Sian had been on Paquin since the Sojourn had stopped by mid-January, sadly she felt like the crew was already falling apart before they even landed. She didn't really want to be stuck on the planet, but at least Rain was still with her. The two had become friends ever since that evening on the ship when some man had taken over the com systems. That night was much less than fun, it made the companion worry and admittedly a little scared. Very few people knew the things that man had said.
Despite not wanting to be stuck on Paquin Sian was not about to call anyone for help, she and Rain would figure it out. They would find a new ship to fly with, either for just a ride back to Persephone or a place to be crew of. The two women had been making due, they'd gotten a small place together. Having a room-mate cuts the rent in half and that was a plus for both of them. Sian had gotten a job, a real honest to goodness job. It was a mixture of waitressing and singing at a restaurant. The place was nice enough, it's popularity being rather high since the city they were in was a high tourist attraction. What with all the carnivals and fairs that were there year around.
Sian truthfully had been avoiding the topic of her life with Rain, though increasingly she was feeling the friendship with the woman. Friends weren't a common thing in her life, few and far between. Jack was one of her closest friends, though there was hope in her that there was a possibility of much more. She hadn't been able to talk to him for awhile, he'd apparently fallen ill. Had to be taken to Ariel, St. Lucy's hospital, best in the verse. Not to mention specializing in the unknown disease that had been sweeping planets. It wasn't known to be fatal, at least there was that, but the doctors had no way of telling how long the patient would be in the coma-like state until they came out of it. That's what worried Sian the most, so much so that she called in a favor from Macy to go stay with him so he wasn't alone. Macy was the companion friend of hers that she knew from Persephone, whom Sian also contracted herself shortly after her return from Santo. There was nothing sexual there, she just needed someone with her to sleep. There were too many nightmares when she was alone and there was no way she was going to put Jack in the position of asking him to be part of that.
Today was a day free from work, a day to relax. Comfortable and mostly content Sian was doing what she wanted today, which was almost nothing. She hadn't seen Rain since the morning when she left, evening was coming around though.
