"Where is that mechanic of mine?" Grumbled Lars, "One minute she wont leave me alone, and the next she disappears." He walked down the stairs, into the cargo bay, and was making his way to the engine room when someone started pounding on the outside of his ship. He stopped for a minute, debating whether or not he should just ignore them. Probably it was some low level port authority coming to tell him his permit was about to expire. Whoever it was had started shouting, something about open up. Sighing, he turned around and walked over to the door controls. "I'm coming, I'm coming," He shouted as the door came down, "What makes you think it's ok for you to come and beat my ship to pieces? Honestly some peop..." He stopped dead. "Well," he said, "I didn't expect to see you here." He held out a hand to the woman standing in front of him. "How are you Dru?"

Dru backed up enough for the bay door to open, her smile faltered when it wasn't Krey who had met her call. It was Lars. It'd been a year but she remembered him still, they hadn't become friends but they had been building that trust slowly. It took some time for the mercenary to warm up to folks. "Job brought me here, job's done though. Didn't expect to see the Southern Star here either, but it'll be nice to ride with a friendly ship. If there's room that is." She took his hand and walked herself into the cargo bay of the ship, looking around. The crew was usually fairly lively, she wondered where everyone was. "Been good, finding work and all. The usual." Dru looked back and grinned at Lars, he knew what work she did, they all did. "How about you Lars? Been a long time. Where is everyone, it's so quiet in here. Figured at least Krey would be around." She looked at him waiting for his response as she peeled the jacket off. --------------- Outfit

"Krey is dead." Lars said softly. "You didn't hear?" as he asked, he knew the answer. She had left the ship before the old captain had passed. "He got some degenerative disease, no cure." His voice caught in his throat as he thought about the man who had been so kind to him, and he turned away from her. "He gave me the ship," He said without any real need, "I reckon he'd have given it to you if you had stayed." He paused, then pushed onward, "I guess you are back for a reason? Or were you just passing through and looking to say a quick hello to the old man?" He shook his head to clear it, and turned around to face her again. "Not to imply that you aren't welcome here or anything, Although we were about to head off when you came knocking." He was about to say more when Trace's message over the comm came through. "That would be the pilot wondering why the bay door is open." he said matter of factly. "So, what can I do for you?"

Drusilla dropped her jacket to the ground as Lar's words sunk in. Krey was dead? She was at a loss, that old man had been the closest thing she had to family. Now he was gone, had been gone and she had never known it. No words came to her, she just stood there, the look on her face was vacant. Dru just listened and watched as Lars spoke. The voice over the com broke her daze.
"Well I uh..No, obviously I hadn't heard." She stumbled just a little before gathering herself. Dru regained her emotions, reverting back to her cold and distant self. "As I said a job brought me here. Job's done so I'm looking to get off of Osiris, not really the best place for me to find work. If you've got the room I'll take passage." So Lars was now the captain of the Southern Star? That was unexpected. He was still just a kid. It was sort of no wonder to her as to why none of the other crew had stuck around.

"Captain, if we intend to leave this rock today, i would appreciate it if you would close the doo.." Trace stopped talking as he walked into the cargo bay. There was the captain, and then there was someone else. "Who is she?" His words were rather more blunt than he expected, and so in an attempt to sound more polite he added, "Sir." He looked down from the top of the stairs and decided not to ask anymore questions before he knew what was going on. This was the second time in a fairly short period of time that some new person had come on the ship, and remembering last time he held his tongue. He stood at the top of the stairs, and waited, deciding to keep as much distance between himself and the new passenger as possible.

Dru looked over at the owner of the voice, her eyes narrowed as she stared at him. Her hand instinctively went to her gun, ready to pull it from the holster at the first sign of it's need. "Who am I? Who the hell are you?" Her voice was even and cold. What the hell was going on here. Sure Osiris wasn't the best place in the 'verse to find crew, but could Lars not find anyone who had experience? Drusilla's gaze lingered a few more moments, making sure the man didn't approach her. He stayed on the stairs, good decision, considering the mood she was in now.
She turned her attentions back to Lars, "So everyone left except you I'm guessing? Is it a requirement to not be able to drink to be part of the ship now?" Dru kept her hand on the grip of her gun, keeping the other man in her side-view.

"Cap'n, what's the hold up?" Jordan approached from the engine room and stopped in her tracks as she saw the woman on the cargo bay door. Her eyes were also drawn to the weapon.
"Is there a problem Captain?"

"No there isn't any problem." Lars said, locking eyes with Dru. "Jordan, Trace, this is Dru. She was on the ship with me a while back, and it looks like she is going to be shipping out with us." Lars took a slow step forward towards Dru and spoke in a quiet voice for her alone."There aint no need for killin'." He said, indicating her gun. "Now I have no problem with helping out a friend in need, but if you intend to shoot everyone that looks at you, then maybe it isn't a good idea for you to be here." Stepping back he addressed the other crew members. "There will be plenty of time for introductions later, but now I aim to get out of here. Trace, get up to the cockpit and get us in the air. Jordan, I need you in the engine room to make sure that coil is going to make it. We can talk later, lets move." He now focused again on Dru. "Now, are we going to have an issue?"

Trace didn't need to be told twice. He left the cargo bay as quick as he could, leaving the captain and this new guest to sort out their issues. He made his way to the cockpit.

Dru was feeling uneasy, yet another person she didn't know had come in. A woman this time, but her eyes remained on Lars. She relaxed very little with his words, but she did take her hand off of her gun.
"No, no issues Lars. For now at least." Drusilla took a step back, picking up her jacket and bags. "I'll take one of the passenger rooms." With that she headed off, not letting the conversation continue. She remembered where the quarters were, taking one of the ones that didn't look occupied. Dru tossed her things onto the floor and sat down on the bed.
This was alot to take in, Krey was dead. The true Southern Star was no more. She suddenly regretted leaving the ship a year ago, then she could have at least said her proper goodbyes to the old man. A single tear streamed down her cheek. She was all alone in the 'verse again.

Lars was deep in thought as he watched Dru walk away. He punched the door controls and watched as the door closed. So Dru was back, he thought, and as dry and rough around the edges as he remembered. She had been on the ship with him for a while, and her demeanor didn't seem to have changed one bit. Turning around he made his way to the comm, and spoke to the cockpit. "Trace, we're good to go, whenever you are ready." He made his way to the stairs and began to climb , heading for his office. He had some serious thinking to do, but from the looks of things, not much time to do it. If he knew Dru, she was going to prove to be more of a challenge than either of the others. "Great," he sighed, "just what we needed, more fighting on the ship." He sighed again as he reached the top of the stairs and left the cargo bay. "This was going to be a long trip."
