LAST REGiSTERED DOCKiNG: Hope Station, Newhall (--/12/2521)
background :
At the beginning of the Nicodemus' career, it was commissioned as a military supply vessel during the War for Independence. As well as it's duty to run items back and forth from the front-lines under the command of Supply Sergeant Jean-Phillipe Javier, it was also known as the Vagabond. A few of the dings and nicks it accumulated in it's service for the Alliance came from brief run-ins with the Independent forces. One such incident, bringing supplies to the pinned-down troops of Sergeant Major Ekkehard's company.
When the War was done, the Vagabond was decommissioned and left to sit and collect dust on the Orbital Station Bonaparte. Once Martine had finished her own service in the war, she was assigned to the same station. Her desire to leave the Alliance behind-- and any affiliations towards the war, either faction, anyone-- drew her to the spacious hangar bay. The search for the perfect vessel to 'acquire' began, and with careful planning, Martine took the Vagabond from it's retired state and gave it new life under the same Nicodemus. The initial warrant put out for the arrest of the thief carried for a few years, and kept Martine living on the edge for some time.
The crew that lived aboard the Nico came and went. One way or another. The tough jobs and stressful times that put a strain on the crews. Some died, and some just left. Moved on to other things. Martine was stubborn. She wouldn't let go of this life.
With the revelation of what the Alliance had done, the Nicodemus' theft was somewhat long-forgotten. The Alliance had a lot worse to clean up in order to reinstate themselves. Currently low on crew, Martine and her ship still stubbornly keep on with the life she chose. How it'll all pan out... well.. only time will tell.
