Cadan's attempts to make things right, his attempt to offer a way to save Kalli was interrupted by Sidney's punch, his breath was knocked clean out of him. Then without even realizing what happened he could feel a pain in the back of his head and he couldn't breath. This was it he was going to die, and he deserved it for what he had done.
If Sidney didn't shoot him then he would surely suffocate in not to long. Sidney wanted him to give a reason but with him hand so tightly around his neck he couldn't breath much less talk. There was no way for him to give a reason, but that is probably exactly what Sidney had wanted. His hands scrabbled to Sidney's arms beating on the inner side of Sidney's elbows, when that did nothing he moved his hands to Sidney's hands.
By this point Layla was talking, taking the blame for what he did. 'No she wasn't involved. It's my fault focus on me." He thought to himself since he couldn't talk. He couldn't move his head Sidney's grip was so tight by now. Cadan's hands were feebly prying as hard as they could to loosen Sidney's grip.
He heard Meilin slam the tray and begin to yell as well. Though she seemed to not favor Cadan, and rightfully so she was opposed to him being killed. Cadan's had begun to try and kick at Sidney be by this point he was starting to become a bit sluggish. The rest of the crew weighed on on what to do but as time prgressed everything began to sound less understandable as if he were underwater.
Finally Sidney slammed him to the glass one more time and let go. Cadan dropped to the floor on his hands and knees in a fit of coughing. He was gasping for a breath his vision blurred from the lack of air. After several deep breaths and the coughing subsiding. "We need a companion so we can get on the Maiden's Mercy. we can save 'er we just need ter be quick." he bleted out as soon as he had gotten his breathing back under control.
"I'm sorry. i'll explain everythin' mashed potato for na lets focus on kalli." He wasn't trying to turn the attention off of himself but they had only so much time. They needed to act then they could do what they needed to with him.

James could tell Sidney was furious! He was ready to kill Cadan had James not stepped in. James felt like he had betrayed his best friend and comrade. But it had to be done. ”Shut the ruttin’ hell up” James told him now also pulling his gun on Cadan ”Don’t say a word” James followed up with it before his sister could say another word. ”Between the three of them I’m sure they can come up with a rescue plan” he told him lowering his gun and holstering it ”What the hell were the two of you playing at your lucky I don’t shoot you” James had to admit he had made his fair share of mistakes especially during the years following the war. That was maybe why Cadan was starting to grow on him a little. He didn’t wanna see the kid harmed mainly because of Layla. ”You endangered my crew!” James didn’t even know where he was going with this anymore. ”If your willing to do this much for her Ashdown then I expect you to goram marry her” oh that was where he was going. He didn’t expect that. Truth is maybe he did. Things on Trinity had a habit of going south and he might not always be here. Right here, right now Cadan had proved his love for his sister. The only thing saving him from Sid’s wrath was the agreement of marriage right now.

What a surprise, another gun, and it was pointed at him once again. This was becoming a theme for him, with the pissing off the crew. Atleast the attention was turning back to him it seemed.
Of course he wasn't expecting the surprise ending. He was shocked at what James said. He had no idea how to react to it. 'Let's just get back to the chocking to death instead.' He though. That would be better then being put on the spot with what seemed to him as a loaded question. He had to speak up before James though he was stalling so he blurted out without thinking.
"Of course I would do aahhht for 'er. she's great, she's wonderful' she's perfect." He continued "She is exactly everythin' I would want in the person I marry, but it ain't your choice ter decide if we get married, but it is up ter 'er ter decide on that." Did he really just say all of that. He back talked the crazy people with guns, yeah smart choice. He thought it over for a minute what had he said.
He decided not to say anymore. It was best he didn't dig this hole any deeper. Maybe he would accept that answer and let him live long enough to help them save Kalli. If he was lucky he would also have a chance to say his final goodbye's to Layla as well.

It was probably more James' sudden arrival than even the four votes to spare Cadan that got Sidney to reluctantly stand down. And it was about time he showed up too. The crew needed direction and they were not getting it from Sidney. The 'planned' job was over so there was no real reason for James to stay in the background any longer. They weren't there yet but James was about to have them set with a plan as well as resolving their other internal issues.
Roger did as commanded and went to plan some sort of rescue with Sidney. This wasn't exactly going to be fun. Roger probably wasn't his favorite person at the moment, having surprisingly come down on the side of Cadan just moments ago instead of on the side of spacing him. "You know that what I said was true if maybe embellished a little. Under normal circumstances I'd never question your command but... these aren't normal circumstances." Hopefully that would help ease things for the moment. "Now, how are we going to kill these bastards?"

Sidney was grumbling as him and Roger walked way for the situation. He would much rather finished the job he has jus started. He over heard Cadan's comment about a companion as they were walking away. At least the Kid had already figure out a way to fix what never needed to happen in the first place.
Then Roger spoke up. He was willing to conceed that he might have over stepped for normal circumstances, and this was like he said far from normal. Sidney turned his direction and walked in to the infirmary instead of finding somewhere else to figure out the plan he had taken Cadna's words in and decided he was right but first he wanted to check on Tari. "I don't expect you to question your own actions Roger. I'm the one that should have done things differently." He was begining to calm down again. Roger was right Cadan was the only one who could offer them a way to save Kalli.
As they went in to the infirmary Sidney walked up to Tari's bed side once again. He knelt down next to her bed so he wouldn't need to speak load. "You doing alright? He asked her, as he reached over and grabbed her hand giving it a slight squeeze to let her know he was there. "What else do you know about all this Tari?"
He gave her some time to talk to him before he turned back to Roger. "We need to find a companion that we can get out here right away." Once Tari was done saying anything more she had to say and was ready to let him get back to business he would get right on that.

The change in James' appearance was surprising to Meilin, in a good way. He looked much more like a Captain now, less worn and tired. With Sidney no longer actively trying to kill Cadan, she felt like the situation was a bit calmer. Easier to handle. Meilin finished mopping up the spilt tea on the tray. There wasn't a lot of tea left to drink, so Meilin took the tray and made an escape to the galley.
It was blessedly deserted there, and the others were out of earshot unless they shouted. Meilin rinsed and dried off the glasses, keeping one out and pouring the hot tea she had left on the stove into it. She stared down at the tea, swirling the liquid around in the cup a little. Being alone, she didn't feel as ashamed by the tears that slipped down her cheek now. Please be ok, Kalli. They've got a plan, they're gonna save ya.

After much words from everyone else Sid let go of Cadan, Layla bent down to him. She knew from the tone in her brother's voice that he was upset. Rightfully so with what his baby sister had just said. While it was a bit of a lie, she did what she felt she had to.
Layla was prepared for James' anger, he was right to be angry, and so was she. Though hers would have to come at a later time when she and Cadan were alone. When James had cut her off from saying anything in retort she jumped a little. Her head lowered in shame as he continued. He was right really. Kalli had been kidnapped, Tari and Sid had both been shot; they were very lucky that was all. For the moment. They still had to get Kalli back.
Just as quickly she felt the shame, shock swept through Layla. She gasped and nearly choked a little. How the hell did that even come up in this conversation? She coughed a few times in reaction to her nearly choking on nothing. She just stared at her brother for a minute, that is until Cadan responded. Then she stared at him, she was at a loss. What the hell?!
She didn't think anything through when she spoke, it just all came out. "You know I think there's a bit more pressing matters to deal with right now. But in the off-chance that no one here shoots Cadan, yeah I'd marry him...after everything that's gone on today I can't believe that was something on your mind James..really?" Her words came out quickly. She couldn't believe that James had said that.

[[Note: mis-spellings in Tari's speaking is intended to help with the fact that she's not really all there at the moment]]
Tari had a hard time keeping up with anything going on, she was still only semi-conscious during the entire fiasco. She could tell though that there was alot of anger in the area though, that was obvious. The only conclusion that she could make was that Cadan had revealed his part in all of this.
She heard Sidney's voice close to her again, felt him hold her hand. Tari tried to squeeze his hand in return, but wasn't sure if she succeeded or not. "Hay boss...im 'ere. Thanks to tha doc, she's a shiny one. Say you guys are loud..so much anger, goin' at the wrong one." a slight smile crossed her lips, She thought of Sid as the Captain mostly due to the fact that James had been down because of injuries for the last while. With his question about what she knew the small smile she had faded, "don know much.. jus a lil that I made'm tell me after I went an' got myself shot. Duke is a right bastard if ya ask me.."
It seemed as though she was done talking, and probably should have been. Though when Sid went to get up Tari didn't let go of his hand. She was having a nice lucid moment here, "Sid..once tha doc gets me on mah feet I'll leave ya kno..don want to cause problms bein who I am an' all..." Tari didn't really want to leave the Trinity, it'd become sort of a home to the thief. Something she'd not felt in a long time, if ever really. She would though, now that the crew knew she was a thief and a liar, they'd probably be happy about it.
Tari let go of Sid's hand, sleep didn't overcome her again yet though, she just stared up at Sid until he was out of her view. Then her eyes closed. If she was more in control of herself she wouldn't have cried, but as it was a few tears escaped and fell down her cheek.

Sidney was finally reaching his level headed ways once more as he talked to Tari and thought over his plans to save Kalli at the same time. That is exactly what he needed something to distract his focus from being completely on getting Kalli back.
Taris talk about leaving the ship was disapointing. She had become a part of this crew, a valued part of it as well. Without her they wouldn't have been able to retieve the files. Though it seemed the files were less importent then they had thought. "When your back on your feet and ready to leave Tari, I'll talk you out of it." He simply replied he know at this point fighting her on it wouldn't do much good the drugs had her in a state she wouldn't be able to think clearly in. When she was more lucid he would be able to talk to her about it. He could give a damn what the rest of the crew felt about her being a thief she was part of the crew.

Sidney was cooling down. If he was upset with Roger then at least he understood that the anger was misplaced. Tari seemed to be doing well though it didn't seem as a comfort at all to Sidney. Instead of allowing him to focus rationally on the mission it actually drew him closer back into his emotional state from moments before. Her words weren't always coherent as she tried to participate in conversation due to her heavily medicated state, but such a level of focus and consciousness was a good sign for her future recovery.
"So we plan to waltz onto this ship in disguise with a companion as an escort? Don't that limit it to just one of us gettin' in then?" Roger asked, trying to return the conversation to the mission at hand rather than talk of crew members leaving. "If that's the case then who are we sendin' in on point, Art?"
While speaking, Roger had been giving hand and arm signals to try and get Sakura to take a look at Sidney's injury. It was minor and didn't require immediate attention but only a fool would ignore it. They were in the infirmary already talking so why not patch it up. And if Sidney were to insist on going aboard the Maiden's Mercy or even just to take point on recruiting the companion, as he was likely to do, a bleeding side wound was not going to help.

Roger's comments quickly pulled him back to the mission. He had everything in his head already figured out, or at least hopefully so. "We get a companion here we'll use the campanion to give the ship a reason to dock." He began to explain though really they didn't know all the details. All they knew from what Cadan had said was they they needed a companion to get on board. Little did they know that they were selling companions up there. That would chance everything once they knew.
"Once we are docked we'll do what it takes to get to Kalli. As far as point I'll handle that but since Cadan managed to get us in this situation I'll have him up there with me so I can keep an eye on him." Really what he ment was that he was more then willing to shoot him if he forgot to tell him anything else.
"we need to track down a companion, as soon as we do I'll contact her." He though over having someone else doing it but honestly he was to determined to get Kalli back and didn't trust anyone else to take charge of this opporation. Not to mention he has had contact with companions before and that would help convince them he was acceptable to deal with.

The plan didn't really seem too concrete yet, more like they were winging it. Even at that they were going in understrength if just the companion, Sidney, and Cadan were to be the team that actually infiltrates under the guise of legitimate 'slave traders' or whatever. Cadan has his face smashed from that recent confrontation, proved not to be much of a fighter, is not in the mood to go anywhere with Sidney, and Sideny isn't about to go out of his way to save Cadan when things get heated in there. It doesn't really matter though since he'd be completely occupied protecting their companion instead, assuming that he doesn't slip back into his emotional frenzy and forget everything in his attempt to rescue Kalli.
"What are the rest of us doing in this plan?" Roger asked. "Y'all board and do your high society slave trade thing while we sit on the ship and pretend like we aren't here to crash the party? If things don't go smoothly and you can't simply walk out then we all burst through the airlock and go crazy?"

Roger was right the plan needed more thought something to make sure everything went smoothly out there. This was going to be a tough run and they had to be ready. "We're going to use the companion as a decoy to get on the ship. We'll need a few of us to escort her to where they are keeping Kalli. Once we have her I could care less if we need to kill everyone on the ship."
He began to walk out of the infirmary at this point with Roger along side. "To be honest I am not sure how many of us they will let escort her in. We'll have to play that one by ear when we get there. If we have to split up well radio to let you know we got Kalli and are headed back to the ship. Then we can take control of anyone that tries to get in the way from there."
Yeah the plan was limited but there were alot of veriables in it. If everyone could go then everyone would. If not then they would have a team go get here while the other team was ready to act if an issue came up, a team that could charge toward them when they charge back to the ship. Try to pin the enemy in from both sides so they could take them out quick.
