Time for some thrilling heroics

'Ello good people. Hope all are well.

After sending PM's to 4 different people about the same exact thing it was suggested to me that I start a thread so we could chat about getting some RP stuff going.

Specifically, we'd like to RP one Casey Carter (mechanic) and one Annette Carter (pilot) into becoming official crew members on Trinity.

Currently, the status of the Trinity is: has two members. Roger (captain) is off-world, and Tristram (First-mate/guy-who-shoots-stuff) is working security on the core-planet of Ariel.

As it was explained to me, Tristram lives on the Trinity, which is currently sitting in the Ariel City Docks.

Now. We can go either of two ways on this.

Roger suggested that on his way back to Ariel, he can stop by Persephone and pick up a new mechanic, then the rest of the crew on Ariel.

or

We can connect characters through a series of events.

I'm up for either one btw.

If we were to choose the latter, I have some suggestions. Feel free to add/disregard/discuss/ask about any part. We should have consensus on what we want to RP.

If we choose the latter, I was thinking Casey could've been doing some illegal work for some crime-boss at the docks. While repairing a smuggling ship, she hears some noises of distress, and finds Annette tied up and stowed away. Casey instinctively helps her out, but finds herself caught up in everything.

Feeling that he was double-crossed, this crime-boss (we can decide who later) decides to plan to take out both of them.

On the run, they bump into Tristram. Inadvertently, getting him involved as well.

Tristram is a person that works a security detail, having prior knowledge of this crime-lord could act as an incentive to help the girls escape, which would also include having them all flee offworld.

From what I was explained, Tristram seems happy about his current job. However, getting caught up in an adventure might be a subtle way of getting him interested in exploring and bonding with crew people aboard Trinity.

In the chatbox the other day, it was also mentioned that there might be an additional two people joining the crew of the Trinity. However, Lars suggested that we focus and RP the 4 of us (Roger, Tristram, Annette, Casey) so that we can officially tie ourselves into the crew.

Again, all of this is just a giant suggestion of something we can do. If you want to RP something differently, just speak up.

Just going to say a reason for why Annette is tied up. In her rush to find work she unknowingly agreed to pilot a slave ship and after she found out she let every one go. Earning her on verry ticked off mob boss.

In all seriousness though it sounds even better than you presented to me earlier. There's still the issue with me (as Roger) not being there. You're either going to have to wave me and wait for me to arrive or take off and pick me up someplace. The latter choice is a bit of an issue though since you're all joining a crew and taking the ship without the captain's presence or go ahead first.

You've been doing missions with the crew on the Trinity for quite some time right?

I'm sure somewhere down the line, you've bumped into a crime-lord or something like that.

Maybe you personally have a vendetta with a crime-lord from a past experience. This same crime lord, has now gotten into bigger and badder things. When Tristram sends you an emergency wave, you find out the specific person that is trying to hunt down all three of them (Casey, Annette, Tristram).

And as Annette suggested, maybe even slave trade stuff, or something equally highly illegal and looked down upon. Either way, it could work; if the cargo is extra sensitive, you higher someone that can no way be connected back to you, so you can cover your tracks. If this crime-boss had one of his own goons fly the ship, it could've warranted for a ship search if the feds caught the ship en route.

But for a pilot bystander, the ship was not suspected for anything highly illegal, and somehow manages to make it to Ariel.

Out of curiosity, Annette searches said cargo and discovers slaves (or something equally socially unacceptable) and interferes. The boss catches her in the act, and takes away the cargo but locks her up in a stowaway compartment with limited air.

Casey works at the docks and trying to make ends me. She's a poor teenager who takes work when she can get it but yearns for adventure. Working at the docks legally doesn't pay enough, so over time, she begins to participate in the illegal stuff.

Part of what she does could be illegal modding to ships (faster engines, gun attachments) but could also include the designing and making of secret compartments on smuggling ships.

When those ships stop by, they go to her for a routine check up, making sure that everything is stable.

In her standard investigation aboard the crime-boss' ship, she sees nothing out of the ordinary. But before she leaves, she hears some banging and crying. She investigates, finds Annette, they're on the run.

Along the way they bump into Tristram, he gets involved, and he instinctively calls you in for backup. He drops a name of the crime boss, it suddenly becomes personal.

As a group, we either then have to decide to fight back or continue going on the run. Maybe, somehow in the chaos, the thugs track down Tristram and get to the Trinity before Casey, Annette and Tristram do. So, in calling Roger for backup, they got to fight back for the ship and work together.

Working together to fight back can mean utilizing all of our skills. Annette's and Casey's understanding of ships can potentially get the Trinity back from captivity. Working together as a team and using skills can also get the attention of Roger.

Yet again, just throwing out suggestions, trying to piece everyone together. What does everyone think?

I can make that work. Roger has a history as an anti-slaver of sorts to give him connections there. Still, getting Roger to Ariel in time is an issue unless we make it that he's already on his way and arrives in the docks right about when y'all finally make it back to the ship after fighting/sneaking through the city or whatever.


Well, other than our plotting here, we need an Admin to reactivate the Trinity board eventually. We can do planetside RP fine but once we're on the ship we'd have no board to use.

we can RP right up to the point when we're about to leave Ariel and then request the reactivation of the Trinity board to indicate that we have left the planet.

So now that we've planned this whole story thing a bit more, when do you think we should start?

In my experience, some of the better RP stories I've done had been because of frequent posting, it helps keep the story moving along.

If everyone is truly ready, then we should start soon.

You guys sound good to go if no one has any issues with the current plan. One of you Carters should probably start the thread when you're ready. Then you'll bump into Tris and I'll show up later.

Actually, the Rayya is headed for Ariel as we speak so Roger could already be on the planet with the other ship at the time (working their plot line a bit) before departing and running into you guys back at the Trinity. Obligatory "Everything turned out better than expected."

Sorry Lars, there's no need to make boards for the Trinity, they're all safe and sound in the ship storage section. So they'll just need to be moved and description adjusted appropriately unless Roger wants to make changes to the existing ship boards of course.

Also my crime boss jerkface Bruce Tenoch has a habbit of upsetting people quite alot so depending on what you all make as the final decision on said involved crime boss he may fit the bill.

This can also eventually (possibly) bring up some extra drama later if Sian and Rain are going to be joining up with the boat, since Sian is Bruce's daughter -- top secret info of course

Some fair warning on Tristram, he's not the most active RPer. It common for him to not be around for a day or two but he's never gone too long.
