After Kara’s 18th birthday they notified the academy of their romantic involvement, and received permission to pursue their feelings. It wasn’t until Kara turned 25 that she found her sister again. She left the academy and never returned. Jason found her and her sister, and allowed himself to be beaten by his lover so she could escape.
