500 credits to start out with. She thought about it. Maybe. "If I don't give it to you, what'll you do?" she asked, curious now. She wouldn't push into his mind to find out ,though she figured she could. She understood the need for privacy. But she had been hoping for more money up front. "And could you pay 600 credits a month?" she knew that would bairly keep the upkeep on the Raven, but 600 didn't seem half bad, at least to start out with.

"I am not sure yet", Fire answered. He truly still didn't know if he would go on with plan B or not, maybe it was even better than plan A. "Hmm..", Fire said thinking about it. 600 credits would mean at least 2 jobs a month. This was reachable in any normal case, but with this job market and now that he would be flying with a ship he wasn't sure how reachable this would be. He was glad he had had one job in the last two weeks. He bit his lip as he thought it over. "600 Credits is reachable, yes, but only if you let me do my job and won't interfere with it".

She nodded. "As long as you don't bright it to us, it'll be fine. Would you like to see it?" she asked, her face still neutral. She wondered what the hell he was doing for a living, but she didn't press. She doubted she ever would. But she felt that he was more than he looked. A master of his trade either way.

"I know my job and I have never gotten into trouble with it", Fire asured her with a light smile. If she knew what his job was, she might have been less convinced about letting him in. Maybe one day he would tell her, what it was he did, she'd probably discover it herself over time. "Yes of course", he nodded. He got his stuff and let her lead the way.

There had been a little fuss in getting here, but here he finally was.
Long journeys were often rather difficult, and this one had been no different. After what had happened to the town his clinic had been in... Well, it was not something that he could think about. If he did, he would just start thinking off all the people left behind to those... things.
Nobody could say that Dr. Benedict Morley had anything less than the utmost respect for life. But when it came to them... they disgusted him. Whatever they had once been, they could no longer be counted as human.
It had not been easy to find a decent, clean place for his staff and the patients they could save to reside in permanently, but money eased all paths and he had been able to house them somewhere nice. They had begged him to stay, bit he could not. He had done all that he could for the patients and the staff would be able to carry on without him, maybe even set up a new clinic here on Persephone.
But he had seen one too many of his houses of healing violated in the last few years to be so swift to start another. And so here he was. Looking to wander the 'Verse for a time, at least until he had been allowed to heal himself of the scars he carried inside his heart. Perhaps he would be able to start fresh elsewhere, or even return here to see how his old staff were getting on. For now, though, he needed something new. And preferably small.
Limping along on his cane, he eased the backpack he carried on his shoulder awkwardly, the satchel containing his medical kit tangling a little with the pack's straps. He had hoped to find a ship that would take him aboard, but he had so far been unimpressed with the collection in the docks. Hard, violent looking men who would probably have no qualms in shooting anyone. They would probably shoot him as well, in time.
So when he came upon a tangle of people at the bottom of a ship's ramp, he originally did not think to look much closer. He had witnessed one of the men whipping out a gun and shooting at a tin can and had dismissed them as another bunch of gun-happy thugs. But when he overheard the captain's no-nonsense tone towards the more violent members of the crowd, he stopped as he was passing and glanced back to get a better look.
Perhaps she would be more... moral than the other so-called captains that he had seen so far today.
Turning and making his way back, the doctor stopped in front of the lady on the "white" lawn chair. Pushing his neat glasses further up the bridge of his nose, Morley cleared his throat.
"I see that you are taking on crew and passengers... Captain?" Morley asked. He was not a man who presumed much if he could help it. "If you are looking for someone handy with a needle and scalpel, I would like to offer my services, provided that killing things is not your sole source of income."

Occ// Not gonna use coding right now
The blonde woman had gotten everyone sorted out, and looked up as another man walked up, this time with a cane. And she knew, instinctively, that this man was a healer, even before he spoke. She stood up, holding out her hand. "Jadyn Hyde. This is Raven, and yes. We are. We'll be doing a bit more than violence. She is a cargo vessel, and I think I'll be keepin' us as close to cargo haulin' as one can out here." she said, her face calm, not showing anything. For now, this was good enough. Or would have to be. "If you want to go and check out our Med bay, you may. We're ehre a couple more days, so you've got time to stock her up as you need to."

Awkwardly transferring the grip of his cane to his other hand, Morley clasped the offered hand firmly and shook it. "Good to hear", the doctor replied. "I don't mind stitching up those hurt by guns and knives, but I don't fancy the idea of being around weapons twenty four hours a day."
Letting go of the captain's grip, Morley realised that he had yet to introduce himself. "My name is Dr. Morley, by the by", he continued, putting his cane back into his right hand and shuffling up the ship's ramp. "I have enough medical supplies on me at the moment to suffice for a little while, but I'll let you know when we start to run low. Although I will probably need to pop into the market for some last minute purchases. Some things spoil faster than others, you see, and so need to be stocked at the latest possible moment."
