The mountains of St. Albans; August 18th 2522 (0825 Local time)
The Trinity had docked at St. Albans to refuel and pick up some supplies. Kalli and James went out in the shuttle to pick up supplies. Sidney had taken the other shuttle a few days before with James' sister Annabelle to Higgins' Moon to look for additional work. That left Dani and Art to attend to the Trinity and fueling it up along with the repairs they wanted to get done.
Kalli was fine with going with the captain to get the supplies she hadn't been to St. Albans before and though there wasn't much on the planet to see she wanted to see it all. "So, um.. James you ever been to St. Albans before" She was still getting to know the captain. Her and Sid had only joined the crew of the ship a little under a month prior.
James seemed like a nice guy but she was having trouble feeling to comfortable around the man. He was kind of intimidating like Sid was at the beginning. "How long have you known Sid?" She was digging for something to talk about. As she sat there and tried to think of something else to say a siren started to sound and a light began to flash on the panel in front of James flying the ship. Something was wrong and the ship began to lose altitude. She didn't say anything just looked at the controls to see what was going wrong. The fuel lines weren't pumping, she stood up and ran to the back of the ship trying to pull panels off so she could try and fix the line.
(OOC:When you write a reply have it crash and then on the following post I will skip ahead a few hours to when she wakes up after the crash.)

The Captain was glad to be rid of his sister for a couple of days. Although he loved her she annoyed the hell out of him. He really did pity poor Sid. The man had no clue what he was in store for. A few days with Belle was enough to tip any man over the edge. They had docked at St. Albans to gather some supplies. James would normally take Art with him but he wasn't entirely comfortable leaving Kalli and Dani in charge of the ship. So he decided to take Kalli with him so she could earn her passage on the ship so to speak. She was a nice friendly girl Kalli. Pretty too. They were halfway there when she finally broke the silence "Not for a long time" he told her. The last time he had been to St. Albans was probably during the war. It wasn't really a place that harboured good memories for James. Before he could answer her next question all the warning lights began sounding. "What the " he exclaimed as the shuttle plummeted down towards the ground "Hang on" he shouted to Kalli as he braced himself for impact. The ship crash landed into the deep snow and James smashed his head on the navigation board. Knocking him unconscious.

The mountains of St. Albans; August 18th 2522 (1150 Local time)
Kalli had tried in vain to get the ship's fuel lines working again before the ship crashed. WHen it impacted the snow it had thrown her from the rear of the shuttle crashing in to the wall juse behind James seat. It had knocked her cold and left her out for several hours. The snow blocked the hatch to the shuttle and was about half way up the sides of the shuttle. The front window itself was smashed open with a whole the size of a watermelon in it. Not big enough to get out through unless they broke it out more but plenty big enough for the blistering chill of St. Albans.
Kalli began to wake up sore a one could be and still be alive. Her vision was blurred from the blow to her head from the crash. She tried to stand but stummbled not having gotten her footing yet. The fact that the shuttle leaned to the side didn't help one get a good footing either.
Instead she crawled her way back up to the front of the ship. James was still in the cockpit unconscious like she was just moments before. "Cap'n, Cap'n...." She called to him. SHe reached over and shook his soulder. "James wake up. you alright?" She could feel the chill coming in through the window. lockly it was still day time so the tempature hadn't dropped to extreme lows yet. SHe shook him a bit more finally getting a bit of a responce out of him. "Oh thank god your alive." She said to him and she began to look at his head. SHe wasn't a doctor but there didn't seem to be any real bleeding from his head that is a good sign. She hadn't even looked at herself to see if she was alright yet.

He could barely hear Kalli calling him. His ears had popped during the crash eventually after she called him a couple more times his hearing returned to normal. "Are you okay?" he was immediately concerned for her welfare. He looked around him there was a hole in the front of the shuttle letting the cold in and the hatch was blocked up with snow. Chances were they would freeze to death. Hopefully the emergency supplies in the shuttle had been stocked up by Art. "It's not looking good" he said speaking to himself but her at the same time. He had a banging headache not surprisingly as the shuttle had just crashed. They were lucky to be alive.

Kalli wiped her face and ran her fingers through her hair, no blood, thats always a good sign. SHe of course was so sore she didn't notice that her back had slide across something sharp causing a long but not deep gash across her back. She would feel the cool breeze flowing through the hole in her shirts soon though once she wasn't quiet as frantic. "Yeah, I think I'm fine. I mean other then us being stuck in the snow." She pulled herslef up and in to the passanger seat of the shuttle. James was right, it wasn't looking good but she knew exactly what to do. They needed to get ahold of the Trinity and let them know what happened, as soon as they were done refueling they would be able to head out and get them. That couldn't be but a few more hours really, and a good thing too. Tonight the tempatures would brop well below zero and they would be in for a cold night then. Kalli clicked around on the control panel there was still power but it seems as though it was fluctuating on and off. She attemtped to start up the cortex but go no responce. "James the Cortex isn't working. How are we going to get a message out." Once she had herself completely composed again she would have to go see if she could get the power systems working right. --------------- Outfit

James had no idea what to do right now. Well he did but he had too much of a headache which had been brought on by the impact of the crash. "We will figure something out" James told her reassuringly. He took her hand and went out back into the more spacious area of the shuttle. There was a crate over the back with emergency supplies and a first aid kit. He saw her back "Your hurt" he told her the concern in his voice was evident. Grabbing the med kit from the emergency supplies he was glad to see there was some stuff they could use. Like a blanket and amongst other things a flare gun. James pulled out a sealant gun that would seal the wound but hurt a hello of a lot "Now this is gonna hurt" he told her before running the gun along the wound. It was then that he took off his coat and gave it to her. She was his priority and he was gonna make sure they got out of this mess.

Kalli was glad that James was trying to comfort her by telling her they would figure something out, though there was a part of her that really didn't believe it. If they couldn't get the systems back on line it would be one heel of a task for someone to find them. The Trinity wouldn't even know they were missing for several more hours. It was a long trip from where they had started to where they were getting supplies. That ment the chill would be getting alot worse by then.
When they went in to the back of the shuttle and James noticed her back, and was swift to find a way to fix it. As he pressed the sealant gun against her back she winced in pain. She had never really been injured before. This would most definatly leave a scar.
James had also found some basic survival gear for time. "Thank you James.. for being calm about this all. I'm not sure I could stay calm myself without it." She said as he handed her his jacket. She felt bad taking it, she hadn't worn the right cloths for this. They were supposed to land at a facility that would allow them inside docking. She hadn't thought she would have to worry about the tempature.
She looked at the fuel line that had issues and then the power systems. The fuel line was an easy fix, but the power system. That was going to take some work. Several parts were broken that they wouldn't have in the repair kit, but Kalli had an idea. She could strip parts from other systems to get the power on line. It would leave the ship unflyable but it might be able to get power running again. "James I think I can get something going. She's not going to fly again without getting part but I might be able to get power going again." What she didn't know yet was that the communications systems were damaged as well.

James had underestimated Kalli. The young girl was one tough cookie. Sid had taught her well it seemed. She barely flinched when he used the gun to heal the wound on her back and then she was right back at work trying to fix the shuttle. "Don't mention it" he said with a reassuring smile, the Captain was used to being the one that kept a level head and remained calm. "Do whatever you think will get us out of this mess" he told her and was quite thankful to have such a skilled mechanic onboard.

Kalli quickly went to work pulling panels from the way and from the wall, the engine and power source. She slide the emergancy tool kit over next to it all. She layed down on the ground and pulled herself under it. She pulled a flash from the kit and began to look around. The thing was a mess it seems the power system blow pretty bad when they crashed. THis was going to take some time to repair.
-------------------------------------- The mountains of St. Albans; August 18th 2522 (1315 Local time) --------------------------------------
After an hour and a half of looking at things and getting nearly no where Kalli had pulled much of the systems apart in an effort to try to find what was left working. She had been laying down under the engine for a while now with James down there with her handing her the tools she needed.
She sighed as she found the power cupling had fried and there wasn't a spare on it. Luckily these shuttles had two others on the engine the problem to that was they would have to get outside. That ment they would need to bust out the window a bit more. "Were not getting anywhere unless we get out side. I need parts the get this working."
She stood up and walked to the hatch giving it a try to open it. Due to the snow it was lodge in place though and she wouldn't be able to get out there. "we need to get to get through this window." She wasn't sure how to brake it out the rest of the way though. She did have some tool but she didn't want to break it to much, not to mention it was thick glass able to withstand entering and leaving atmo. She bundled up the jacket James had given her and was ready to go once they got the window opened up a little more.

It had been about two hours since they crashed and James and Kalli were working to get the shuttle semi-operational again so they could contact Trinity. They seemed to be getting somewhere but James ultimately knew one of them was going to have to brave the conditions and go outside.
It would have to be Kalli as she was small enough to get through without making the hole to big. James was out of ideas as to how they could make the hole bigger though "What you thinking?" James asked her as she took his coat off. Although they had been keeping fairly active to get the shuttle up and running the freezing conditions were working against them so they weren't generating much body heat.

Kalli went over and sized up the hole. With the jacket now off she would almost fit through it though it was still a bit tight for her to fit. When James asked her what she thought, in stead of answering she just reacted taking a chance at getting the whole a bit bigger. She grabbed one of the tools, a long pry bar and slide it through the whole prying from side to side causing the window to crack a bit more the shards falling.
It was now barely big enough for her to fit through. "How's that!" She exclaimed proudly as she started to climb up to go out through the window. She still wouldn't fit with the jacket on but he could hand it to her once she was out there. She pulled her outer shirt off and folded it over the bottom side of the hole a few time so it would protect her from the glass. She crawled out the window and slide down in the snow to her waist, her other shirt tumbling down in to the snow with her.
She tried for a minute to find it with no success. The white snow of St. Albans had swallowed it up. "James Toss me the Jacket." She waited as he through the jacket out and quickly put it back on. She had only been other there for a minute and the cold was already getting to her, she felt like ice.
She walked around to the back of the ship and went to work stripping parts from the ship as she dug down in to find what she was looking for.
Half an hour passed with her and James talking back and forth while she brought parts back from the back of the ship and handed them in to to James. She did her best to never let on to him how cold she was. Finally it came time for crawl back in to the ship and get to work in there.
-------------------------------------- The mountains of St. Albans; August 18th 2522 (2100 Local time) --------------------------------------
Time raced on as they tried to get something going. Finally she had the power systems back on but even that wasn't enough as soon as the power was back on they found the communications wasn't working either. They had nearly run out of options. What she was able to do though was use the navigation's systems and hook them to the communications relay. It didn't allow them to send out a message to anyone directly but it would act as a beacon. it sent out a signal to anyone looking for it that told them where they were.
After that it was time to wait. The larger hole in the window had allowed for snow to start coming in the window so Kalli had taken James Jacket and used some repair tape to tape it sealed around the whole, an idea James had come up with, probably would by them the time they needed to make it through the cold night. It was late and the sun had set. They were going to be stuck here for a while, however long it took someone on the Trinity to figure out the signal.
Kalli was sitting down on the floor next to the engine her face with a few grease stains on it. She was tired and cold, and well under dressed for the weather. "Think they'll find us James. I mean we are in the middle of no where and they will be looking for a needle in a hay stack after all." She was still very concerned but knowing that they had managed to get some sort of signl out did help relax her, not to mention James was helpful for that too. He seemed to stay calm in nearly every situation. He made her feel safe and like there was hope that they would get out.
"Well I think we have some free time on our hand" She patter her hand on the ground next to her suggesting he come sit with her. "You said it's been a long time since you have been here, was that back in the war?" She figured she would ask him some questions, get to know him, since they were stuck here thay might as well make it useful time.

The next few hours passed quite quickly considering their situation. He had to admit he was slightly worried when Kalli went outside but she came back in one piece. The conditions were freezing. Finally they were sat by the engine of the Shuttle half to keep warm and half because they were so shattered from the work.
Kalli's question was one he didn't know the answer to but you had to keep faith. James thought the chances were slim to none but wanted to keep her calm "Of course they will find us" he told her tenderly stroking her back. James got up and took a blanket and placed it over Kalli.
James was standing up until Kalli told him basically told him to come sat next to her. "Yeah it was during the war" James told her, the war was a bit of a sore subject for James but on St. Albans he had a more memorable experience "I was here with Sid actually" he told her with a smile as he reminisced "Similar to us me and Sid were shot down and it took us a week to find our unit again" he laughed remembering some of the stuff they got up to.

Kalli knew as well as James that there odds were not to good. Even with all their efforts things didn't look to good. Odd were they would freeze to death out here long before they were ever found, if they ever would be found. Even his attempts to be positive she saw through but it was nice that he was willing to do that for her. To be honest this time with him so far has been the most they have gotten to really work togehter and he seemed really sweet.
SHe was happy when he finally took a seat next to her on the floor. Partially because it made her feel a bit safer but also to help keep them both warm. Kalli slide the blanket over his legs as well. When he spoke of the war she could tell it wasn't quiet something he wanted to talk about. It must have been a hard subject for him, though she hadn't taken part in the war she had done some during the uprising. She did understand at least to some extent. "Well Sid was lucky to have you there to keep him alive too."
She leaned over resting her head on his shoulder. "Even with all this I am glad I joined up with the Trinity. She's a great ship and I wouldn't get to have seen all the places I have if I hadn't." It hadn't been that many places even between the Orlando and here on the Trinity, but it was at least something. Things she never would have done had she been home. THough there was alot more she wished she had done in her life before she died. "I wish I had joined you long ago. I have so many Things I will do when we out of here you know" She drifted over to lean against him a bit more her back and head now resting on his chest. SHe tipped her head to the side and looked up at him. "What about you, is there anything you still haven't had the chance to do in your life?"

James didn't know what overcome him as Kalli spoke to him he suddenly felt compelled to kiss her but held off. It was only when she asked him if there was a something he hadn't had the chance to do in life that he leaned in and kissed her. He didn't want to pull away either so he waited for her too. The fact of the matter was James had fought in a war, owned a ship, visited a lot of places. But the one thing he truly craved was a family. To settle down with the women he loved and raise their children. That was what he had wanted for a long time now.

Kalli was a little overwhelmed when James kissed her. She hadn't expected it, wasn't sure how to react to it actually. Relationship or imtimacy weren't something she had much experiance with. Her eyes widened as James sustined the kiss, but then she decided she didn't mind at all. She rather enjoyed it actually. She had only kiss two other people prior to this, Jamie being one of those and that was short and sweet. The other being Alex her ex-boyfriend from back on Beaumonde, she had loved him but that ended poorly.
Insead of pulling away she pushed in to the kiss reaching her arm up and his head. She had never been one to be forward about this kind of thing, but what the hell they were going to die out here it seemed and she had never done more then kiss someone before. She leaned her weight back against him pushing him back against the engine. She wrapped her other hand around him and pulled herself in closer to him.
