Jail? You? Get the rut out! You do realize you have to share the story now, don't you? ;D I got into a fight with this guy who was being a total 8=D to a teacher I really liked. I sat in class listening to him and trying to defend her the entire time, which he ended up making her cry. So I confronted him. It was after art class so I had my spray paint cans and decided to get him back. I got in his face and yelled at him about being rude, he shoved me and added a bit of curses and insults, I then sprayed him in the face with the can and kicked him in the knee I was arrested for assault, and was in jail for like a week because my mom wanted me to "pay for my mistake" lol and forced to go to the ROC which is like a special school for any kid who gets arrested at school. No questions asked. The teacher sent me a letter to my house thanking me for what I did, even though my choice of actions were not the greatest. They were appreciated. : )

Well the right thing ain't always the smart thing. In my country they'd never have arrested you, nor put you in jail. If the guy would've filed a complaint you'd have to go court about two years after and maybe you'd have to pay a fine. You might get a sentence for jail but here they don't put you in jail unless you're sentenced to more than 11 months. It's only an advantage when standing up to people or defending yourself though. In my case some guy almost beat me to death and the cops didn't even arrest him. Luckily my dad's a cop so he made sure the fúcker got the worst end of the deal Anyway, you sound like my kinda gal. Remind me to ask you out on a date sometime ;D

I used to play semi-pro baseball see. Was real good at it. I got invitations to do selections for the national team and was also a part of the 'Flanders Allstars'.
Anyway, things were good, I practically ran the team. Was real charismatic, I organized parties and other events and my teammates loved me for it. We were a real band of brothers ready to die for eachother.
But then one day the coach got some punk from the Dominican Republic into the team, guy from over 6 foot tall, and about 100 kg's, all muscle. He always did as he pleased, yet we ignored it for the most part.
Then during a game, he called out to one of my teammates in the outfield, telling him to come closer. Because I stood in the centerfield I had a better view of things so I told the Dominican punk that the guy was standing alright. Nothing more.
So I turn back for like 15 seconds to talk to one of the parents who stood closely to me near the cantina and all of a sudden BOOM! I was like Tom Hanks on the beach in Saving Private Ryan hearing nothing but some kind of static and seeing everything in slowmotion. During this time the guy hit me a couple of times breaking my jaw in several places and my right eye socket. When I finally snapped out of the static I realized I was on the ground with the guy still beating me, so I rolled back and freed myself.
By this time now the rest of the team had intervened, yet as soon as I stood up I immediately fell down again and lost consciousness. Next thing I remember is being on a gurney in the ER, apparently they had called an ambulance that took me away but I don't remember any of it.
Took me two years to recover, and even now I still have some form of PTSD for which I am still medicated.
As for the team, it disbanded after the coach took side with the Dominican. The guys left out of solidarity with me.
The guy was sentenced two weeks ago to 4 months in prison, a fine of € 550,00 + judicial costs, and he has to pay me € 15.000 for all the medical costs I've had, along with some moral compensation.
I lost two years of my life because of it, and I'm definately not the same person I was before. Don't know if I ever will become him again either.

Well according to the police he apparently thought that I insulted him in Flemish (Dutch dialect and my maternal language), but when they asked him what I supposedly said he answered: "I don't know, I don't know any Dutch!" Coach took his side because he always was a weasle, and we were starting to rebel against him as a team. We even had another coach come to our trainings a couple of times to see if he would take over so that's why there was also a suspicion that the attack on me wasn't a coincidence, because I was sorta the unofficial leader of the 'gang'. But the coach got what he deserved as well. Baseball was his life and after the team went the club existed for another year, solely for the children's training, until this year it finally crumbled down The field along with the cantina is taken over by some footballteam if I'm not mistaken ;D
