was lucky to have her. Sidney was a little frustrated at the idea that she wouldn't be happy here and that Ben would be causing that. But it wasn't all Ben's fault he had no idea what Lindsi was going through or what she had been through.
