Trinity, The black; Feburary 21st 2523
THe trinity had departed Hera after the funeral and was back on its way to finding work. Sidney had, with Taris, Help found a lead on some work. Nothing major just a simple smuggling job. They would pick up goods on Athena and take it to Osiris. It wasn't anything to hard but it would pay them a little bit.
Sidney was in the cargo bay with a few other members of the crew It was going to let them know what the deal was and that the flight was going to be really short they had left the day before late that evening, and they would be ariving in the morening the following day. "Now that we are done dealing with everying on Hera it is time we get this ship back to work. Tari has helped me find a bit of work for us on Athens. It should be fairly straigt forward. We will be picking up goods and taking them to Osiris."
He explained to the crew members. They had to get back in the swing of things and get out of this rut. It had been nearly a month since they had finished the job for the Duke and though they were paid well if they didn't get something going soon then they would be running out of money. "Once we are to Osiris we will need to find the contact and get the supplies to him. nothing to hard but a good place to start back up."

The Trinity couldn't leave Hera fast enough. Sure, they had business to take care of with James and they needed to restock and resupply but it was still Hera. Hell, they were practically on top of the battlefield of Serenity Valley. Too many memories, most of them bad for Browncoats. They had all suffered a terrible defeat here both with the cause dying and also more personally. Roger had nearly lost his life and likely lost most of his men there. At least he didn't have to stay throughout the entire battle like Sidney, Sakura, and James... having to watch first hand as defeat arrived. The carnage and destruction that was visited upon the Independent army was still talked about as the worst of the war. Being there made people remember things they might rather not remember, even if they didn't regret it, loss was always painful.
Of course they were also leaving James behind and starting a new chapter of their lives. Lingering over the grave wouldn't do them any good. They had carried the body long enough through their repairs and then the trip to Hera for the funeral. They had certainly done enough; had the time to make peace and pay their respects. It was for the best that they move on and got a new job, a return to normal life.
"I remember a recent job that promised to be easy as well, a simple transport run." Roger said. "We're sure we ain't workin' for the same fella this time, right?"
Roger was only half kidding. They had been burned on the last deal and it had cost them dearly even if they'd been 'compensated'. He was skeptical of things enough to begin with but he'd probably never assume a simple job was actually simple again.

SIdney could understand Rogers concerns he had his to after the last run they had. Honestly he expected everyone would have that concern for quiet some time to come in the future. "This is nothing like what it was last time. Our contact doesn't have the conections the duke has, and if things turn for the worse we are not going to be taking any risks this time." No none of his crew was going to be pt in a position to be at risk this time. He wasn't going to allow any risk for any of them other then himself maybe.
Things were going to be different now that he was in charge, James was always willing to take a few risks. Not that the last situation wasn't his doing but they didn't need the big jobs right now. They needed to be doing something simple and just moving forword. "All we got to worry about is keeping this cargo from being seen by the feds an we will be fine." Hopefully they wouldn't run in to a ship like the Esteem this time around.

Kalli waled in to the Cargo bay where SIdney and Roger were now at. SIdney had wanted them to come down and talk about the comming job. It was going to be something simple he had said. That is exactly what they needed something to get them back on their feet. "Hey so you have something planed for us huh Sid? Just make sure we aren't going to be straining the Trinity I am still not sure she is ready to go at it at full speed again. We just need to give her time to recover." She said as she walked down the stairs t the cargo bay floor.
She had heard him talking about keeping the cargo conceald from the Alliance that shouldn't be to big of a problem they were busy with Persephone these days so as long as the Trinity wasn't heading back that way they would be good to go.

The Trinity was already getting back in the swing of things. Meilin was waiting in the Cargo Bay with the rest of the crew to hear about the new job Sid had lined up for them. She didn't think she'd be much help, she only got involved in the last job because they needed all the guns they could get, but she came to listen anyway. Also, she had a request that had been gnawing at the back of her mind since she'd heard their job brought them to Athens."
"Cap'n?" Meilin cleared her throat awkwardly. "I was just wondering, um, will you really be needing me for this here job?" She chewed her lower lip bashfully. "It's just, Athens is awful close to home and if I'm not needed. Ma would skin me alive if she knew I was on Athens proper and didn't try to see her." She shrugged. "If you need my help of course I'll stay back and help however I can." Meilin finished quickly. Her loyalty was to the crew, of course, but picking up cargo on Athens would probably take a few hours. If her Ma took a shuttle and met her on Athens it would work splendidly.

On their face Sidney's reassurances were fine but the problem with the last mission hadn't been something they willingly walked into. It was one complication after another. At least on that job the cargo was perfectly legal so when they did get stopped and boarded there was nothing to fear. Now they actually had illegal cargo and the same potential for the plan to fall apart like before with the Trinity literally crashing in the elaborate trap of a job. Still, the odds of that were slim and the last job reeked of intrigue and a potential for disaster even if it was not explicitly stated. It was unfair to grill Sidney or anyone about such things. Roger knew better than most that life throws curve-balls and events are usually out of your control. That still is no excuse to let one's guard down. "Aye, skipper."
Roger listened to Kalli's report. It wasn't exactly the news he wanted to hear; despite all the repairs and down time the ship was still handicapped. As much as mechanics and pilots might try to personify them, a ship is still a machine not an organic being. The first-mate could understand the subconscious connection of wanting the ship to 'heal' but there was no science behind that. Ships are repaired and parts are replaced. There is no healing other than the work done by the crew. Perhaps that was Kalli's way of saying that she needed more time to finish repairs but it's not the way her brief report came across. Maybe even it was a very subtle hint at the state of the crew.
Next came Meilin's request. It wasn't really mission related at all but at least it brightened Roger's mood. It was good to see someone still with strong family ties even while traveling through the black. If they were back on Verbena Roger probably would have requested his own leave to see the folks and he had a more mission essential job than Meilin. He saw no reason the cook couldn't be released for a short while if they were planetside on a mission that didn't require her attendance. Maybe in a worst case scenario they might have to cut and run, leaving her on the planet, but the odds of that were astronomically small and she'd probably be better off at home than on board in that scenario. Yet the question wasn't directed at him nor did he have the ultimate authority so Roger waited for the captain's response.
