Tari sighed, she had been nearly useless for much too long and it was starting to wear on the thief. Though she had become more sociable with everyone since her chat with Sidney. With the help of Sakura she had began some physical therapy. That was still the only time she could take off her sling though. Her shoulder was still very tender and painful. Tari had taken to carrying a small squishy ball around with her, at the doc's approval. She kept it in the hand of her injured arm, squeezing it at random intervals. Just another way of therapy, she couldn't lift weights or anything so this very slight exercise would have to do. From her room she heard Meilin call out loudly, folks must be back with the goods for their job. Tari decided to make an appearance, she'd left Sidney to fend for himself with the woman he was supposed to meet. After giving him a pep-talk and some direction of his words she felt at least a little confident in him. At least he should do the initial greeting well enough not to scare the woman away. She paused a little out of the way, grinning as she heard the Captain's words about work that everyone should be doing. "Not all of us are that useful yet Captain, but if you give me a few more months..' Tari shot him a knowing wink and grin. 'I should be back one hundred percent to do my job." He knew her job, though she still wasn't sure how often he would need her particular expertise in things. Tari nodded with her grin at the others as a greeting, stopping when she caught the new woman's eyes. "Tari ma'am, it's good to see you with us on board." It wasn't much of an introduction, but the thief was keeping her distance, not wanting to join in the over-crowding of the small area. Raising a curious brow at the exchange between Tristram and Kalli. Boy did he not know the bad direction he was going and she was just leading him blindly. Tari wondered if Kalli even realized how over-protective Sid was of her. ---------------- Outfit

Fresh food? Meilin's eyes widened excitedly. "That's wonderful!" Perhaps she was too easy to please, but this new woman definitely had Meilin's seal of approval. She set the tea and cups down on a nearby crate to inspect the boxes that were brought on board. Fruits and vegetables. Meilin wanted to dance she was so excited. Honestly, she didn't even notice the rest of the conversation. Even the growling from Sofia's bags was lost on her as she looked through the boxes.
She called out a quick "Thank you!" to the woman as she left, then picked up one of the boxes. "And I'll be in the kitchen."

With the goods handed off and then carried off by Meilin, Roger turned back to the cargo bay. Sofia had departed into her shuttle so that was also cleared up. Now it seemed the appropriate focus of the first mate's attention was Tristram and Kalli, just outside the ship. Maybe there hadn't been enough subtle hints that the captain had declared her off limits because it seemed that their interaction had clearly crossed the line from friendly to flirtatious. Roger looked up from the cargo floor to Sidney, still on the catwalks, to check if he was seeing it as well.
Roger thought about breaking it up by calling Tris in to better secure the cargo but decided against it. The captain would break it up if he wanted to or would order Roger to break it up for him. So instead of direct intervention Roger went about the task of organizing and preparing the goods for transport. At least that way he was close enough to somewhat chaperone the two young adults outside.

Sidney focus was definitely on that of Kalli and Tris as they made their way out to look at the sunset. His attention of course was drawn away by Tari as she began to speak to him "Don't you worry Tari, we can handle the heavy lifting for now. You just make sure you are getting all healed up so you are ready when we need you. For now just enjoy being up here where you can watch everyone else work." He said with a bit of a laugh.
He had grown to like Tari over their time on the ship. Sure she was trouble sometimes and she seemed to like to draw attention to herself sometimes. He could tell she was finally starting to settle in to the ship like it was home though. After a moment though Sidney's attention drifted back to the cargo bay. His eyes narrowed a bit while watching Tris and Kalli.
Sidney made his way down from the cat walk looking back up to Tari "lets see if these little lessons on talking have help." He said back up to her as he walked outside with the two youngsters.
He walked up behind them and tossed an arm over each of their shoulders. "Kalli I don't see an engine out here to be working on, and Tris, I am sure Roger can find something for you to be doing." Look at that not a bit of yelling and he was only marginally offensive, this stuff was really working for him. With that he turned and walked back in side. He knew Kalli would have words with him about it at some point. He had become a little more protective since everything went down and she was surely getting to a point she would have to stop him.

Tristram let out an embarrassed chuckle when the captain addressed Kalli and himself. "You got it, cap." As Sidney walked away, he gave Kalli a sheepish grin. "Rain check for next time we're planet side? Whadaya say?" He hoped she'd take him up on it. It had been a while since he'd actually spent any time one on one with someone. It got lonely sometimes. Being a new hire didn't help, either.
