It was only a couple hours after the companion had joined the crew, and given the captain the money for her shuttle. She was thursty, and really, just in need of an escape from trying to unpack. She'd done it before, but still, it seemed to take forever, each time. She was good at it thought, and the deep reds, blacks, and other such colors were standard. There were a few other colors, but the room was opulent. Sofia stepped out of her shuttle, and headed for the kitchen, hearing the sounds of others talking, somewhere, but not in the living area or the kitchen.

She slipped in quietly, her feet touching the medal floor lightly as she made her way to the sink, and started her tea. She looked around. It was a... sweet kitchen. Warm, and inviting. She jumped at a noise, but it was nothing. She had to get in control. What had happened, had happened months ago. She was better, but being nearly raped did that to a woman. She swore never to get attached to anyone, except her cat, every again. She was self sufficient. To anyone who came it, she looked like she was daydreaming, while she stood there, waiting for the tea in her little teapot to boil.

Dan had wandered into the kitchen to get a quick snack for him and Chris whilst Skye had gone off to do something interesting. The two brothers had gotten bored rather quickly due to them sorting out all of their tasks given to them by Kara for the day in half the time because of a few rare moments of working together without getting in each other's way. So, after sitting around Chris' and Skye's room for a while, the two of them had gotten hungry so Dan had embarked on a food run.

As the oldest Bruce walked into the kitchen, he saw a woman standing in front of a counter as if she was waiting for something whilst staring into the middle distance. Thinking nothing of it, Dan grabbed a few small food items, biscuits mostly, and started on his way out again when he looked back over to the woman to find her still standing there. Out of a politeness that his parents had taught him at a very young age and had stuck with him for the rest of his life after, he asked, "'Scuse me, ma'am, but do you need some help?"

The woman was jerked out of her memories by a young male voice, just bairly cracking, or just finished, either way, it was still young. She turned her head and looked at him. She managed to hide her jolt of fear, but bairly. She smiled at him. "I am fine, I am just waiting for m-" just than her water went off. She motioned to it. "My water." she reached out and flipped off the heat, and grabbed the pot. She looked him over.

"I'm Sofia, You?" she asked, pooring the water into a rather pretty teapot, which was personal, and never used for the general public, but she felt she needed some comfort, and she glanced at him, a soft smile on her face. "I didn't realize that there were younger people on this boat." she said, trying not to say children.

Dan smiled back at Sofia and replied, "I'm Dan. I would shake your hand, but..." He gestured the food in his own hands and the teapot in hers. "I think we both have our hands a little full." Dan smiled at the woman, trying to work out various things abut her from her clothes and the way she acted "And trust me, I'm not the youngest around here. That honour goes to my little brother and sister." His grin widened slightly to show that he wasn't serious before working out who Sofia was.

He asked as politely as he could manage, "You're a Companion, aren't you? I saw a few of them walking around Persephone Spaceport when we were back there but none of them wanted anything to do with a few homeless orphans." Dan grimaced slightly, remembering the rough two years that he and his family had spent living in an empty shipping container on Persephone.

Dan managed a smile again then asked, "So what you doing on a ship? I thought most Companions mainly stuck to staying on one planet. Haven't heard of them moving around though."

The companion smiled at the boy and nodded. "I understand. Still, I did not expect it." she said, finding some odd comfort in the fact that he was a young man. Young being the operative word. He could still learn to be gentle, and the like. Really she didn't care, but still. She nodded as he spoke about the whole hands thing.

"That was cruel of them." she spoke sharply, her anger flaring at her sister companions. They should have known better, but then again, not all were as kind as her, or other's like her. She watched the boy as he spoke. "Yes, I am. I am here because I wish to be. And I enjoy a little adventure."

Dan grinned at the comment about not expecting someone his age on a ship and replied, "Not many people do, really. It's not common to find three orphaned kids on a ship like this, or any ship for that matter." The grin widened as the Companion mentioned how mean the Companions who had ignored the teenager and his siblings before saying, "Don't worry about it. We're used to people treating us that way but we generally don't mind since people like that are too arrogant to keep a check on their wallets."

Dan's smile turned gentle as Sofia mentioned adventure and said back, "Adventure is always nice, although I do think I've already had my fair share of it already." He put down the food in his hands on a nearby counter, predicting that he might be here for a while talking to the Companion. "And anyway, it's quite relaxing on here so far. Might be a bit of a break, really."

The Companion nodded, and took a sip of her tea. "I agree, but things are always... fluid out here in the black." she said with a quick smile. She was more relaxed around the boy. She liked him. He was a caring man, young, but smart. "You shouldn't be." she said to the part about him being used to people treating him like dirt, but she laughed at the last part. Her voice clear and happy. "Now that's something I can't condone, but it is usually funny to watch." she said leaning back against the counter.

"Adventure is the spice of life, but sometimes everyone needs some quiet." she said with a half smile. "If you ever need to talk to anyone, or need someone to talk to your siblings, my shuttle is open, as long as I'm here." she said with a serious look. This was not a proposition, this was trying to give the boy and his family a place to talk about their past, or at least their feelings. Sofia was trained in that kind of thing after all, and she figured the girl might need some motherly attention.

Dan was slightly taken aback by the Companion's offer to have him or his siblings talk to her if they ever needed to. Barely able to hide his surprise that Sofia hardly knew him but was already offering to help the three of them, he replied, "Thanks. It'll be nice for us to be able to talk to someone that isn't each other for a change." Right on cue, Dan heard footsteps behind him from the direction of the room's entrance and turned to see Skye and Chris walk into the room.

Dan smiled as they arrived and said to them, "Hey guys. I thought the two of you were busy with something?"

His little sister smiled back then replied, "No, I've already finished the stuff Kara asked me to do today."

Chris laughed slightly before saying, "Well, I was waiting for you to bring down some food. I wasn't exactly busy doing things."

Dan laughed then quickly said, "Oh yeah! Chris, Skye, this is Sofia. Sofia, Chris and Skye, my little brother and sister." He addressed the last statement to his siblings, "Sofia is a Companion, if the clothes didn't give it away already."

Seeing that there was someone else in the room, Skye immediately started to blush out of shyness, turned her eyes to the floor and said timidly, "Hi."

Chris, being the more confident of the two twins, smiled at the woman said, "Pleasure to meet you."

The oldest Bruce smiled as his two siblings introduced themselves before saying to Sofia, "So, you planning on staying for a while or are you only on here for a short amount of time?"
