Location: West medical wing ICU
(OCC- Any char needing a fresh start may post here.)
A week after returning from Hera, Doctor Ai Tsuchiya was busy working trying to find out what happened to these people. It was so random That she knew it had to be partly the fault of the Alliance Med-core or a sub-group. The people started with fever and then slipped into a coma. Now many were on life supports and feeding lines.
Making her rounds again for the eighth time today Ai checked the status of those in her care. Still many were in that quiet death like state that Tsuchiya found disturbing. Going up to a young males set of machines she checked the read-outs. The same as they were two hour ago. With a sigh she moved on to the other male who had been crammed three to a room. The ICU ward was stating to fill she hoped soon that a change to these poor peoples stats came soon.

Ai seem to have gone round and round the ward so many times she might have worn a path in the floor. Coming back to the long termers Ai entered a room of one who had been in the ward the longest so far. She had established a ground break through for those in long term situations. Taking her knowledge of cybernetics and applying it to out side workings to work the muscles and nerves to fire properly giving the coma paitent a shorter rehab time, nearly six months shorter for those long term and two months for those under six months.
Though the tech had to be shared with fifteen others each person got an hour of work out each day. This gave the muscles the composition and structer needed to work proper when the time came for them to wake. Once again Ai supervised the run through of each paitent once a day making sure that it worked proper for each and tested with her neuro gages and micro MRI. The MIcro MRI was not the top of the line as the over side room holo-suites but it gave her the needed information. Sighing she watched as the leg muscles fired then alternated with the finger toes and arm muscles.

That’s what it felt like for the blond girl who was comatose. Her ears could make out faint noises but her brain couldn’t register them. Her body stayed in one spot withering away. Her already light figure was but bones. Whether anyone knew her name she wasn’t sure. Not like the girl’s family would come to her side. She had robbed her grandmother who knows how long ago. Sense of time was gone as she tried to grasp for the surface. The girl laying there as life passed by in stereo sounds had no one. No friends. No family. Not even an old crew who might vouche for her.
That girl was Arabella Alexandria Elizabeth Hart. Once a debutant who left that life behind because she hadn’t been born into it. Living a life on the run, she had found refuge in odd jobs aboard ships and planetside. Until she found a ship-the Lenore-which she found ways to fit in. They had even robbed from her grandmother. But that life was long gone. A few months after celebrating Arabella began to feel...odd. She thought it was just a terrible flu and kept herself rested. Then one day she barely made it back to her little dorm. The world spun before darkness encased her vision. she didn’t even feel hitting the floor. Or being brought to Ariel. She felt...nothing. Just odd noises as if through an old radio. Nothing could be made out and empty noise filled it most of the time. Lately real sounds began to fill her mind again. They still couldn’t be made out but they were there. That she was aware of.
Slowly, as minutes passed, the surface seemed within reach. Constant beeps were the first thing that made sense. Who knows how long she heard that before other noises mixed in. Were those heels on the tile? And sounds of quiet chatter? Arabella fought to reach the noises that called to her-beckoning her from this state of nothingness. Tears fell from her lids as she tried to break away from the darkness. All she wanted was out of the darkness and back into the world of the living. Why couldn’t it be easier? As she felt her chest moving for air, her throat choked against something. What was keeping her form breathing? And calling out for help? Lids opened to bright lights that blinded her, causing pain. The tears fell down harder as she tried to move her arms. But she could barely lift them. Fingers gripped at a sheet as she sobbed, hurting her throat from the heaving.
Why would no one help her?

Ai was watching the nerve response when the off sequence muscle reaction started to happen. Ai then looked at the patient's face and saw she was awake. Hollering for them to stop the muscle nerve work out, she pushed to the left side of the bed. Gently she removed the breathing tube and loosened the restraining straps.
Calm yourself, we're here and you're coming back OK? We'll help you as well... Get the IV waking mixture and bring it STAT! We need her fully awake before she can slip back under.
Doctor Tsuchiya smiled down to the young woman and started to pat rhythmically on her upper chest.
Feel the beat and bring your heart to follow it, breath in deep and strong to clear the fog from your head. That will help also. And what is more, remember you're among friends.

There were wires and restraints so she was stuck. Tears fell down in streaks as it was about the only thing she could do. Clamping her lids shut, the edges of her mind were still cloudy. Relaxing her muscles, the plastic down her throat was slowly coming out. She coughed against it, nearly choking. When it was out she took in a giant gulp of air. When was the last time she tasted the air around her? Arabella had no idea about anything except she felt very heavy. Like she was being weighed down to the bed. reopening her eyes, she stared upwards at the face that was before her.
Opening her mouth to try and talk, nothing came out. It was like she had forgotten how to speak. The words formed in her mind-she could see them in front of her eyes. Waking mixture? What was going on where she needed helping waking up? Last she remembers she was only sick with some stomach bug. In her mind she tried connecting the dots from being sick with a fever to needing help waking up. None of it made sense. This wasn’t the infirmary of the Lenore. Which meant she was in a hospital which was no good. Thrashing around, all she knew was she had to go. Arabella couldn’t be anywhere close to Londinium. Panic mixed with confusion didn’t do well for her nerves.
But the woman was kind. As others moved in on her bed, Arabella did her best to focus on what she was told to do. In her fright she hadn’t realized the blood rushed through her veins and heart a mile a minute. Moving her dried lips she gulped at the air. She tried to think of happier times to calm herself. Bettie’s face came to mind along with Alec’s. The two people in her life she could actually call family. But they weren’t here and probably had no idea where she was. Not like anyone could properly get ahold of them. Or that she had friends who would try getting ahold of them either. As she felt herself calm some, she tried to move her legs. They moved maybe centimeters if that. ”wer....” was her feeble attempt at figuring out where she was. It was faint as she felt warmth travel through her body. The bag was hooked up to her IV and slowly the fogginess felt less overwhelming on the edges of her mind. Soon she would hopefully be thinking clearly.

Ai watched as the young woman struggled to keep awake as the nutrition flowed into her veins. She tried hard to listen to the words quietly emerging from her lips but they were drowned out by the business of the nurses. Yet she had done this enough times to kinda know what their first words were.
Speaking softy into her patient's ear-Your safe at St. Lucy. All found who were in a coma state are classed as Jane or John Doe's. The Mercy Healers leage has proclaimed that all found, but the most dangerous, are to be given a pardon and no records will be recorded.
Tsuchiya leaned back from her and took her record chart. Smiling once again she stated for all to hear.
Well Miss Doe we'll have you up and running in no time for sure, and don't you worry none you're in the best of hands.......Mine.

She hated feeling helpless; especially since however many months before she had learned to stand up for herself. No longer had she been entirely afraid of men and even learned how to fire her gun. As she felt her heart race ease she tried to bring herself back to reality. It took a bit to calm with all the people bustling about. But the woman who was talking to her moved closer as Arabella wondered if people knew her or not. Despite the fact people were getting pardons didn't mean too much to her at first. But maybe that did mean that eventually people would stop looking for her and she could freely visit Bettie.
Her body sunk down slightly as she felt herself relax. For now she wouldn't worry about those things. At this time she just needed to get better and find someplace to go again. Her eyes blinked at everyone around her as she nodded. Maybe this group wouldn't be too bad. No one looked particularly mean or like the knew her. Even though she knew it was her own paranoia she always worried about those things. Stupid but after being forced into a "proper" role she didn't want to go back.
