Tigh listened intently to her story. It was quiet interesting to think someone would have family lineage in the guild, but then again his story wasn't much different. His father was in the service and for him it was the only path he ever saw for himself.
"Well It was either be a companion or join the Navy." He joked with her. "But seriously I never saw any real choice to it. Never thought there would be another path for me to take then being in th Alliance military. eight generations it has been the way it has been in my family." He looked out at the stars as he took a sip of his tea.
"Every man in my family has served for eight generations. Who am I to change 200 years of tradition. I left out for training at 17 and never looked back." There wasn't much to his story, his life was the Alliance through its ups and downs, and it definatly had those, he had stuck it out. He beieved it was here to bring the best it could to the verse even when things went wrong it was trying to do the right thing.

"The Alliance should count themselves lucky, 8 generations of men like you, that is a wonderful thing." She smiled at him and looked back out at the stars. "I'm not sure I can see you as a Companion though Tigh." She said with a smirk. She was teasing him, of course, he would have been trained and a different man today. However, she did have a hard time picturing the man comfortable taking on male clients. The thought made her smirk, most companions stopped seeing it as male of female, clients took on a completely different form in her mind.
"Tell me about your ship Tigh, and don't spare the pride." She smiled at him, this time with excitement behind her eyes and she took a sip of tea.

Tigh gave out a loud chuckle about the idea of him being a companian. No, he couldn't see that as a possibility either, he was a military man through and through. Tigh hadn't relaxed this much since he was placed in charge of the Esteem. Well actually he cloudn't remember the last time he was this relaxed.
When she asked about the ship and not to spare his pride he thought the question over a bit. He knew most ever detail of the ship, and though he hadn't had much time as the commander of the ship he had a lot of pride in it already. "The Esteem, well she is a grand old ship, got a lot to be to be proud of with her. Newly refit with everything you could want in a ship." The ship was impressive but it wasn't much different then any other ship really.
"But the shp isn't what makes someone proud of it. It is her crew. We have quiet a young staff but they are exceptional. I can't think of mone of my officers that doesn't stand out above and beyond those on any other alliance ship." He may not have hand picked each and every person on the ship but he didn't show any reservation of requesting someone who didn't fit his needs to be reassigned.
"Still working on getting a first mate on the ship though. I was luck enough to be allowed to decide that for myself. Got it down to a few really good officers but it will take a bit of time to decide for sure." He looked very pleased with that idea. He had infact narrowed it down to three officer, Cavina, Tucker, and Inaka. It would be one of them for sure, unless there was some undiscovered talent he didn't know about yet. There wasn't to much time till he would appoint someone though. once things were done on Persephone and they were headed to Red Sun System to patrol there he would have to make up his mind.

"Whom ever you choose, I am sure they will compliment you." She smiled at him, a good first mate, she would guess, was like having an extra set of hands. Someone you could trust, and that would help you no matter the situation. She suspected who ever he chose, they would be as loyal as he was. She hoped at least. Some people could hold a front better than others.
Patricia listened as he spoke, she smiled and nodded to him, she could see the pride him in, he loved his ship. As it should be if anyone asked her. Though she also could see a good deal of stress leaving his body. If they were anyplace else, she would rub his shoulders for him. Not that she had plans of 'taking advantage' of him, however she knew how little time off he had. She was happily surprised he was willing to take this time with her.
Carefully she pour some more tea into their cups, letting the hot liquid refresh what was in their cups. She took a sip, they had good tea, another surprise, most ships like this didn't seem to concern themselves with that type of thing.
"I wonder how much more time I can keep you from your work Tigh." She smiled as she said it, she knew he had to work but she was enjoying herself as well. If he needed to depart, she had no right to keep him from completing his work. Aside from that, she would have to make it known to him, if he ever wished to talk, her door was always open to him.

Patricia was right tigh was running low on time. He would have to get back to his work if he didn't want to make a night of it. "Yes of course I will need to be getting back to work here in just a few. I did want to ask you for a bit of your time in about a week though."
The Esteem had a guest coming. Not really one Tigh wanted on his ship but he had little choce in it. Duke Rider had recently been apointed as the chief council of the court of nobles. That made him the highest ranking of the nobles court and one of the top figures in the government. Tigh had no ability to turn him away.
At least the event was a positive one. It was the Duke awarding the Esteem for itse efforts here on Persephone. They had a long way to go but at least they were making progress. "The Chief Council of the Noble's Court, Duke Rider be be here on the ship on eight days, We will be having a bit of a display for him and I figured you could come with me to the event." He hoped she would be alright with going to it. He himself wasn't a fan of the idea of being at it but he would manage.
