Local town, Athena; Feburary 22nd 2523
Just before the Trinity arrived Sidney had been looking over the cortex for additional things they could do he had stubbled across a companion looking a ship to reside on. He had contacted her and let her know where they would be landing so she could meet them there. It was another paying passanger and someone that would be able to help keep all the expenses of the ship payed.
SIdney had told her exactly where to meet them as him and the rest of the crew were dealing with picking up the goods. They were all walking back and forth with the goods from the location they were picking them up at to and back to the ship. They hadn't been there too long but the companion hadn't shown up yet. Sidney wasn't sure if she had done some reseach on the crew and decided against it or maybe he just scared her off when talking to her. Then again maybe he just hadn't waited long enough yet, though he was getting a bit impatient and didn't want to leave everyone else working while he waited.

YOU AND I WALK A
FRAGILE LINE {I have know it all this time} She was not usually late, but the family that had taken her in had been slow at letting her go, and she'd felt bad at leaving. But it didn't matter. She'd managed to get away, and she had coaxed them into the wagon, later than intended, as they refused to see her go across the wasteland alone. Not that she had much, but still. Her blue dress was neat, and elegant, but businesslike. Nothing to give the crew she was joining up with, any ideas. She'd looked up most of the crew, and while not the best bunch, she had a feeling the captain, one Sidney Bainbrigde, kept his people in line.
They saw the ship, and she had to smile. A Firefly class. One of the newer classes, and non-military. She liked it. "You gonna be takin' off in that thing deary?" she turned to look at the old woman on her right. Georgia was always worrying about Sofia, ever since she'd taken the tall companion in. Sofia wasn't worried though.
"Yes. I have to leave. I'm a companion, and I do want to get out in the world. You do understand I hope." she said carefully, a soft smile on her lips. With these people she could be herself, and in their own way, they understood her problems. Well at least in a business atmosphere she could be her 'old' self. The horses came to a halt as the man stopped near the ship. He turned looking at her.
"You could stay here you know, it wouldn't hurt us at all." she smiled again, this time a little sadder. Oh she wanted to stay, but that wasn't possible, at least not for her.
"Thank you Rolf, but I can't. I have a job to do, and a fear to face. Thank you though." she started to get up, when the man got out before her and helped her down. She smiled a little, a half smirk on her face. She reached for her bag and checked to make sure she had at least some of the money. She had a few large boxes, which were not that heavy. Clothing was important, and all of the trappings of a companion, as well. She stopped, and took a deep breath. She could do this. She had to.
She walked forward, ignoring the man and woman behind her. They had a few things they wanted to sell to the ship. Fresh food, and the likes. She remembered the image of the captain that she'd seen, and spotted him. "Captain Bainbridge? I'm the Companion you spoke to over the cortex." There, that part was done. She stopped before him, and held out her hand. Act like you weren't terrified, sofi, just do it. It won't kill you. She waited to see his reaction.

Finally the woman he was waiting for arrived. only a few minutes from the time he had planned to met. Not a big deal and delays were always expected, and most importantly she was there before the crew had finished loading everything up. "yeah I'm captain bainbridge, but please feel free to call me Sidney." He told her, he had talked to Tari about how to introduce himself and what he should say to her. "It's a pleasure to meet you. you don't mind if I call you Sofia do you." Well that covered it that was about all he could remember of what he was told to say.
He walked over to her and offered up a hand to shake. "The crew is loading on the good for our current job, shouldn't be to much longer till we are on the way out fo here." He walked over and grabbed a crate and then headed back toward the ship. "If ya follow me I'll show you to the Trinity." He told her as he continued to walk. Well he had started out well but he couldn't help but get to work.
After just a short walk they were at the crago bay to the ship. "She may not be the prettiest ship in the verse but she is space worthy and can move faster then most other ships in her class." He began to tell her. Just keep the talking going and we will be good he thought. "I have cleared out a shuttle for you but I am sure you will want to put a few personal touches on it." He set the crate down an began up the stairs on to the catwalk that would take them to the shuttle.

YOU AND I WALK A
FRAGILE LINE {I have know it all this time} Sofia smiled. "Sidney it is then." she could do this. She kept her poise. She didn't look the part of a Shinon companion, but then again, she wasn't from Shinon. She nodded. "Sofia is fine." as little detail as possible, always good. At least for now. She wasn't quite comfortable with the crew, but maybe she'd end up feeling better in the future. For now, she was going to keep it professional.
She looked around. "Well I only have a few boxes. One of them has a life animal, but she's asleep." she said motioning behind her two the three good sized boxes, and one small one that had slits. "I can take her in myself." she added thoughtfully. The cat was not a friend to many. But still. She switched tracks as the captain started to move. She followed, lightly, and carefully, each step calculated. She grabbed the cage and followed, her gaze locked on the ship. Something about it was romantic. Not the loving kind either. The kind that had little girls and boys staring up at the stars wishing to fly in the sky night after night. She liked Trinity. "I'd love to see her. Read about them." She said carefully, keeping the awe out of her voice, bairly. It was pretty.
She stopped inside the ship, and looked around. She liked it. Rustic. And different from her home town. She had to smile, even as her cat mrowed from it's cage. It had apparently woken up. "Thank you Sidney. I like her. She's... Rustic." it was a nice. She easily followed the tall man, a smile on her lips. "I have everything I need. I do hope we make trips to planets that are a bit more... populated."

Athens wasn't the prettiest of planets to begin with but the planet still hadn't recovered from the scars of the war. The fight for Athens was no minor conflict but it never had the high death toll to compare to some of the other battles of the war. The cost for the civilian population, however, was likely the highest anywhere in the 'verse. Athens saw total war where no one was safe. It was not the place for tourists and Roger didn't particularly like hanging around even if it was more friendly to Browncoats than most other worlds.
The job was easy and seemed like it would stay easy, unlike the last job which reeked of falsehood and lies. The crew was all spread out as they trekked across the land ferrying cargo back to the ship. The first mate arrived back at Trinity with yet another load as Sidney and the new companion were heading toward the shuttle. Roger dropped off his crate and picked up one of Sofia's boxes that was left behind. He followed and caught up to the pair by the shuttle.
"Tristram should be here with the last of the cargo shortly." Roger reported before turning to Sofia. "You must be our new passenger. I'm Roger, first mate." It wasn't surprising to find someone trying to get off of Athens on the first ship available. So someone dressed like her, apparently a woman of means, buying passage on a ship like the Trinity was not unexpected.

"Almost... There..." Tristram grunted as he carried the last bit of cargo to the Trinity. He wasn't unaccustomed to manual labor, but he didn't have a build like Roger or Sid. Where they could lift these crates with ease, he had a little more difficulty. Panting, he finally reached the ship and set his load down in the cargo hold. He wiped his forehead with the back of his hand and took a seat on the crate. "Time for you to return the favor."He could hear voices coming from above him. He lifted his head and saw Roger and Sid speaking with an elegantly dressed woman. "Guess we have a new passenger." With a deep breath, he lifted himself off the cargo and walked just outside of the ship. He fingered the pistol on his hip. Due to the nature of the work he was doing on planet, he had left a good portion of his arsenal in his bunk. It made him feel... naked. Like something was missing. He leaned against the hull of the Firefly and waited for the rest of the crew to return. Outfit

Meilin was not suited to heavy lifting. She could handle hard work, but she simply didn't have the muscle mass to lift heavy crates and carry them back and forth. That is not what she was paid to do anyway. So she'd stayed behind when the others went out. It was honestly a matter of minutes before she realized that she had to do something. She had to be useful. So after a moment of standing in the kitchen she knew what her occupation for the day would be. Meilin was going to make the kitchen spotless. She started with the counters, scrubbing them until she believed they were clean enough to eat off of. Then she scrubbed the outside of the cabinets, the dining table, then started on the floor. When she heard the sounds of people returning, she was honestly surprised. Meilin had gotten into a cleaning groove and hadn't realized the time was passing so quickly. Meilin hopped up from her position on the floor and tossed her sponge back into the soapy bucket. Before she'd started cleaning, she had made sure she'd have something prepared for the heavy lifters. From the icebox she produced a large pitcher of iced tea. With the pitcher in one hand and a stack of plastic cups balanced in the other she hopped down the stairs to the cargo bay. "I've got tea!" She proudly announced. Meilin stopped by Sidney, Roger, and their newest passenger. "Want some? It's papaya." Weren't any of the others back yet? She looked outside and spotted Tristram leaning against the hull. "Tris!" She called out, raising the pitcher once she got his attention. "Come get a drink!"______________________________________________________________ Outfit

YOU AND I WALK A
FRAGILE LINE {I have know it all this time} The dark haired beauty smiled as another voice had her turning her head. He was obviously the second mate. "Hello, Rodger. I'm Sofia. Captain Sidney is helping me get off this planet, and i'm helping him as becoming Trinity's ticket to at least a quarter of the planets out there." she breathed carefully. Something about this crew was relaxing to her. But even so, she unconsiously moved her free hand to her hip, where a small gun was hidden. A growl from the cage in her other hand had her chuckling. Her cat. He was reacting to the males around her. She looked down shushing him. "Thank you, for taking me on, I know that not many companions like Firefly's, but I have never seen anything wrong with them." she was willing to play naive for now.
A grunting behind her again had her turning, and she cocked her head to the right just a little. Well, he was not an unattractive man. In fact she'd have to say he was handsome. Something about him. She couldn't describe. She arched an eyebrow and watched him. She glanced at the other two men. "I think I can find the shuttle. My boxes are here, I'll make sure to unpack them. The old man and woman have our gift from us to you. Fresh food. They grew it here." she said motioning to the man and woman coming towards them with a few mid sized boxes. She smiled at them. She waved a little, and smiled, as she sat the cage down. The growl went a little higher. He was angry at something. She continued to watch the new man.
"I'm Sofia, you?" she asked, forcing herself to be sociable. Again touching her hip. Something to calm her down. She was good at masking her panic, but still, she needed to get into her shuttle before she completely freaked out. She turned towards the woman, and smiled a little. She liked her. "Hello. I'm Sofia. I hope the fresh food will be useful to you." she was obviously a cook.

A companion? Sidney hadn't mentioned that she was anything more than a regular passenger. Now that he knew, it wasn't all too hard to believe. The elegant attire, the way she carried herself... but the location was still odd. Why would a registered companion be out on Athens of all places, in the middle of nowhere on Athens, and without a ship already waiting for a return flight. Roger was startled from his brief thoughts by the sudden growl coming from the cage. That was certainly no regular house cat; it sounded more like something he had to fend off back in the jungles of Greenleaf. The size of the cage and the demeanor of Sofia ensured that at least it wasn't too big and that it was domesticated. It would certainly be interesting to see the animal out in the open though.
Roger put down the box he had carried up once the companion had politely dismissed them. She had things to do and wanted to get settled in. As much as they all might like to meet the new passenger for whatever reasons, she needed some level of privacy. Introductions were done. Further conversation could follow when she was ready.
"Thanks, Meilin." Roger said as he took a cup from the cook and then made his way down the stairs back to the cargo and the approaching elderly couple. It was... strange to say the least. What were they? Her parents? Just some random people? Odd. Their gift didn't seem to be any threat though so Roger accepted it and handed it over to Meilin as her field of expertise.

Kalli had been in the engine room while everyone else was working on getting the supplies loaded on the ship. The Firefly drive's rotation bearings had been damaged and needed replacing. luckly that still had plenty of parts to keep everything working. She was closing in on finishing it as the crew was starting to re assembe back on it the ship but she had a few parts in the cargo bay to pick up the last parts she needed.
She was quiet the mess, the parts she was working with were more greese then metal it seemed so she had a good layer all over her. When she walked in the cargo bay she noticed the crew was acompanied by someone new, a woman. "Oh hi there, I'm Kalli Ann Bernett but you can call me Kalli or Ann if ya like." She said as she walked over toward the lady, she reached out her hand to offer up a hand shake then though better of it with all the greese on it and just gave the lady a friendly wave.

SIdney listened as everyone began to file in and make their greetings to the new companion. It seemed everyone couldn't contol being interested in the companion. THat was tipical really for out world folks like this crew. "Don't you all have work you should be doing" Of course at this point most if not all the work had really been done and they would simply be in their way to Osiris to drop of the smuggled goods.
Now if he could keep the crew from overwhelming the new companion she would be exactly what she said she was a ticket for them to gain access to so many more opertunities along the way. Not to mention much less alliance cruisers looking over their shoulder with her on her. "Were glad you decided to give this firefly a change, you won't be disapointed."

YOU AND I WALK A
FRAGILE LINE {I have know it all this time} Sofia watched the crew. They were comfortable together. Interesting. She breathed carefully, and looked around. Rodger walked off to deal with the elderly couple. She waved to them, and then turned back to Sidney. "Well I've heard a few good stories about Firefly's. I expect your's is as good as the one's i've heard about." she said with a cheeky smile. With that she crouched, picked up the cat carrier again, and walked past him, but not before a girl covered in grease stopped her.
"Hello Kalli, Sofia, though you can call me Sofi." she would have taken the girl's hand but she took it away. So she waved back. She looked around, with a quick nod. "Your ships a beautiful one." she said to the mechanic. In the end, the captain might own the ship, but it was the mechanic who knew her in and out, and could hear her tell stories. At least that she knew off. Ariel was a good place to grow up to learn at least a little, and she hadn't always been a companion. She'd been chosen into it. She remembered Richard and his ability with anything mechanical or electrical. So she assumed the girl was the same. A bit niave maybe, but still. "Now if you excuse me." she smiled at the girl and slipped into the shuttle.
"What do you think my love? Good enough for us? And the crew doesn't seem that bad." she set the cat down and looked around. It looked like a bare shuttle. Nothing special, but she had an idea how to make it prettier, plus she had done this on the way there. Having a... complication with the captain of the last ship had not been fun, but that was in the past. She stopped and looked around, heading for the controls. This was going to be a rather nice place to relax, and take costumers.

"Tris! Come get a drink"
Tristram brushed a stray lock of hair out of his face as he turned to see Meilin standing with the others, offering what looked like iced tea. He acknowledged the offer, raising a finger to indicate he was going to stay out a little longer. Once they took off, it would be a while before he got to enjoy any fresh air. Might as well take advantage of it while he could. He heard Kalli join the conversation in the cargo bay. 'Looks like our guest is getting quite the welcome.'
The sun was just beginning to kiss the horizon, setting the atmo ablaze with rich, vibrant colors. He closed his eyes as a breeze blew through his hair. He enjoyed moments like this. He stood for a few more minutes, then walked inside. The passenger had gone into the shuttle, but the others were still standing around. He took the proffered cup of tea and sipped. 'Not bad.' "Well she sounded nice." He wiped a bead of sweat that threatened to run into his eye. "I'd have been up to meet her myself, but I was caught up in the sunset." He shifted his gaze to Kalli and, with a grin and a wink, added, "It was quite beautiful.

Kalli was all smiles at the thought of this being her ship. In a way it sort of was now that Art was gone. She kept this thing running and put love in to keeping her flying. Trinity was like a child to her just as the Orlando was before, this time though things were different she had grown really attached to the ship and she had already been with her for quiet some time. She wasn't going anywhere and with out Kalli the Trinity wasn't either.
When Tris began to talk and he smile crew. It had only been a few days since he had come on board but he always said nice things to her. Though it seemed sometimes he kept his distance. She walke down the stairs toward the cargo bay door. "Did I miss it all?" she asked him as she walked closer to him. Lucky for her the sun hadn't set all the way yet, but was very close. "You can't hog it all to yourself you know." SHe said to him jokingly.

Tristram's grin grew wider as Kalli neared him. 'She's actually going with this! Don't screw it up now!' Taking a look over his shoulder at the sunset, he let out a sigh. "I'd say it has a good five minutes or so left." He turned to go back down to the hatch.
"You can't hog it all to yourself you know."
He turned around and looked the girl right in the eyes. He smiled as he extended a hand. "I wouldn't dream of it.
