Background:
Lily grew up in a rich aristocratic house hold, her father was a man of great wealth and power. He held a high office in the planets political structure and used it to suit his own personal needs. He saw everything in his life as a tool, which he could use to further his own agenda. Lily’s mother, Bethany was a beautiful woman; however she was as quiet as a mouse personality wise and thus found herself easily controlled by William, Lily’s father. Liliana was born on the 15th of March 2500 and her family as well as many of the noble society which her father had surrounded his family in rejoiced. It was truly a joyous occasion, William had his first born, and whilst he was somewhat pleased with the birth of his daughter it was clear for all to see he had been longing for a boy, a true heir to continue his lineage. After all what was there for William to teach a girl, he could not pass any of his skills unto a female and thus even as an infant Lily was starved of her father’s love. Whilst Bethany spent as much time as her lifestyle would allow, until the age of 10 she was essentially raised by an au pair his father paid for.Personality Traits/Flaws:
The first time William made a telling contribution to Lily’s life other than her conception was on her tenth birthday, when he began taking an interest in her life. He ensured she had the best tutors that money could buy and began enrolling her in lessons after school making sure all of her time was spent learning lessons that would benefit her and embrace her to the higher echelon of the social ladder. Lily was forced into singing, piano, ballet and fencing. Lily only felt a real connection with her singing lessons, as a little girl her mother had taken her to an opera and from that day she was in love with singing. Regardless of how she felt towards her other lessons she applied the same level of dedication towards each class and made stellar progress in all the fields. She was a true child protégé but despite how much progress was made and all those hours spentpracticingg, she could never earn her father’s love. William still saw her as a case of “what could have been” whenever he laid his eyes on his daughter he couldn’t help wish she had been a boy. Even without receiving her father’s love, Lily adored the man and the ground walked on. It was quite sad to see a case of unrequited love between father and daughter, but for Lily this was the life she led and no one could bad talk her father in her presence. Lily’s mother believed the reason William was pushing their only child so hard with so many lessons, was so that he had to spend less time with her. In his mind, the more time she spends practising, the less time he would have to waste being pestered by her.
This continued until her thirteenth birthday when she began spending more and more time on her singing choosing to negate her other skills. Surprisingly it was that birthday when Bethany, Lily’s mother began paying attention to her daughter, taking her to events and meetings allowing Lily a glimpse into what her future held. Whilst she enjoyed the attention her mother had finally begun showering her with, she hated the fact her life had been laid out for her. She felt like her mother had expected her to simply play the part, rather than be herself. Her heart still belonged to music; she longed to join an opera company and sing her way across the galaxy, allowing others to revel in her talent. However she continued to play the role for her mother’s sake, she was the perfect young woman and this lead to manyenquirerss as to the availability of her hand in marriage. As was custom amongst the social elite many children were paired off at a young age, allowing their parents to ensure their potential partner met the proper standards. Her father had tried to pair her off with a number of potential suitors but at the age of fourteen, Lily had no intention of agreeing to marry anyone. These pestering requests continued for the next few years, right up until she turned Seventeen.
At the age of seventeen Lily had blossomed into a beautiful young woman, one who had acquired all the social graces required to rule the social hierarchy. The suitors were relentless in their pursuit of Lily’s hand and even though she could see it visibly aggravated her father, she continued to resist all of their attempts. This was until she agreed to attend a gala inhonorr of the planets greatest tailor, she had reached an agreement with her father that she would finally choose a partner at the ball.
On the night of the gala, unbeknownst to Lily and her family, fate had saw fit to intervene in her life, entwining it with the destiny of another. From the second Lily glided into the room wearing an extravagant white silk dress she held the attention of every eligible gent in the room. It was clear she had many options, although none really caught her eye. The night went off like expected she spent timesocializingg with the women in her mother’s circle and cast her eyes over the entire room. This was until a charming young man managed to cause a distraction and pull her away from both the group and her father who had been keeping a close eye on proceedings. Lily was caught off guard by his baby blue eyes and enchanting smile; she was clearly taken by him but tried her best to hide it. They spent a few moments chatting and struck up a connection that she never thought possible with someone from this world. The rest of the night bored Lily as it failed to stand up to the few moments that she had spent chatting to James. At the end of the night her father asked Lily had she made a choice, this caught her of guard and she nervously said she had and much to her relieve that was the end of his interest. He simply applauded the fact she had ended her indecisiveness and finally decided upon a suitor.
Over the next few months she continued to meet up with James away from the prying eyes of her parents and their social equals. Six months into their courtship, they found each other deeply in love and decided to make their union official. They went to her father and introduced James to him and chose this moment to ask William for her hand in marriage. Surprisingly after doing his due diligence on the man, William decided to give his blessing to the union. This pleased Lily to no end, she finally had her fairytale that every little girl wished for. Unbeknownst to Lily her father had sinister intentions as he had found out all about James past and was intent on using it against him.
The months flew by, after planning every detail, Lily could not wait to wed the man of her dreams and hopefully leave the planet behind. On the morning of her wedding, her father brought terrible news; James had fled and taken every penny she had to her name with him. Her father explained to her that James was no more than a low class hustler, who had been conning her all along in order to rob her blind. He went on to reveal all of James’ shady past to his daughter; she was devastated and would never be the same again. For the next few years she spent her days learning her father’s business and working her way up the business ladder. She had forgone all of her passions, even her longing to be a musical star, she was now her father’s replacement son, she became everything he had wanted and was in prime position to carry on his business and political legacy. She had become cold, and distant. An ice queen if you will and would do anything to succeed, only now did her father truly embrace her as his child. It may have taken years but she finally managed to gather info on James’ whereabouts and began sending wave after wave of mercenaries after him. He had destroyed her hopes and dreams, now she was going to destroy him.
