Dru was upset, she didn't appreciate being talked down to by anyone. Least of all some kid who called himself a captain. She had held herself off from commenting or taking any action against him for it. Dru stayed in her room for a little while. Long enough for the others to finish dinner and get out. While she waited she loaded her pistols with the rubber bullet clips, making sure to take extras and grabbed a dozen sheets of the target posters.
She made a stop in the cargo bay to set down the sheets and extra clips. Then Dru went to retrieve the rest of her guns from the common area and put them back into her room.
Once back into the cargo bay she looked around for an empty crate, happy to find a large one. It'd help with any ricochets from the rubber bullets. Not to mention make it easy to clean up after herself. She sat the crate against the bay doors and pinned one of the target posters inside it. Dru began popping off some rounds, they made a muffled sound. Not near as loud as normal bullets. She was already starting to feel a little better.

The first sounds of the bullets Jordan became startled and sat up in her hammock. Hopping out it she took off to the cargo bay. What else could have gone wrong with the ship already? Stopping at the top of the steps she looked down at Dru.
"Oh! I'm sorry, thought.. I'm not sure what I thought..." She took a few more steps down to see what she was shooting with.

Dru hadn't heard Jordan come into the area, she had been too focused on the target. Hearing the woman's voice she turned, making sure not to point the gun at her. She grinned as the mechanic took a few steps closer. Curious that one. Which was both good and bad, depending on the situation. Good in this particular one. She seemed interested in Dru's weapons and she would be more than happy to help her learn. A woman should be able to protect herself.
She motioned for Jordan to come closer, pulling out her second pistol from her waist holster she was now wearing. Dru held it out in her direction in the same manner as she had before. Except this time it was loaded. "Come give it a try." Dru gave her a slight smile in attempt to make her feel more comfortable with the situation.

Jordan walked slowly towards her. When she became close enough she took the gun from Dru, it was a little heavier then before, but she figured it had something to do with the clip not full of ammo. Holding the gun actually in the right manner, no small task, it took her a moment to figure it out.
Then, even though her hands trembled, she fired, though like some people, before she pulled the trigger her eyes closed. When Jordan did open them, she was more then pleased that she actually managed to hit inside of the box. Perhaps not on the paper, but in the box. 'Well, it's better than missing the box completely.' she thought to herself then sheepishly looked over to Dru.
"Pretty bad, huh."

Dru smiled as she watched Jordan make an attempt to fire the gun, not horrible for what might be her first time ever. Her time in the Alliance military had taught her how to actually be a teacher. "First time ever?" She asked in response to the mechanic's comment.
Once her thoughts were confirmed Dru moved closer to Jordan, slowly, "Here let me help you." She spoke softly as she took hold of Jordan's hand that held the gun, moving to stand sort of behind her. Helping her stead her hands while it was in her grasp, "Don't be afraid of the gun, it's all just metal and such doing what you want it to do. Nothing more."
Jordan showed promise, in Drusilla's opinion. For her that's all that mattered. "Before you shoot take a deep breath in, and out. Once you let it out, pull the trigger...and keep your eyes open. Both of them." She grinned at the last bit, she had no idea why some people closed their eyes when they fired a gun. Dru kept a hold on Jordan's hand to help her stay steady, while she waited for her to try again.

Jordan listened then became tense as Dru stepped behind her. Taking Dru's lead she listened, and took to memory everything the woman said.
Slowly, Jordan took a deep breath in and then let it out, but she had to work up the courage to pull the trigger. The second breath went in and on the way out she pulled the trigger. Though her eyes remained, mostly, open the sound of the gun made her jump.
"It takes some gettin' use to..." She said and looked over her shoulder at Dru and smiled shyly.

"Now, I wish she would let me get that close to her." Said Lars as he walked in behind the two women in the cargo bay. His first thought was that something bad was happening, as Dru didn't normally get close to people without hurting them. The gunshots were not helping lighten his suspicions. As he got a better look, he could hardly believe what he saw. "Can it be," He said in mock horror, "That the fearsome Dru is allowing someone to touch her, without drugs or chains?" He walked down the stairs with a look of deep thought on his face. "Perhaps she is going crazy. Jordan, you aren't a psychic or a magician are you?" He smiled and sat on the bottom step. "You know, you shouldn't look at me like that, you might get your eye's stuck."

Dru was glad that Jordan seemed to be a good listener. "Practice is all, can't be perfect your first round of shooting. I got plenty of these bullets so feel free to use whatever you like. I'm always up for some target practice." She smiled back at her.
Before they could continue Lars voice came from behind them. Dru moved a couple steps away from Jordan, crossing her arms across her chest as he spoke. "Sorry Lars you aren't as pretty as she is, but no need to be all jealous about it." She rolled her eyes as he continued to rattle on teasing her.
The kid didn't know anything about her, he probably had a thing for the mechanic but wasn't brave enough to make a move. Yeah she could retort with some off-hand comment regarding that, but Dru didn't want to put Jordan in the middle of it. "You know you shouldn't tempt a woman with a gun Lars. Besides just because you don't have a chance doesn't mean you need to be mocking me."
Dru was trying very hard to not give in to her temper. It was working, for now.

Jordan lowered her gun and sighed at the both of them. Then she returned to looking down the way at the target. With Lars in the room she felt more nervous than before. She sighed at herself a second time and tried to focus. Taking in a deep breath she let it out, and tried for the first time to fire two shots in a row, it didn't end well for her aiming. The first shot hit the paper, the second, somewhere in the crate. However, she was excited just to get close to the paper without Dru's assistance.
She looked a little closer at the sheet, she saw that Dru has a nice grouping on the human shaped figure, her one shot with Dru winged an arm and the other, the top right corner of the paper. However, it was a start she was proud of.
"I think I might end up buying some of these, I might need more practice then you have bullets." She said looking up to Dru and smiled. She tried not to listen to her Captain, but bring this close to her new friend she suspected that it was anger she was seeing forming behind her eyes.
"One more day of flight Cap'n?" She asked as she turned to Lars.

"That looks to be the case," Said Lars, "The engine trouble didn't slow us down too much, so we should hit St. Albans late tomorrow." Lars paused, and he sighed, "It is going to be an interesting encounter, that is for sure." Turning back to Dru, he said, "I don't know what you mean about not being pretty, I have always found myself ruggedly handsome." He smiled. "What do you think Jordan?"

Jordan smiled and thought over her answer for a second before finally coming up with one she liked. "Rugged I can see, Cap'n you do have a hand print on your coat." She offered up another smile and looked down at the gun in her hands. She didn't feel quite like herself, she was holding something that could actually do harm to some folk, and deep down, she was starting to enjoy it.

Lars laughed and smiled at Jordan. He didn't really worry about the fact that Dru hadn't said much, that was her way it seemed. Standing up, he looked at the two of them, and said, "Big day tomorrow Girls, don't stay up too late." He gave them one last smile and headed up the stairs, out of the Cargo bay.

When Jordan sighed a second time Dru glanced over at her, a grin crossing her lips as the mechanic was going to try and shoot again. This time on her own. She turned direction more to face Jordan and the target, waving off the girl's comment, "I've got plenty of the sheets, those are cheap. An' the bullets are mostly reusable. It's the real bullets that get costly."
Lars went on about how Dru had said he wasn't as pretty and all, she rolled her eyes at him when he looked to Jordan for comfort. He wouldn't see it but the mechanic would. Dru smiled at her reply to him as well.
At Lars' departure she simply raised a hand in wave, not saying anything. "Well I guess that means our play time is over, as much fun as it might be to keep Lars awake though. You're welcome to try some more tomorrow of course, if you can make time in between fixing things that is."

Jordan smiled a little and offered the gun back to her. "I wouldn't feel comfortable without you here." Jordan waited until Dru took her gun back then she slid her hands into her back pockets. "But thank you for showing me how those things work." She was still nervous about even envisioning using it on a creature. However, she was more comfortable with the idea of them. The idea that people around her would actually be using them.

Dru walked back closer to Jordan and took hold of the gun, "It's not as though I have anything to do on the ship." The gun was returned to the holster that sat on her hips. She smiled at the mechanic, "You're welcome Jordan. Goodnight." With a slight nod she moved over toward the crate that housed the target sheet.
It was time to clean up, taking down the sheet, picking up all of the rubber bullets. She shoved them in her pocket so that they could be put back into a clip once back to her room.
Tomorrow was another day, hopefully less anger inducing. Then they would reach St. Albans too soon, time for work then. Not to mention get paid.
