A arid hot blustery day with a wind so hot that it would peel the cooked flesh off of bones while your still movin'. These days were what Cannon like for it made those of the criminal world hide in their crevacess till dark. There weren't to many of them that he did not know about or could not find out about soon enough.
Cannon was on another route today and going to give a hand to a small office. They had just had a few break and enters and one cash and goes from the drop caches. So he would find and cleanse the town till the order was restored. However long it would take he did not know but he'd stay and help out.
Now walking on foot because his last horse died about two miles back. He would have flew his ship over but the fuel cells died. Now with the ship just a piece of junk sitting there collecting sand and dust plus with his funds running low he decided to sell off the small ship to the law office and move to an area of greater need. The town he was headed for was called Hearns. This smaller than normal town did suport a landing pad and a salt mine, but not to much more. He had also a wave forward to recieve a secondary job when getting there. Who this was he was not sure but to Cannon work was work as long as it was honest.

NOTE: Writing in Navy Blue will be used for all of Claudio's associates and workers. A small man stood, watching the road into town. Karl was waiting for a man, because he had been told to, and he knew that his employer would not excuse any failure or mistake. All he knew, was that a man named Garret was coming to town, and he was to meet with him about a job. As he sat, nervously waiting he began to wonder if the man would indeed show. Then he saw someone walking towards town, and he began walking out to meet him. It had to be Garret, how many other people would be walking out there? As he approached the man, he began to wonder what his employer would want with a man like this. He looked like a lawman, and usually most people in his area stayed away from this type. Karl had no reason to doubt his orders, and so he stopped within speaking distance, and hailed the man. "Are you Garret?" He said, putting his hand in his pocket and grabbing his pistol, just in case things got messy, "I have information for you."

Garret sundried and a bit on edge by the length of his walk had about enough of what the day had instore for him. Yet the people of Whitefall obviously did not see it that way. He jumped a bit at hearing words directed toward him. Quickly flinging his rifle forward in a spinning he was able to arm his rifle and take aim at the person before him in one smooth move. Altho the eyes being a bit sun blind he was still able to make out a human form and aim well enough to drop him if they moved a hair to draw their gun. Yeas I ams. Who might you'uns be?One could never tell with Whitefall as to who was who and on which side they stood. Cannon had to give this man the benefit of the doubt as to his motives and reason to have been talked at. I had word that some one was to contact me on my arrival. Would that be yous? If it is why not take this out of the bloody sun I'm a bit parched from the walk.Still keeping that blurry aim upon the figure that stood in the shadows of the walkway shelter or was it a shadow of a building? His eyes was giving him a hard time. So he moved slowly toward the other man trying to find that long sought after shade.

Karl relaxed a little, as the man seemed to be friendly enough. He moved aside, letting the man move on to the porch, "Well, Mr. Garret, my employer has a proposition for you. Don't ask me the details because i don't know them, All i am is a messenger." He held out an envelope. "This contains information on the job, but my employer specified that you are not to open it until you speak to him. He said to tell you to go into the bar, and wait by the cortex terminal. I will notify him once you are there, and he will contact you." Karl paused, "Clear?"

Moving into the shade Garret relaxed a bit but not much. He still though kept his gun cocked and ready to fire. Nodding to this fellow he looked about for the bar only to find it about two doors down from where he was at.
Radder talk face to face but if your'in boss is off world then I see no real harms in wats he got to say to me. Besides I do need a drink after that walkin' I did'z.
Garret gave a slight nod to the informant and made for the bar. Once he got near the swinging doors he heard the ping-plank of an old up-right piano being played. Now that brought back memories, some good and some very bad. Uncocking his rifle en entered the bar moved to the bar ordered chilled water and moved over to the cortex terminal. Slowly sipping the water letting his hunger for water abate slowly whle he sucked on a teaspoon full of salt to bring his eye clearity. It was nice being out of the heat and into a shady place no matter how many flies were buzzing around a drunk who \had passed out about an hour ago, from the looks of it.

Karl walked away from the man, and pulled out the communication device he had been given, opening it, he spoke. "Well, he is ready," he said matter of factly, He listened for a response, but got nothing for a while. He stood outside, with the device, and finally he heard something.
"Very good", said the voice on the other end, "you have done well Karl, it has been a pleasure working with you."
Something about how the man had said working with you alarmed him, "Wait a minute," He said, concerned, "What about my payment? I was promised three hundered..." He was cut off by the other man.
"Karl, you can't expect me not to reward you can you?" The man on the other end laughed, a long unpleasant, evil laugh. "As i said before, it has been a pleasure." He disconnected
"What do you mean? What is that supposed to.." Karl was cut off by the three pairs of had that seized him, dragging him away.
"Sir," Said one of the guards as he walked in, "We have him." Claudio sat back in his chair, and smiled "Very good," He said, "I shall deal with him later." He always enjoyed deceiving the poor stupid commoners. But now he had other work to do. Pulling his hat low, and sitting back against his high backed chair, he initiated a wave with the terminal in the Whitefall . He had lots of practice in this kind of conversation. This man, Garret would not be able to see anything other than a shadowy figure. "Mr. Garret," he said, as the wave began, "I am glad you are interested. I have some work that is," He paused, "Right up your alley."

Waiting in a bar for a wave contact was not how he liked doing things. If ever the bells of a sneak thief or a life long criminal had not sounded in Cannon's mind when he first met the redirecting contact he would had thought it was some thing less than it was. Either way dealing with criminals had to happen to see how far their plans would go and how best to save ones that would eventually be in need of saving.
So when the wave came and the second of the bells sounded due to not fully seeing the 'employer' only his shadow and also the wording used the beginning made the confirmation of the third and final bell to sound deep with in his soul. He had to find out who would be in trouble, even if this was legit. Of course this job was going to give him much trouble down the line, but..... it could not be helped.
Crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair.......As you might already know I'mma 'Tinman' heres on Whitefall. An as suchted I have dealt with all kinds and manners of peoples. So.... unlessin you goin's ta haves me killin' some one then think better of it. If's now you needin some one protected or shipment looked after then I'mma OK wit that. Mind yous as long as it's wit in the laws.
Garret loved to drag this families guttural terms through the proverbial mud ever once in a while. It often gave him that uneducated backwater hick sounds. He had to admit that something good did come from his conman, law dishonoring family. Until some one saw his handy work did they ever fully under stand that he was smarter than he put on.
Tilting his head to one side he let a shaft of light break past his head to give a hero halo to his wave and also to simply see if the distraction could go both ways, the loss of visibility.
