[January 18th, 2523]
Sibil had snuck away to her office that was near the bridge to get started on some paperwork. She was expecting a small group of mercenaries to arrive in a couple days, White Arrow. There wasn't much in the way of happiness regarding that particular situation in her, but every able body in her security team would be welcome.
Another new addition she was aware of had been a Companion joining the Esteem. It was odd to Sibil as to that choice for the woman, but it would be good for her work. There were plenty of men on the ship, many of them probably would be happy to hire her services.
After only about fifteen minutes into her paperwork there was a knock at the door, Sibil sighed. Adamala probably got cornered by someone wondering where she was. So much for her paperwork, "Enter." She said as she stood from her desk.

Patricia entered the room slowly, after talking with Tigh, she thought it might be best to get to know the rest of the staff. He had mentioned that Sibil was the head of security. In her experience someone you wanted to make friends with.
After closing the door, her arms went behind her back and she held them there for a moment, looking the woman over, trying to figure out how this woman expected her to act. Deciding the friendly normal behavior would work best she moved toward her gracefully and extended a hand to the young woman. "Hello, I'm Patricia, I was directed here by a nervous looking guard."

Sibil watched the woman come in slowly, it wasn't an officer at least. Perhaps she would be able to get some things done after all. The Lieutenant Commander felt safe in assuming that this was the companion that had joined them.
With a slight smile of her own she took the woman's hand, only shaking for a moment before letting go. "Nice to meet you Patricia, Lieutenant Commander Sibil Tucker. Please have a seat." Gesturing toward the chair in front of her desk as she sat back in her own.
Sibil looked at the companion for a moment, she'd never met one in person. She was beautiful and elegant, as one would expect from one such as her. "I hope you're finding everything acceptable here on the Esteem."

Patricia nodded several times then smiled as she sat. "I think I am a bit of a distraction to your men. I saw one fall down some stairs earlier." She was joking to some extent, the man did fall down some stairs, but she wasn't sure he was Sibil's or if she herself did in fact have something to do with it. Though she did turn heads among the crew members.
"However, I do love this ship Sibil, what you and the Admiral have done is quite amazing."

Sibil raised a brow at her mention of the distraction, she could tell the woman was at least semi-serious. "I guess I'll need to address my men, can't provide security if they can't keep themselves focused." Perhaps she should have addressed the potential of the situation before Patricia arrived. No matter now, what's done was done.
She smiled at the companion when she complimented her, "Thank you Patricia, I just do my job however." Sibil was glad to be doing her job, she felt like she was good at it. She'd turned out to be quite fortunate on the career front.
"Do you have any concerns or anything that you need to share with me about your being on board?" Sibil wasn't sure about the life of companions, if there was anything for her to worry about at all. There was usually some jerk that she might come across though.

"I do have questions Lieutenant Commander," Patricia paused she had to check her mental check list quickly, not only to make sure she used the correct title but to make sure some of her questions were addressed. "I wanted to discuses my role on this ship and my clients." Yes, those had been her main concerns, she was sure of that. Though there was a healthy amount of wanting to get to know Sibil.
"I have no intention in using my trade on anyone on the ship, despite," 'how to word this', she though, "touching requests, however, what kind of clearance would be necessary to bring a client aboard? I know of one, she would prefer the members of her council from seeing her with a companion." She paused only briefly, she needed these answers, but they were not her reason for coming.

Sibil was rather surprised that the companion apparently had no intention of using her trade on the Esteem's crew. What exactly was the point of her choosing to be on the ship then? It made the Lieutenant Commander a little suspicious. She did want to bring someone else on board though as a client.
"Nothing too harsh really, routine security background check. Probably a search once they come on board, depending on the results of the security checks." Same thing they did for just about anyone coming on board the ship, even new crew. "That can all go through myself of course, so your client's anonymity is respected." Sibil decided to add that for the companion's comfort, along with her client.
The curiosity was eating at Sibil, she had to ask "If I may Patricia, is there a particular reason why you aren't offering your services to those on board the Esteem? I assumed that's why you wanted a place here." There was no harshness in the question, Sibil's voice had been softened so that the woman didn't feel like she had no choice in giving her an answer.

Patricia smiled softly. "I came to expand my client base, yes, but mostly as a chance to be on a ship. With a crew like the one you have here. I didn't always want to be a companion, I wanted to be an officer like yourself." She paused, she didn't know how in depth she wanted to get with this woman, but she felt she owed her some sort of answer. "Someone I respect once told me, that on any ship, my trade could complicate matters. I am just looking forward to seeing new planets, and the clients they may hold."
She was talking about her uncle, a man of great talents, and one of her teachers. She supposed her lust for travel came from him. That wasn't to say there wasn't going to be exceptions to her saying that, but she was already having hard time with her client selections, her inbox would take days to sort out.
"However, I can and will serve as a ship's counselor if anyone is ever in need. Though physical intimacy isn't something else entirely." Truth be told, it was something she was looking forward to avoiding for the next few weeks, maybe months.

Sibil nodded as Patricia explained that she mostly just wanted to be on a ship. Interested in the fact she said that she had wanted to be an officer instead of a companion. "I can see the complication of it, however if handled carefully I'm sure it would be good for your business. That aside I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, it's your choice to make of course. I appreciate the explanation. As far as new planets for you, I'm afraid our orders to stay here in orbit of Persephone seem to be a long term thing."
Again there was curiosity in Sibil, now about why the woman had become a companion instead of pursuing her desire to be an officer. However at the moment she was able to push that aside, she'd already asked the woman what might be considered a personal question. Patricia had been kind enough to answer her though.

Patricia nodded. "Your Admiral stated as much, I am looking forward to our extended stay. It will almost be like a vacation, only less parties and more getting to know people." She said in jokingly, she was looking forward to getting to know the crew, and not having to work for a little while. She had already met the client on the surface before coming to the Esteem, then again, he might want her again. There was no telling these days.
"Will you tell me about yourself Sibil?"

Sibil smiled slightly at Patricia, a companion's life is but one big party isn't it? So the woman was here to be sociable as well it seemed. Another curiosity. Raising her brow at the question, "With all due respect Patricia, while I am all for conversing when I'm not on duty, I'm currently not on my own time."
Really Sibil didn't mind chatting and such, but there was very little time for things like that. At least for the chief of security. Standing from her chair she continued, "Perhaps if our paths cross when during my five hour free-time I get daily. While we're on the subject, I would also appreciate it if you didn't converse too much with my men while they're working."
She walked slowly around to the other side of her desk while speaking, stopping a few feet away from the companion. "I do appreciate you stopping by, and if you come across anyone giving you problems. Or if you just need something that I can do for you, don't hesitate to let me know."
