Shuttle Bay, Esteem; Febuary 18th 2523
Patricia slowly entered the cargo bay of the Esteem. She saw this ship as her escape. There was always a reason, a hidden desire for her to stay within the core planets, her review was coming up, additional training might be needed, she needed to save some money to rend a shuttle. There were more, but she couldn’t think of them, and they didn’t matter. Freedom was a meeting away.
She slowly removed her hat as she waited for the captain of this ship. The ship itself seemed impressive, she watched as Alliance officers moved about, doing their jobs, and smiling and nodding at those who looked at her. She suspected that many on this ship were not use to Companions.

Tigh was in his office going over the paperwork for who things were going for the security team down on Persephone. The Esteem had established a stong presence there and their request for a second security detachment to be sent to them had been approved. While there they had also managed to have a companion approved for staying on the ship.
Tigh was a be divided by this development. He didn't have an issue with companions, they were sanctioned by the Alliance after all but the fact that one would be on his ship, a Military ship. WHen he recieved the call that the companion's transport had docked with the ship he set his paperwork down and went to getter the young lady.
It was traditional for the captain of a ship to greet the companions boarding. "Admirla Vangard at your service ma'am. It's a pleasure to met you." He said to her as he would up offing a hand shake to the woman. "Welcome to the Esteem. Could I offer to show you around."

Patricia took his hand softly, and gave him a soothing smile. "Thank you Admiral I would enjoy that greatly. I have heard many great things about this ship, and I am looking forward to my stay here."
Patricia had indeed spent months researching a ship that she would feel safe on. Then there was the matter of convincing the Alliance that she could be useful aboard a military vessel, something that required so much charm she had a hard time remembering how she pulled it off.
"Would you like to join me for tea afterwords Admiral?" She asked as their handshake ended. Her hand returned to her side as she looked up at him.

"I'm glad it was all good things you have heard. We strive to exemplify the values of the Alliance on this ship." He told her as they shook hands. He began to walk along so that he could show her through the ship. They wouldn't be able to see everything as the ship was just to big and would take to much time from his duties, but he could show her the high lights all the things she would need to know on the ship to be able to feel at home.
"It would be a pleasure to join you Ma'am" He was never one to partake in a companions service but he also was a gentleman and wouldn't turn down her offer for tea. "Would you have any preferance on what to see first?" He figured it best to allow her to decide if she cared to.

Patricia smiled as she followed him. "I do not wish to take to much of your time Admiral, so whatever you feel would be necessary." She looked over to him maintaining her smile. She was going to like him, she decided.
All she really wanted was to see the ship through his eyes. She could admire the ship for its beauty or what it meant to her, however, someone like the Admiral would see something different in the ship, a sense of pride for being in command of her. During her years as a practicing companion, it was one of the things she enjoyed.
As it dawned on her, most of her clients she chose to be with were part of the Alliance elite. She enjoyed the war stories, and the pride they had for their service. She suspected he was no different.

"I should be able to spare enough time to make sure you have a proper feel for the place." The statement was only partially true he would make time as he believed it would be inappropriate not to show her around, but he would defiantly be sacrificing a bit of time needed for other things. It would just mean a longer day for him nothing he wasn't used to.
He took her around the place showing off several locations. Of course the bridge was important so she would see where the ship was commanded from. His office as well since she would need to know where to come with any future issues or problems that needed solved. Where to find all the day to day things she would need as well.
Lastly he took her to the Officers Lounge, she of course not an officer but would have full access to the place. FOr the most part her business on the ship would require her to have the ability to go there. The officers lounge was quite the spectacular place. It was a high class place that had large open windows to the outside. The most open place on the ship. The view out the window was looking down on Persephone. "I have arranged for you to have full access to the Officer's Lounge of course." He took a seat by the window inviting her to sit with him for a moment and enjoy the view. "The lounge is a great place to relax and enjoy the view. For now we will be over Persephone for a while as we conduce a mission here for now." Persephone and it's two moons were visable out the window.

Patricia sat down next to him and looked out the window at the planet below. The view was stunning and she could only hope that she would see many more like this one.
Being on the ship for only a short amount of time she already couldn't believe that it had taken her this long to join a ship. "Thank you, Admiral, I greatly appreciate everything you have done." Her eyes moved from the view back to the man before her.
"Do we know what planet we will be near next? Or would you rather discuss the mission at hand?" She raised a bow to him and offed a caring smile. She needed to know their next planet, however, to her, the mission would be far more interesting. Though, if she had to bet, she would be hearing "that's classified" very soon.

Tigh was begining to accept the companion as being a passanger on the ship. Normally he didn't like the idea of passangers on a military ship. For the most part families of crew weren;t onboard the ship. There were a few but they were all approved by high up and not Tigh. He though passangers brought the focus off work and more to a social environment but for some reason the comapnion had managed to pass Tigh strict impressions. Then again she was trained to make sure people thought well of her.
"Well for now we will be a persehone for some time, I would imagine a few months as we are setting the ground work for an Alliance return there." He began to explain. "Once we have completed the objectives to Alliance command standards we are to set out to the Red Sun System. hopefully out there will be acceptable to you." Of course if it wasn't acceptable it wouldn;t chance where they went but some companions prefered to remain in the core.

Patricia smiled and nodded to him. "Sounds lovely Admiral, I have never been, it is sure to be a new experience." There was a sound of wonder and longing in her voice. Sure, there were going to be here for some time, however, the chance to actually adventure outside of this system was a dream of her. And though she tried to hide that, it was showing through in her voice.
Her hand reached out and moved her hair off her shoulders as she looked back out at the planet. "Bringing the light of humanity through the Verse." She said almost in a whisper. She supported unification, she enjoyed the idea of a central government that would keep the lands fair and safe. Some of the border planets seemed to be lawless, allowing slavery and the like. She believed only Alliance had the ability to stop that from happening. "Is there anything I should know about the Red System that might be useful Admiral?"
Most companions didn't travel outside of the core system, her information was spotty, at best.

Tigh took a moment to look out the window with Ms. Redman enjoying the view below. Persephone was quite beautiful from the ship though it lost it's beauty in his opinion when you went down and saw the planet first hand. His thoguhts drifted to his men on the planet. It was like war or anything but there was always danger that came with a job like this.
"Red Sun is definatly different then here in the Core. Paquin is from what I have heard a fun place but filled with it's fair share of con-artists and swindlers. Then you got Greenleaf, a beautiful planet but it has some issues with the cartels, one of the reasons the Esteem is assigned to head there next. There is Also Harevst of course, where we will be spending most of our time out there. It has become a favored location for settlers in recent years and a hot bed for tensions between former browncoats and Alliance citizens." He explained the basics one would need to be concered about in the system.
"For now though like I said we will remain in the relitive safety of Persephone. I have security personel on the ground here and they will be informed of your stay here on the Esteem. While planet side they will be more then capable of assisting you with anything you need." Tigh had already informed Sibil of Ms. Redman's preseance on the ship and that she might be spending some time planetside here and there.
"So what is it that made you decide you wanted to be on an Alliance cruiser?" Though it was common for Alliance crusiers to house a companion or two he had wondered what the draw for them was. Planetside offered plenty of clients as did a cruiser but planetside offered a lest strict environment

"New clients, adventure, that type of thing Admiral. I have always wanted to travel. Outside the normal confines of the guild that is. As far as being here Admiral, I took a great deal of time looking at liners, and other cruisers and I fell in love." She gave him a cunning smile then continued. "I have loved ships long before I went to the guild, and I loved them long after. They all have stories, experiences and often staff that has the same thing. I chose this ship from the others, because of the staff, and your record."
If Patricia was born from other parents, or away from the core planets, she would have join the Alliance Military. She had a love for their guide lines, their structure and a lust for adventure and righting wrongs that would have made her a great fighter. However, those traits within the guild made her stand out from others. It also made it easier to slip onto a ship like this one.

Tigh listened as she gave him her reasons for having picked the Esteem. In his opinion she couldn't have picked a better ship. The Esteem was shaping up to be quite the ship. His crew was falling in to their proper places and he was quickly getting this shake down in order.
If ll went well they wouldn't be here around Persephone for to long. Maybe a few months and then the Alliance would be ready to set up a permanent security presence of several thousand on the planet to maintain some semblance of order. "I am glad you feel the Esteem is a worthy ship for you to function from. You will find it is the best the Alliance has to offer." She had also mentioned his crew in her reasons and him directly. That surprised him a bit. He had made a good career for himself but never thought any of it was outside the normal line of duty. She he was well decorated and had made it to the rank of Admiral but he had still not seen it as anything special. "I do appreciate the time you took to look in to it all, it's very flatering but my record just reflects having done my duty as a citizen of the Alliance." Tigh was very modest about his career, he was thrust in to situations that had afforeded him the opportunity to serve, he never viewed it as him having done anything exceptinal himself, his crew maybe, but him alone.

She smiled at him and reached over and touched his hand softly. "Admiral, you, your crew, you all have done amazing things. I'm not the only one that feels as such." She held her smile and slowly removed her hand from his, not wanting to make him uncomfortable.
"From what I have seen over the years, many Admirals can't even say they did what was right for the Alliance. You are loyal, strong, and you accept nothing less from your men. I do believe you are the acceptation not the rule." She was being honest however, out of the men she had met, he seemed to be the most honorable. Though yes, many Alliance officers were honorable, she didn't seem them striving for the better good the way he seemed to be. Though people have thrown a mask over her eyes before, she was still getting to know him. All she knew of him so far was his career that lived on paper.

Tigh was impressed with her words, she respected him and honored him with her words. "May I call you Patricia?" He questioned before going on. He was always so formal but she wasn't an officer and usually a companion preferred less formalities.
Once she responded he began to speak again. "Thank you Patricia, and please just call me Tigh. You honor me with your kind words and my crew as well." He flagged down one of the wait staff in the lounge, who of course was quick to respond due to who he was. Before the staff could say a word Tigh spoke up. "Could you bring us some tea." With a quick nod the wait staff took off and headed to get the tea.
"I konw you had asked me to tea with you but as I am the host here I believe I should ofer this first time. So Patricia, please tell me a bit about yourself." He was courious as to what had lead her down the path in life she had taken. Tigh believed that everyone had a path in life and that path was formed through the events in their life. That included those who's paths lead them to criminal ways, without them he wouldn't be needed in his path. Everything was a big system that made it all work the way it did. "What lead you to join the companions guild?"
He believed by knowing what made someone go down their path would allow him to know about where their path would take them in the future and what he might expect from them.

"The first child in my family is sent to the Guild to become a Companion. At least on my father's side. His brother is a Companion, and his Aunt. Personally however, I am the second child." Patricia smiled and stopped speaking on the subject when the wait staff brought the tea put and two cups. She quickly took the opportunity to pour the the tea into their cups. "I however am the second child. My father didn't wish to send his son."
She gave Tigh a look about it, she wasn't pleased with that fact, but it was the way it was. "I personally had dreams of becoming an Alliance officer. I had my career all planned out, bought myself a costume and wore it around the house. I hid the costume for three weeks, until one day he caught me playing with my brother. I was sent to the guild a few days later.. I was 7."
She set his tea cup in front of him then took a sip of her own. "I trained in the Guild after that. I picked up sword play rather quickly, and the psychology. However, something was always missing." She smiled at him cunningly then took another sip of her tea.
"After that, I became licensed, started having clients, and waited for the right ship with the right crew to come along." There was more to her story, she just didn't know how to share, it wasn't in her training.
"What about you Admiral.... Tigh? What brought you to be part of the Alliance?"
